The technician Shawndee, is detailed, punctual and professional. Had it not been for him, I might not have ever known they don’t address squirrel related issues. It took three visits, at my expense to learn this. The scheduler, Chris, should’ve communicated this before sending the same tech a third time. I understand the service limitations, but the amount of time and energy wasted and lack of accountability is unsettling.
Description of Work: Scratching in the attic. A fully developed squirrel and smaller squirrel.

We have put systems in place to avoid any type of miscommunications with our customers, but as with any system, nothing is full proof. On ALL of our Service Agreements we list the pest that we service. On all our Service reports we summarize the work that has been performed. These reports are emailed to our customers. Your Service Agreement was signed and emailed to you on 09.03.24. Although we do not offer wildlife services, once you are [Member Information Removed] customer with us, if you have [Member Information Removed] concern that you may be dealing with [Member Information Removed] wildlife situation, we will come out to first confirm your belief and if it is confirmed that we are dealing with wildlife, we will make recommendations and in some instances can provide some assistance depending of the situation. We do this at no additional charge. We know this can be easily resolved, we just need to communicate via phone to get this accomplished. Our office Manager is available Monday to Friday, from 8:30AM to 2:00PM. Our New Orleans extension is 504.288.3210 We look forward to speaking with you via phone to quickly resolve this issue, as emails back and forth are clearly not working.

I hired Blue Star on May 6, 2020 to investigate and remove a rodent issue. The process was to have an initial visit for inspection and remediation, and two follow up visits. "DJ" came on May 9th. He inspected under the house and performed a treatment His report was dated May 12th. That was actually a very strong start for Blue Star. As homeowners, we solved the issue that created the rodent openings, and filled the openings themselves. A first follow-up was scheduled for May 20th. "Clint" came by, but could not go under the house to check where the rodent entrance was, due to a recent injury. He claimed the notes he got from "DJ" were incomplete, he was unaware he needed to inspect under the house, and "DJ" was no longer with the company. He told me he would call the office from his vehicle and arrange for them to send someone to complete the inspection. When that call never came by the middle of the next day, I contacted the office instead and was told there was a miscommunication and they arranged with me for an under-house inspection on May 26th. No one showed up for that inspection, so it was no surprise to me on June 2nd when no one called or showed up for the “final” inspection. "Clint" called around 6PM and told me the appointment was for Wednesday the 3rd, but my email from Blue Star says Tuesday June 2 from 8-12. So, while it appears the remediation was successful, I do not recommend this company because of their unreliability in keeping appointments.

This pandemic (COVID-19) has proven to be challenging for us due to the specialized training that is required in our industry. Don't remember the exact price. I purchased a deal and the guy didn't show up on the first scheduled day (a scheduling mix up). When he did show up, he was very nice. However, I'm still seeing bugs. I have have used different services and it is not normal to see live roaches a few weeks after a treatment. I would have left feedback earlier but I really did like the technician. I've sent a few emails over the last month letting them know that there is a problem and haven't received a response. I keep a very tidy home (housekeeping every other week) and this hasn't really been an issue in the past because we stay on top of it. I hated to leave this feedback but I was told that they would come back and my emails have been ignored (I can't wait around for phone calls) and I have emailed an array of days that they could come back to take care of the problem. Follow up. They returned to re-treat.

As a reminder the service you purchased through the special promotion only carried a 30 day guarantee. Our initial service was performed on July 26, 2014. The guarantee ended on August 26, 2014. However you did contact us through email on September 8, 2014, which was after the guarantee period, but we agreed to offer an additional service if needed. In our email communication at that time we asked that you call us to discuss the details as email and text DO NOT properly communicate as intended and there is no dialogue. We have not heard from you via phone as requested. We did receive your email through Angie's list late yesterday evening on 10/09/2014. We have made arrangements to have one of our field supervisors to go by your home today, Friday, October 10, 2014 in the afternoon as you requested in your email. He will assess your situation and identify why you are having on-going issue and perform an additional treatment at no additional charge. I do hope this will resolve your concerns Thank you.

James from Blue Star is great! He's friendly, personable, and well versed in types of pests and how to handle them. He gave me detailed instructions after his first visit and I started noticing a decrease in the number of pests on our property (mainly inside the house) right away. Now he comes every two months to perform routine maintenance. Happy to have him doing a job that I certainly don't want to do!

As for the quality of service, or keeping the bugs away- I cannot testify to that since I don't live there. But suffice to say that I haven't gotten a call from my tenants saying they're back!

I had problems with an insestation of Palmeto bugs in the house. The first treatment seems to have addressed the problem. The service was professionally handled & all my questions were answered. I was so pleased that I signed up for a 1 year contraact (bimonthly house treatments to help prevent a re-infestation of palmeto bugs.

There was a special deal on Angie's List so I purchased the deal. They called me the afternoon that I paid for the service and set up an appointment. They came out on the day the appointment was scheduled at the correct time. The provider was clean, courteous and professional. He took care of everything I needed . While spraying my house, he explained about their yearly contract and left the number to call , if I wanted to sign up. I did not feel pressured to sign the contract and will probably call and sign up. Yes I would use this company again.
Description of Work: I decided to take the contract and they come out once every other month. They treat the perimeter.My bug problem is under control. I especially like the fact that they only treat the inside of the house if two outside applications have not worked. Will continue to use Blue Star.

We have been doing our own termite control for a few years now. But then we had some come into the house through the bathroom floor and my husband told me to find someone to take care of it. I called around for pricing. Terminix was the MOST expensive, well over double what we paid Blue Star. And yet, it seemed to me that each company would do about the same thing, using the same chemical. We were on a tight budget and went with Blue Star. One thing I appreciated was how the technician was able to drill thru the grout in the bathroom to spray, rather than through the tile, which would have likely caused cracking (I was told by them all that this could happen). Normally we are DIY people. But this was something we wanted to leave to the professionals. Also, Termidor is not something we can buy without a license. We paid about $550 and had to sign up for 5 years (I think). So every year they will come back out and check and re-treat for a hundred-and-something. Also, anytime b4 then, we can call and they will re-treat at no cost to us. To sum it up, if each company is doing basically the same thing, why pay more?
Description of Work: we had the perimeter of our house treated for termites after some were coming through the bathroom floor. the bathroom area where they were was also treated.

Some companies price based on want they think they can get from the customer. We utilize a rate card that bases all of our pricing on the linear footage and type of construction of your home. This creates a fair, uniformed and consistent pricing system. For example most Mono slab homes under 3000 square feet will cost between $500 to $800 to protect against termites. When doing your due diligence and acquiring estimates, it may seem that all the companies do the same thing. Our industry is regulated by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and we all must treat every home to a minimum State standard. Blue Star Pest Control exceeds the State standards, because we treat your home as if it our own. The most important question to ask when obtaining an estimate for termite protection is: How many years of experience treating for termites does the Technician that will be physically doing the work have and has he been certified as a Master Technician? Because, ultimately the real difference regardless how many years the company has been in business is how good is the person that will be treating your house. AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR TRUSTING US!

I had what I thought were rats in my attic. They ended up being mice. The worker went up into the attic and put up several traps. He walked me around the house and pointed out where the eaves had holes. He stuffed those holes with copper mesh that he believes mice cannot chew through. A week later, he came to check the traps for me. I would be terrified to do that. He found one mouse and removed it. He was so smartand answered all my questions. They were just wonderful.

They are an excellent company to deal with. They are always on time. They do the business and we get a receipt that everything’s been taken care of. We have no difficulties in any of the properties and that’s what wee look for. We are happy with their service and happy with their price.
