 + -1 moreContractor was amiable in the beginning, and managed to get me to do something I would never advise anyone else to do...pay him in advance. His story was that he needed money for payroll and materials. Once he was paid, he stopped work and left almost every job unfinished. He would not answer calls, unless I called from a number he didn't recognize. He admited he owed me the work and made several promises to come complete the job, but never showed up. He continues to advertise and work in this area, doing mostly fence and ornamental iron work.
Description of Work: Renovations began well, but this contractor eventually left the job unfinished when he received last payment. Painted walls were not trimmed out. Wood floors put down but didn't install threshholds. Left stucco work unfinished, concrete work unfinished, patio repair unfinished. Installed tile ceiling incorrectly and it fell in. Left downspouts off guttering job. Left holes in wall where stair rail was removed. Left paint overspray on stairs when he used spray paint to touch up walls! Baseboards and wood trim around front door left off. He was paid over $3000 for storm shutters and never installed them. In addition to home repairs, he collected over $7000 for roof work to another building I own. Job was to replace flashing, fix leak in roof and repair sheetrock. He left old flashing in place but assured me he replaced it.
