Description of Work: This provider submitted a bid on December 15, 2014, which I had decided to accept.

Description of Work: We live in a 100 years old house with a finished attic (which makes the work area very complicated) that gets exceedingly hot during summers. I interviewed several insulation companies who came all highly recommended on Angie's list. One company send over a lady who spent 10 minutes looking and she proceeded to pitch me a plan with traditional insulation. When I asked more questions she obviously did not have answers for me. I don't know why they sent an under-qualified salesperson. She kept pushing for a state energy rebate which I did not care for. The second company was a lot more professional. The guy came twice and spent a total of maybe 45 minutes looking at the work area. He quoted me $4,000. He took rough measurements with a laser tape measure. The salesman was slightly overweight so he could not fit through a lot of area to do a complete measurement. Then I met Mr. Johnson. He spent over one and a half hours going through all areas painstakingly took measurements and drew out a plan for us. This was before he knew he was hired. His quote came less and it included preparatory work to vent the bathroom and to duct in air to furnace and to a water heater.

Description of Work: Bid to foam insulate the attic above the living space, and a separate part of the attic above a carport.Detailed review of necessary attic preparation, along with a bid for company to the preparation, or I could do it myself.Detailed bid with options regarding foam thickness and various extra areas to apply spray foam. Detailed discussion about pros, cons, and possible savings from additional spray foam. Attic preparation to prepare for spray foaming. Spray foam attic above living area. Spray foam attic above carport. Clean up after the spray foam was complete. Prep work was done by job estimator, David Johnson. He was on time, very courteous, very through in his work, including doing a little extra. He did not add any additional costs to the estimate, although the prep work took him longer than I believe he anticipated. Spray foam workers arrived on time, and first laid down plastic to protect the house, floor, etc. They went about the work immediately, and did a great job spraying everything, following my instructions for a few particulars. One comment for others having their attic sprayed, go back and look at the foam after it has expanded, sometimes it expands and leaves a crack/crevice or bare spot on the attic roof or rafter that needs touch up later, I have found a couple of these type spots. I recommend this company and David Johnson as the job estimator, planner, and attic preparation person. Also, be sure to discuss the proposed attic foaming with your air conditioner contact. Foaming seals the attic, and it can reduce the A/C load so much that the a/c does not run enough to cut the humidity, leading to mildew in the attic. I had extensive discussions with the a/c folks, and opted to open a vent from the a/c cold air supply into the attic to exchange the air in attic and drop the humidity in the attic. Now, when I go into the attic, it is warmer than the house, but not humid. I have noticed a drop in the electrical bill, but have not quantified it yet, believe somewhere around $100.

Description of Work: Spray foam attic in renovated mid-city shotgun double. Vent gas water heater and furnace to outside.

Description of Work: All Star removed the existing insulation (batting) from underneath our house. They then sprayed Icynene open cell foam insulation. Approximately 1500 square feet.

Description of Work: All Star was very helpful and went out of their way to work with my schedule. The insulation is great and I can already tell a difference and their service was as convenient as it could possibly be.

Description of Work: Icynene spray foam insulation. Sealed underside of roof deck, gable,and soffits. Salesman was extremely personable, and was an ex-contractor, who, during my inspection, pointed out a variation of construction that a salesman from another company failed to spot. Also told me that my bathroom vent was vented to the attic for 34 years!! Told me how to fix it. Told me in detail the prep work involved, so that I could do it myself and save a few bucks. I paid extra for the optional double-thickness foam with the rafter wrap.

Description of Work: They did a nice job with spray insulation. Very clean no mess around the house, completed the job in one day. Very professional sales person. Their foam does not retain water which was the reason we decided to go with their product. Their price is the best from several offers.

Description of Work: Icythene foam insulation was installed on the second floor roofline and in the kneewalls of the porch. Prior to installation all necessary prep work was completed with minimum inconvenience.

Description of Work: Had icythene insulation blown into my attic.There was a bit of "prep" work to be done before the actual job was done, but David handled that personally.
