I recently purchased a home that came with an automatic gate. Long story short, the gate quit working, and the repairs I attempted to preform myself put the gate even further out of service. I called Electric Gate to take a look at my gate. I had a tech out the same day. My only complaint is that I asked that he call before he came, this tech simply showed up to my house. Luckily someone was home. The tech discovered that the outlet that was powering the gate was dead, the battery had died, the extender screws on the arm needed replacing, and there was an issue with the circuit board. Instead of trying to sell me the marked up battery that he sells, he advised me to take the dead battery back to Walmart (the original still had a receipt) and advised on what type of battery to buy. Instead of trying to sell me an entire new gate opener, the tech told me to return the broken products back to the manufacturer. He said all I would have to do is pay shipping, the manufacturer would make the repairs for free. He gave me the phone numbers to call, and outlined the manufacturers return process. He also offered to call the manufacturer if they refused to deal with me personally. Lastly, he showed me how to reinstall the parts after they were fixed. The tech was very friendly, and knowledgeable. He was obviously more concerned with creating a repeat customer, than getting as much money as possible out of me at one time. This is appreciated. I sent all of the parts off and got them back repaired, bought a new battery, and had an electrician fix the dead outlet. In total this cost me around $185. Because I did not want to mess my gate up again, like I did the first time I tried to repair it. I called Electric gate to reinstall the parts. They sent a new tech out, and he was also friendly and knowledgeable. However, he also called about 2 minutes before he showed up at my house. Not calling ahead is my only complaint with Electric Gate. What I spent on shipping, a battery from Walmart, and an electrician was much cheaper than entire new system. Which Electric Gate could have easily tried to sell me, but did not. I will certainly use Electric Gate again in the future.
