Able Home Improvements

I would recommend them. They did a good job, and were nice. I have 12 foot ceilings which they didn't realize,but the owner came through and had them do it Asap. Thanks Able Home Improvement. I would use them again. I am thinking of putting in wood floors at some point so I will call them.

I had bought their Big Deal Painter For a Day, which got me 8 hours of painting. They were nice on the phone, and the gentleman was prompt in showing up and professional. The reason I give it a "C" is because I wasn't impressed with the amount of work that actually got done. I realize that this could be because painting is just one of those things -- maybe professionals just don't paint that much faster (or better -- I had to go back and put on a second coat) than amateurs like me. In the future, I'll save my money and do it myself.

Work was performed by Wayne, who arrived on time and worked the entire time (eight hours), taking only two 10 minute breaks. He was wonderful. He taped over all areas and did a great job. A very hard worker and nice man. This was my first experience with Able Improvements and it was because the Big Deal and working with Wayne went so well that I hired the company to fix a leak I've had since I moved in three years ago (and had others trying to fix) around my chimney and back porch roof. This did NOT go well and I'm in the process of reviewing that experience through Angie's List. For Painting deals, I can recommend Wayne and his job done. See my review on other work (after I can figure out how to word process and then cut and paste it into the review form!!)

Jennifer arrived a few minutes early and got right to work. She made minor wall repairs, then began painting. She was fast, efficient and did a very good job. She cleaned everything up before she left. I highly recommend Jennifer and Able Home Improvement!

It was a good experience, the service provider called me, scheduled an appointment for an estimate and came out. Very professional; however, I found the prices to be a little more than I budgeted to spend.

Overall, a very good job! When I first called for an estimate, they responded within a few hours, called everyday to check on the work, and always arrived on time.The two workmen we dealt with were very professional and did a great job. Every day they cleaned up after themselves, and when the work was finished Able sent a cleaning lady (no charge) who spent almost 3 hours cleaning everything again. My only complaint was in regards to the supplies. We were given a list of things to buy by the foreman who apparently is not in communication with the actual workman. The painter did not actually use some of the supplies ordered by the foreman, and needed others that the foreman hadn't mentioned. So, we had to make 3 trips to Lowe's to buy new things and return old things. We ended up with more paint than we needed, even allowing for the fact that some is usually needed for touchups later. However, everything else was top notch, and I wouln't hesitate to use Able again or recommend them to friends.

The painter arrived 2 hours late - oh, so frustrating. I called the office for an eta, and was first told that there were traffic problems, then I learned there was likely a mix up in assignments. After the rocky start, things went quite well. The painter arrived, she was very pleasant and professional. She worked steadily, and finished a few hours ahead of the allocated time (painter for a day). I wish I had lined up some backup work. The painter seemed knowledgable, and performed the work neatly. She was prepared with tarps to cover the furniture which remained in the room. She managed to keep paint off the floor and furniture, so I was pleased. One of the servicemen on the phone explained that they were working the bugs out of a new scheduling system, so this could have contributed to the job delay. Other than the late start, the job was a good experience.

The ORIGINAL workmanship was sub-par for Able Home Improvements. However, I contacted them four months later about my unhappiness, and they agreed immediately to come back and correct the work. I found their painting crew had a complete overhaul. The two painters now, Leo and Jennifer, came to re-do the original painting and were very good. They were polite, agreed with the issues, and corrected most of the original errors. I would use them again. The office person called to check the progress the day they were here, and the following day. The owner, Richard, stands behind his crew's work. That is exceptional these days. I only rated them a B because of the original painters and supervision.

They sent 2 painters (Leo & Chris) to paint my home. I am disabled & they made sure I was comfortable each day. Able Home Improvements is an awesome company to deal with. It is hard to find honest contractors in today's world, but Able Home Improvements is one. There were a few misunderstandings through the job, Richard & Doug made sure everything was done & done correctly. I can't praise them enough. I would hire them without thinking twice. They are very professional and price wise, very reasonable. My husband (who is a perfectionist) & I love the job they did.

The service worked out pretty well. I bought two of the $250 one day for a painter. They showed up a little late but they got all the work done that they said they were gonna get done. One day wasn't enough time for both of the rooms. The price was good.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased and I purchased two of them. It was okay. There were two men that came. One of them was really good and the other was a little slow. Their work is a hit or miss depending on who comes out to do the work. One was really great and had a lot of experience. The other one was a lot slower and took more breaks. I had them come out and give me a quote for some other things but they were really expensive and wanted to revamp everything more than I was ready to do at that time.

He arrived punctually, and did a professional job. We are very pleased with his ability and his courteousness. Would definitely use this provider in the future.

It went excellent. I needed the job done and they had good reviews. It was good. They came when they said.

We had a project to remove and replace approximately 300 square feet of ceramic tile in our kitchen, remove the wall paper and texture and repaint the walls. repaint During estimate it was suggested that the project would take approximately 3 days. It lasted over two weeks. The workers were all very personable however not very dependable for maintaining scheduled start times or even showing up on days.The one time we got a call informing us of a late start time it was a "We'll be there in 10 min." call. We spent two Saturdays waiting for workers who had left the previous night with see you tomorrow at 9am with no calls and no showing up. While removing the wall paper was an unusually difficult task frequent breaks and late starts did not help keep things on schedule. The painters didnt tape in lines and so many of the transitions are not as crisp as you would expect from a professional painting service. In removing the ceramic floor the workers didnt make efforts to take up the old thin set "It would take to long" and so they took a short cut and tried to use a thick coat self leveling compound. It wasn't applied evenly across the whole room preventing some areas from being level. The "Don't worry we will used extra thin-set there" was the explanation provided by the workers. The uneven areas apparently presented difficulty in grouting the tile as there are already gaps and cracks in the grout in those areas. Lastly, during payment our credit card was overcharged. After a few phone conversations where Able agreed to fix the payment issue we were informed that the processing company couldn't do a "partial refund" an a hard check was being mailed. Richard seems to be genuinely concerned about his customers and the quality of the work performed by Able Home improvements. Unfortunately his concern seems to be either not shared by many of his employees or they simply are not skilled enough to live up to his expectations. If you know the "right way" to do things and can personally supervise the work you can expect a great price and good results.

This is a follow-up review to the last one I wrote for this company, which wasn't too favorable. The owner was very concerned that I had a bad experience and gave me a complimentary day of painting with 3 painters. I almost couldn't believe it since my original service was a day with one painter, so I couldn't refuse even though I was apprehensive. It went much better this time. They listened to what I wanted, not just doing what they assumed I wanted. They worked 8 hours with a few short breaks. I can now say I am a satisfied customer and would consider using this company in the future.

It went well with Able Home Improvements. They are reasonably priced. They were prompt, very clean and very detail-oriented.

The owner is very conscientious. The owner checked over the job at the end which I thought was interesting since that does not normally happen, that was a good thing.

Contractor provided excellent floor installers and a fair price . I would use this service again. There were no delays on contractors part

Terrific! They were EXTREMELY patient with me trying to make up my mind what I wanted painted. Painter, Jennifer, showed up EARLY! Started right to work - painted exactly what and where I wanted. She took no breaks!! No lunch - just kept painting!! Very neat - cleaned up and left.

The job was professionally done; they cleaned and picked up all debris, great job by Nick and Steve! The living room bamboo flooring came out beautiful and bath room tile the same, I have already asked Richard Cooper to give me an estimate on a patio cover build and installation, and will be using his services for other work in the future!! Richards?s crew was proficient, professional, friendly and accommodating could not have asked any better? Fantastic Job !! Well done.

Richard was extremely professional and honored the quality of workmanship! My sun exposed foyer flooring is now resistant to sun fading and water damage. Doug measured carefully and transformed my general foyer appearance with the diagonal design. The edges, trim work and baseboard paint jobs were impeccable! I plan to use this company for bathroom remodeling.
