1-800-Got-Junk?

Trying to work with these guys and the manager (I think his name is Cliff.) was a terrible experience. My husband made the appointment for them to clean up my father's home (He recently passed.) outdoors, and we spent several days pulling out and cleaning up the items to be hauled away. When the 1-800-Junk team showed up, one of their trailers / trucks was full, leaving only one available for our items. That surprised me, since they never went to the house to assess exactly how much garbage there was to make sure they were prepared for our appointment. They refused to take anything out of the garage, claiming that it may be a bio safety hazard, or the back yard, claiming the grass was too high to safely remove items (The grass was ankle high.). So, they left and never offered to take the items already prepared for them in the front yard, leaving us to scramble to find someone else to clean the front yard. I called the 1-800 number (When you call, you are directed to a main call center, not a local affiliate / branch.) and was called back by the local manager. He told me they weren't going to do the job, because I assumed they weren't prepared for our appointment. I told him, no sir, it's not an assumption, but rather an observation. Afterwards, he said they would clean the front yard, but I decided not to proceed with them, because of everything that occurred that day, including my conversation with him. But thankfully I was able to find someone last minute to come by the house that day and start the work the following day with no issues regarding the ankle-high grass in the back yard or the items in the garage to be thrown out. My feeling (and this is just my opinion) is that because it was a very hot day, the 1-800-Junk guys saw how big a job it was at our house and didn't want to do it. One more thing: we were estimated one price when we made the appointment, and then a different estimate by the team that showed up. If you decide to work with these guys, make sure you request they assess the size of the job and provide the estimate in writing. Honestly, I do not recommend them and hope that more people that have similar experiences will take the time to share them on Google and other review sites.

Super professional and fast. Gave advice on what to keep and what to throw out (advised that we keep some things that we thought were probably worthless). Knew their stuff. Not cheap but worth every penny and will definitely hire them again. Also very nice guys. Should have hired them years ago!

They're kind, they're pleasant. They're prompt, they kept communication open by calling me. That helped me to prepare for them coming. Some people are so mean, but not them. Other ways they can help are hauling out of a house, hauling out things from a classroom, probably on college campuses, from various places. It's also good when people have disabilities who need things hauled away. They probably have very many uses.

I mostly call 1-800-GOT-JUNK? at least once a year to remove the accumulated Yard Waste (branches, bush prunings, etc.). This time I was having some Landscape work done and needed to get rid of several large boxes, broken shelving unit and other miscellaneous items along with some Yard Waste. As always I called 1-800-GOT-JUNK and quickly set up an appointment. ** PLEASE NOTE ** 1-800-GOT-JUNK won't give a final price estimate (quote) until they're on site, Each 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise sets it own rates based on the volume your junk takes up in their truck, measured by 1/8s and 1/6ths (for example they have rates for 1/8 of a truck, 1/6, 1/4, 1/3, 3/8 etc. etc.) so the cost is different depending on where you live in the country. Here in the SHREVEPORT / BOSSIER CITY area the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise have the lowest rates in the country and range from $87 (minimum charge) up to $438 (full load). Here is a complete breakdown ( pricing subject to change). Minimum Charge - $87 1/8th - $117 1/6th - $147 1/4th - $177 1/3rd - $207 3/8th - $237 1/2 - $267 5/8th - $298 2/3rd - $328 3/4th - $358 5/6th - $388 7/8th - $418 FULL LOAD - $438 On Thursday, 7/7/2011, someone from the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise showed up and gave me a quote of $147.00 for one-sixth (1/6) of a truck load and approximate 20 minute job.. With my $10.00 coupon that I got when I booked my appointment the final quote was $137.00. Normally, the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise sends two individuals in the distinctive trucks used by this fabulous national company. This time, however, only one (the driver) showed up. Just as before, my "Junk" and "Yard Waste" was quickly loaded on the truck and the area swept, raked, and cleaned as needed. In the end my "Junk" and "Yard Waste" did not go over the one-sixth (1/6) of a truck load so my final bill was $137.00. I have always been very happy with the work done by the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise and the cost is reasonable when you take into account the cost of running a truck, the labor costs involved, and the value of the time saved by you not having to haul your stuff to the local landfill. You should consider the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK franchise for all your junk and yard waste removal needs.
