 + -1 moreArrived on time and protected area around fireplace with tarps. Used appropriate equipment to vacuum and clean fireplace with good result. The only negative aspect of service was the unexpected high cost. However this was because I wanted the first available service date and did not discuss price before job. Some of the other fireplace/flue cleaners posted lower costs but were not available. I would use service again but would negotiate before hiring.
Description of Work: Cleaned one fireplace and flue.

 + -1 moreGlen arrived after calling me first. He was very pleasant, but professional and worked straight through without taking breaks. He was very careful with his equipment inside and outside my house. The job took 2 days, but he came back a 3rd day for some clean up outside. He was very dependable on the job start to finish. We are very pleased with our choice of chimney sweep!
Description of Work: Glen cleaned out our chimney, removed the old 1948 damper which had quit working, & added 2 "Lock-Top Energy-Saving Fireplace Dampers" on the top of our chimney. He gave me the registration paperwork to fill out & mail in to that company for the warranty. Ours was somewhat complicated, as he had to figure out how to fit 2 lock-top dampers side by side up on top of the chimney, since it was built in 1948, & not a standard size for today. He was very careful with his ladder so as not to lean it against our gutters. When he was working in our den, he used a tarp on our hearth & in front of the hearth, & was careful with our furniture while bringing in his equipment. He even cleaned up & polished our fireplace doors (both the glass & metal). He was dependable, courteous, easy to get along with & I would definitely recommend Glen to my friends & have him back in the future.

 + -1 moreIt went great! After I called him, he came over the next day. He was very courteous and professional. I pointed out my problem and he went to work. He had to order a part. As soon as it came in, he came over and completed the work. He had to move the dryer and washing machine to get to the dryer vent (it was a major pain to do that) and drill into the wall. After he installed the new metal duct, he cleaned the space behind my dryer and washing machine which hadn't been cleaned in years! He put everything back. it all looked great and I no longer have the problem of a bird nesting in my dryer vent, the deteriorated plastic from the old vent catching on fire, and I know how to move the dryer and clean the new vent. I highly reccomend Top Hat Chimney Sweep.
Description of Work: My dryer wasn't working. My dryer repairman told me I had 20 yrs of accumulated lint in my decomping plastic dryer vent and recommended Top Hat Chimney Sweep. Glen came out cleaned out the bird's nest and accumulated lint, replaced the duct work with good metal stuff which was hard to fit through the upstairs outside wall to curve and make it to the dryer in my laundry room. He installed a new bird proof vent on the outside of my house, too.
