Couldn't be happier with Handyman for Hire. Have been dealing with Jeff & his crews for nearly 25 years. The latest project couldn't have gone better. His two-man crew was easy to work with and worked well together, and as trustworthy as the day is long. Their foresight in planning the project, problem-solving skills during the project, and quality of work was all top-knotch. Looking forward to dealing with Handyman for Hire for the next projects!

The Handyman For Hire crew was professional and the results were outstanding. The project was much more in depth than originally quoted which led to significant overages. However, the work done was necessary due to the age of the house and the custom door size. Both Jeff and his team kept us updated every step of the way so there were no surprises. The finished product was high quality with good craftsmanship and they left nothing behind to clean up. Very satisfied.

He was really honest. He told me that the drywall didn't need to be replaced. They actually saved me money. They said it was going to be $250. He was very reasonable. He came at the same day. He was very professional and very outgoing. I will recommend them. He will not cheat you and try to get you an insurance. He'll be out if you needed work done.

Hard-working crew came out and patched up some places in drywall, secured flashing around my chimney, replaced some rotten wood under a cabinet, replaced kick plate and shoe molding around sink, fixed sink, replaced some water-damaged wood under a gutter and fixed some posts on the patio. We showed them a variety of areas that needed touching up and they knew what they were doing and said with confidence "yes, we can do that." The work was finished in two days and before they would take a check they asked us to take a walk-through to inspect heir work. It is so hard to get someone to commit to coming out and fixing things up, but we were very pleased at this crew.

Jeff is easy to work with. He showed up when he said he would, introduced me to the guys repairing the house, set dates and times, listened to what I wanted, and has since returned to discuss other possible projects (but we haven't set anything up yet). Because the primary task was painting, he did not need to be on site much, but left the work to Kevin, whose crew worked extra hours to get the project done well and on budget. I will definitely work with Jeff, aka Handyman for Hire, again.

I could not have asked for a better experience or outcome. Jeff Windham, who owns and operates Handyman for Hire, has shown himself to be absolutely honest and a pleasure to work with. He knows the remodeling trade well. I have never done business with a finer man. All of his workmen and subcontractors did excellent work. This repair/remodel was a big job. We replaced the main electrical panel and added or replaced light fixtures in 10 rooms. We added switches and outlets in the kitchen and bathrooms. We replaced the hot and cold water service throughout the entire house (all the way to the water meter) and installed a new hot water heater. We removed 2 gas wall heaters and replaced all gas lines all the way to the meter. We replaced all waste lines from the bath rooms, kitchen, and laundry room. We installed heater/light/vents in the bathrooms. We installed a dishwasher and garbage disposal and replaced all plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen and installed all new faucets, shower heads, etc. We installed custom-made cabinets and countertops in the bathrooms and kitchen. These were constructed from good quality plywood (no particle board) with clear solid wood doors and face frames. Jeff's cabinet maker also built 3 large bookcases that were installed in the library. All this cabinet work is beautiful. The craftsmen who installed the tile did an excellent job on the tile as well as the engineered wood floor in the library. The carpenters skillfully corrected the structural issues that were encountered and finished everything nicely. The painters painted every surface in the house except the floors. They did an excellent job and brought this old house back to life. The hardwood floors were refinished to perfection. I can hardly believe how nice these 60 year old floors turned out. Every single workman was pleasant and courteous. I thank them for their fine work.

Original request was for a rustic/basic pergola, awning, and door installation. The pergola was cost prohibitive @ $6k for what was to be a frame in essence. He said an awning installation request was a "first" so we did not complete. Finally the door, which was much needed, was done and that was a great installation. It was a clear job; couldn't even tell anyone had been there.

Once I understood that it was my job to make all decisions regarding what I wanted and make purchases, we were good to go. This was difficult since I am a "senior" and, for a time, dependent on a relative to drive me from place to place. So the preparation process was a bit lengthy. However, Jeff did point me in appropriate directions to compare which was most helpful. The actual work went quite smoothly. His employees and sub contractors were very friendly and courteous, even going above and beyond by helping move and discard items unrelated to their job. Of course no "re-do" is perfect, especially in a 50 year old house. The cabinet doors in the bathroom were installed upside down and not discovered until the knobs were placed so the tops of the doors that show, and catch dust, are rough. The new commode, installed by a plumber, rocks, although certainly not unusable. The flooring contractor who was recommended by Handyman For Hire was equally as competent and courteous. He came to the house to discuss different types of flooring and made recommendations based on the look I wanted, age and type of the existing flooring, etc. He also gave me flooring businesses to consult. The work went smoothly and efficiently although his helpers bickered a lot among themselves which made me a bit uncomfortable. There are a couple of issues which Dennis tells me he will come investigate this week. As a final summary I will say that all the work done to date is beautiful and I am very happy. There are still a few odds and ends to finish and I am totally confident that the result will be exemplary.

I asked him how much it would cost to replace 2 ceiling fans. He asked where I lived and how tall the ceilings were. I said they were probably average. He said $100.00 each. That is way more than I would ever pay for that. I read in his other reviews that he charged $75.00 per hour. I'm calling someone else.

Needed windows replaced, fast , courteous

I contacted Jeff with Handyman for Hire and he was very prompt in coming out to discuss my remodeling wishes and estimated cost. I wanted to have the bathroom completely remodeled and some work done in my hallway to remove an old door frame. The bathroom remodel included relocating the door, completely gutting the room and rebuilding including some new plumbing and electrical work and new window. Jeff stayed in touch telling me where we were and what to expect. I am sure any remodel has snags but ours were few and very minor. The project took 5 weeks as Jeff had estimated and I love it. Could not be more pleased with the outcome. They were able to do everything I asked for and even more. All the workers were professional, respectful and friendly. (Even my mail carrier commented on how nice the guys were!) Having only 1 bathroom I had to move out for a while but they worked as quickly as possible to get everything done so I could move back in my house. I will definitely contact Jeff and his crew for any future needs I have no matter how big or small. And YES I would recommend them to my friends and family. Thanks Jeff...you guys rock!!!

Went great haven't had a problem out of anything they tended to.

We have a 50's ranch style house which had one bathroom and had the washing machine installed in the kitchen. We needed another bath and wanted the washing machine moved from the kitchen. The first phase was to demolish the old storage room and then remove concrete so that plumbing could be roughed in. The drain line had to be extended approximately 50' across the back yard and tied into the existing sewer line. After that the floor had to be raised to be flush with the kitchen and a wall was opened up to make the new space flow into the existing house. The electrical rough in, the remainder of the plumbing and framing came next. After that, drywall was installed and then finished and textured. The flooring went in next, after that paint and baseboards. Finally the plumbing fixtures were installed and the electrical finished. Jeff has a very competent crew but uses sub contractors for plumbing, electrical, concrete and painting. Before the bid was even given, I was introduced to all of the sub contractors and it was obvious that they had worked together on many jobs. Everyone exhibited the highest level of professionalism and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. In a process that can be daunting, it made us very comfortable. The entire process took a little over six weeks. There was progress every day and the time line was clear and adhered to. Every day, the job site was cleaned up and secured. So the job was finished on time and right on budget. We will begin a kitchen remodel next month and will positively use Handyman For Hire.

Jeff was very professional from the start. It was a small job, but they were able to fit me into a busy schedule. His guys came in, went right to work, and were very professional. They even accomplished some additional work and managed to stay well under the original quote. I plan to use them in the future and would feel comfortable recommending this company.

We interviewed several potential contractors for this major make-over. Jeff was very professional and very truthful in describing what he felt needed to be done to renovate our house. He is a straight shooter but was open to listening to suggestions to help us stay within our budget. The final product came in very close to our initial estimates. He was timely in getting the project underway, and his workers did a good job, too. I appreciated that any smokers in the work group kept it outside and away from the construction going on inside. Jeff was great about calling us when hitting a few small snags, but we were able to work out things quickly and within budget. I appreciated how easy it was to reach Jeff via phone and email as we dealt with any decisions/issues on this major project. Little by little, the house rounded into shape. The new master bathroom exceeded our expectations! It turned out GREAT! The other bathroom renovations gave it a brand new look with new fixtures and wall/ceiling repairs. The interior paint job was fantastic and very professional (he used top-of-the-line paint). The interior wall and ceiling repairs greatly improved the look of several of our rooms. The updated fixtures (ceiling fans, lights, and a few wall outlets) added to the improved look of our house, too. We were quite happy with the final outcome. And, as stated above, our house was SOLD in about 1/3 of the average time for our neighborhood. I would definitely recommend that you contact Jeff for an estimate prior to your renovation project. GOOD JOB!

Jeff came out and looked at the damage and had a plumber over the next day. He had the sheetrock/painter working immediately and then the carpet was replaced, exactly when promised.
