Shreve Fence Co

I called to get an estimate about fence repair. I waited one week (the person who answered said it would be at least 3-4 days) with no response. When I called back the receptionist did not sound optimistic that I would receive a return call and she was right! I called one more time - again no response.The repair was for a fence installed by this company 5-6 years ago. I made it clear that I was expecting to pay for repairs - that the original work was not necessarily defective ( nails instead of screws were used to attach the fence to the posts and they came loose). I called two other companies who were very responsive and they even replaced all of the nails - even the ones that were still holding - with screws.

We ended up going with someone else because they came out in a timely manor gave us an estimate the next day and were cheaper than Shreveport fence.

I called two companies recommended by my homeowners association. One of the companies referred me to Shreve Fence because I told them about a fence I saw that I liked--I was told they were the only ones in town that did it. They came out and gave me a written estimate, and we initially scheduled the installation for late 2009. Major car problems forced me to delay the installation to the spring of this year. The installation was completed over two days and though I'd called to schedule the installation, I didn't know the work had begun until I went home the first evening. Upon completion the following day, the overall project looked good. However I had a few small problems. One was the walk gate was not installed to swing outward the way the old one had been and it was also hinged on the wrong side. I was told that was the way they did all of them and because my old gate had been in such poor condition, they hadn't paid attention to how it opened and didn't bother to ask me what I wanted. After much discussion, they finally acquiesed to correct the hinges but not the swing. I asked about covering the 3 metal posts with wood pickets that were in the retainining wall that couldn't be replaced to match the other posts. I was told that wasn't included in the estimate and would be extra. So though I wasn't pleased with the overall experience because the fence looked so much better than the old one and because their primary interest was to make payroll that Friday. About a week ago, I had a contractor friend at my house to look at doing some outside improvements. I was showing him the fence when he pointed out to me that the fence on the east side of the gate is not plumb. I didn't notice it, I suppose becaused I was so fixated on the problems with the gate. I called the company to let them know and was asked when the fence was installed. I was told my name and number would be given to the sales representative, and I've heard nothing since then.
