Loves Landscape & Irrigation

Placed call to owner, Todd Love, and within 24 hours I received a return call. During our telephone conversation, I explained the issue I was having and asked if he was able to come out and see me. The very next day he arrived on time and listened carefully as I discussed my irrigation problem with him. Afterward, he began to walk around my home checking each of the 7 zones of my sprinkler system and making adjustments. In addition, he made recommendations about a drainage issue I had discovered. After spending at least 45 minutes (this was the initial appointment), he offered an on-the-spot quote for the work he was to perform. Unfortunately, after he left I realized I already had a sprinkler maintenance contract that had not expired with another company, so I didn't need his expertise after all. I offered to pay him for his time, but he declined even though he had made some improvements on this initial visit. Bottom line: very nice person, very professional and competent business owner.

We have known we had drainage issues in our backyard for a couple of years now - standing water days after a rain, areas that rarely ever completely dried out, etc. Once we had our first child and she received her first playset, we were forced to deal with the messy, muddy problem. We had contacted several companies for quotes and suggestions for solutions, and settled on Todd Love of Love's Landscapes. Todd proposed a french drain down the center of the backyard and one side of the house, two catch basins, a sump pump, and building up a couple areas of the yard to deter water from collecting in those spots. He made two visits to our home, each time spending 1-2 hours listening to our concerns and questions and to survey the yard, once after a heavy rain so that he could see for himself our issues. We paid a deposit and he was able to start work about a week later (after waiting out more wet weather). It took a full week for Todd to complete the work to correct the water issues. He never missed a day of work, always cleaned up after himself each day and took GREAT pains to keep our yard from becoming a huge mess and to protect our grass from further damage. He even layed down plywood to roll the wheelbarrow and his small tractor around our yard. We were very appreciative of this because our yard was so soggy that just walking through the grass was tearing it up. Once Todd was finished with the work, the only evidence he had been there was the small cutout down the yard for the drain pipes - the rest of the yard looked untouched. In addition to the water drainage problem, we also asked Todd to trim two crepe myrtle trees in our front yard. He came a separate day and spent several hours meticulously trimming each branch. I specifically requested that he not drastically alter the shape of the trees and he painstakingly worked to accomodate me. Now that the work has been completed for a couple of weeks now, we have had a couple really good, hard rains (2+ inches one time) and the new drainage system works perfectly. Before Todd's work, after it would rain it would literally take over a week for the backyard to dry out enough that we could enjoy spending time out there. After Todd's work, it is now dry enough to go out there and let my daughter play the next day. The difference is night and day and we could not be more satisfied.

Called and had to leave a message on answer machine. Heard back one week later. I told him of my needs and mentioned in parting that I didn't have a large budget. Said he'd be by at the end of the week, and never heard from again.
