The overall work was excellent, beginning with our consultation with Nick the Landscape Architect. He explained everything in detail and worked with us to get what we wanted. The work crew was exceptional and very professional. The owner himself followed up with us to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction. I would recommend Green Escapes and would use them again for landscaping work.

It went very well. There landscape architect Nick Musso came out to my house to design a rain bird irrigation system With an automatic controller to cover all my flower beds in my front, side and back flower beds. After I accepted their proposal they send out a team to remove my old system and install the new one. After completed they then gave me instructions on how to adjust the system if needed and how to winterize the system.

Exceeded expectations for start date and duration of work. Performed every detail of plan. Workers were professional and courteous. They were quiet and cleaned up daily.

Don and his team, once again, did a fantastic job on our landscape. We wanted it completed before Easter (before Covid) and they easily completed it in time and communicated the entire time planning, during, and after to make sure we were happy with the services performed. Will use again.

We are so pleased with the makeover our front yard received! Our current flower beds were so overgrown and needed some serious TLC. Green Escapes removed our current flower beds (including a serious tree stump) and then added some gorgeous beds to our yard. They completed this is only two days, price was reasonable, and they were incredibly prompt with their communication regarding the yard. The guys that completed the makeover left our yard in immaculate condition (picked up any excess dirt, swept the driveway and sidewalks, etc). We are so happy with our beautiful yard. Several neighbors have stopped to compliment our makeover!

Our backyard had holes and divots from cutting down several trees over the years and needed leveling. We also needed a drainage system on one side of the house. I had three candidates come out to give us estimates. Green Escapes sent out Jose’ on a Saturday morning. I was impressed already. I liked Jose’s approach, which was to save as much of my grass as possible. Another company wanted to remove all grass, grade the yard, and install new sod. Jose’ did not want to bring any more sod than needed and wanted to wait until the spring to do that. I was gathering quotes in October or November. He was afraid of the sod dying over the winter before it could take root. He proposed having the drain empty at the street, which was my preference. Another company wanted to stop on my side of the sidewalk with the water flowing over the sidewalk. I did not like that idea. I thought it was tacky and inconsiderate of those using the sidewalk. This other company also proposed a much broader network of drainage, which I felt was overkill. This company and another I had come out, gave estimates of close to six thousand dollars. Green Escapes gave a quote of just over three thousand. The only issue I had with Green Escapes was the time it took to get the quote. A couple of weeks passed between the time Jose’ came out and the time the company sent me a quote. By that time, I had hired one of the other companies even though I was not comfortable doing so. I was not going to call a company to beg for a quote. The other companies delivered a quote within one or two days of coming out. As it turned out, I let the first company go after the first day on the job. At the time I still did not have a quote from Green Escapes. I felt I would be doing the job myself with some rented equipment. However, unbeknownst to me, my wife called Green Escapes the day after I let the other company go. Green Escapes called me that day with a quote and followed up the same day with the quote in writing. They were apologetic about the delay in sending a quote. Honestly, I was glad to hear from them since I did not know exactly what I was going to do about my yard after parting ways with the first company. I had a better feeling about Green Escapes from the time Jose’ came out. I liked that they were a bigger company, owned a nursery, and I liked Jose’ and his ideas. Of course, when I saw the quote I could not believe it. The quote was far more detailed than the ones I got from the other companies and, as I said earlier, was almost half as much. I jumped on agreeing to the contract. They contacted 811, the call before you dig agency, which came out within a day to mark utilities so Green Escapes did not hit anything. I paid a portion upfront by mailing a check, but felt fine with paying some upfront. I sent the payment via certified mail with signature. You can deliver the payment to their store in Prairieville, but that was inconvenient for me. Green Escapes let me know when they would be coming to do the work and said they would arrive at 7am. They were true to their word. They showed up somewhere between 6:55am and 7:05am the day they said they would. The crew got to work immediately with no wasted time having coffee, etc. They worked non-stop except for a short lunch break. They leveled all the high and low points of the yard and began on the drainage system. They continued working until 5pm or so the first day. The second day a two-man crew showed up to finish installing the drainpipe from the back corner of the house to the street, which is a considerable distance in my opinion, especially considering the entire pipe trench was dug with shovels. The drainpipe was PVC schedule 40. The sections that were in the area to be drained were constructed of perforated 4-inch pipe with solid pipe connecting the perforated sections to the drain at the street. They do not use the black corrugated drainpipe, because they say it collapses over time. That was the material the other companies planned to use. Schedule 40 PVC pipe is the same material my main sewer line is made of. Although not in the contract, Green Escapes put out several squares of sod over the area water would be flowing into the perforated pipe and around the area water would be flowing out at the street. Very nice of them to do so I thought. I am very pleased with the work. The main question most people ask when considering a contractor is, would you hire them again. My answer to that is, absolutely and I wouldn’t bother calling anyone else to give me a quote on landscape work.

We have used Green Escapes Nursery for almost 15 years since we first moved to Gonzales, LA and moved into a new home. We have always been pleased with the services, quality of staff, and with Don Broussard, the owner, himself. Everyone there is super friendly and willing to go the extra mile when asked. We recommend Green Escapes to everyone who asks about nursery services. We feel we have been truly blessed that we found Don and his company when we first arrived here. We are so pleased with him that we had him do the landscaping of our new home and have contracted him to continue the maintenance here.

3rd time we have used them. Staff is friendly, professional, provided additional input/suggestions during planning stages. Came back promptly to replace 3 plants that were in trouble while other plants were doing excellent. Will be definitely using them again in next projects!

This is the 3rd time we have used Greenescapes. The staff and crew has worked with us each time and understands exactly what we want. The first job was the front yard landscaping back when Don started his business on Airline Hwy. The second job was pavers around the pool. And the third job included extending the pool pavers with a fire pit. The original fire pit that I wanted, as seen in a brochure, was too small. However, Nick came up with a design that met our needs. Also, his design for the patio extension exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend them.

The entire process from initial scope development to final completion went very well. A detailed drawing of the landscape design, including plant names was prepared. Don was very willing to modify and review design on paper several times. The actual work was also done on time very professionally. A few plants that did not survive were promptly replaced as promised in the contract. Will gladly recommend Don and his company for landscape design and installation.

Truly a professional, service oriented company. The plan for my back yard was presented in such a manner as to be easily visualized. There were many options provided from less expensive to expansive. The work itself was also professionally completed. The workers were courteous, on time and extremely hard working. The finished product was beautiful. Plus, they are so easy to work with!

Don Broussard and his crew at Green Escapes Nursery did and amazing job! We really love the fact they showed us a design proposal before moving forward and were able to change plants, lighting options, colors, etc. We had our existing back patio overlayed with tumbled stone in addition to them installing same on a new walkway to a new patio. They constructed a 15x17 pergola over the new patio. We also had irrigation, lighting, landscaping and a sugar kettle fountain installed. Green Escapes crew were prompt every morning and daily they clean up any mess. Our entire project took a little longer to complete, because of course I choose a of out stock stone.... but it is was well worth our wait. We highly recommend them. As the saying goes “Cheap work ain’t good and good work ain’t cheap”.

The design and detail explanation by Mr. Don’s vision was excellent. We wanted landscaping done for the front yard that was different from all of our neighbors and the design exceeded my expectations. The crew did a great job.

We contacted several companies to provide proposals, and was totally impressed with Don B's initial 1-1/2 hour walk thru process to propose a bed design and plant selection options. The competition spent all of 10 min. Then there was a followup meeting at the office to finalize bed design, plant selection, construction schedule, budget and payment terms. The crew was excellent. Steadily working in all that heat and ensuring that the site was cleaned up each evening. They asked for layout clarification when warranted and finished the work on schedule. The plants were installed during the heat of the summer and only one out of hundreds of plants didn't survive... but was replaced with a more suitable selection. Several supervisors and the owner visited the site upon completion to ensure I was satisfied. Bottomline. I have dealt with many contractors over the last year and a half with varied results. My experience with Green Escapes was excellent.

The work Green Escapes has completed for me is high quality and exceeds my always exceeds my initial expectations. Their team is very professional and polite, they keep the areas they're working in clean and neat as the perform the work and once completed you can expect a full review with them to address any concerns - a turn key operation...

They excavated and leveled the yard, so that it had a slight and natural slope toward the street. They also installed a French drain around our patio, which drains out to the sidewalk. They made everything pretty again with sod and mulch, once the drainage work was done. Now, our yard drains PERFECTLY. No more standing water or mud!

Everything went extremely well. Don was courteous and was great to work with. The staff was punctual and did a great product all around. Communication was also great with them. It was a little pricey but the quality of the work stands behind that price.

If I could rate Green Escapes higher than an A then I would. We interviewed several landscaping companies but as soon as we met with Don Broussard we knew that we wanted to go with him. Everything was professional from start to finish and any and all issues were resolved quickly. Don was able to hit our budget right on the head while getting us everything that we asked for. These guys showed up on time and even got my job done ahead of time. We will use them again in the future.

Everything turned out beautifully. It met my expectations. We were very pleased with tree shaping, directions followed completely. Office staff is very nice to work with and I like talking and working with owner and that's what I got. We liked them so much that we are giving them a year under contract to see if they continue to do as good a job as they did to start with. I highly recommend this company.
