It went very well, there were a few things that happened that were unpredictable but clearly not the contractors fault. All in all, they did a great job. I would definitely recommend them.

The work that they did was really great. They were very friendly and personable at first. But once I paid them it is like a switch flipped. They didn't finish the work that I was most concerned with and they did not call me back. I was even going to have them take a tree once they came back so they would have made even more money once they came back. I was just upset that now it seems like they are hiding from me. I just want to know what is going on, if they are busy I understand, but a simple text message or call to let me know would have been appreciated. It just seems a little shady that once I paid them they stopped working on the trees and now won't return my phone calls. My word of advice is do not pay anyone until the work is complete.
Description of Work: Anytime I have any major work done I always call my neighbors to see if they need work done as well, because companies normally give you a break to do two jobs next to each other at once. I needed some tree limbs trimmed and found another neighbor who did as well. I looked for recommendations for tree service and found Treeco was recommended on Facebook. I called them up and they gave us a nice discount, it was originally suppose to be $900 but took it down to $700. I spoke with Tina and she was very friendly and got the work scheduled for us. They came out and cut limbs and did a great job on most of the trees. There were three trees hanging over my house that were my greatest concern and were the primary reason I called them out. We have so many storms here that I am afraid that they may fall on my house and damage the roof or worse. Once they finished everything else, they started trimming the trees over the house. Tina asked for the money and I foolishly paid her thinking that they would finish the work. They went over to the neighbors house so I called Tina to see if they were coming back to finish the three trees over the house. She said that they would come back and that they just wanted to get started on the other house. After the finished there I saw them leaving. I called Tina again to ask if they forgot. She said that it was late and the boys were tired but would come back tomorrow. She even asked to make sure it was just the three trees that needed finished. They did not come back the next day so I called her to see what was going on. She said that they would be coming. They still did not show up so I called and left a message to ask her when she thought that they would be able to make it out. I received no response so I called a second time and left another voicemail asking if she had received my message and gave her my cell phone number. I still didn't hear anything so I called a third time just wanting to know what was going on and to let me know if they were busy, or just not going to finish the work. Finally a man called me back and said that Tina requested he call me. He said that they had finished the work and that the trees did not need to be trimmed more. I informed him that that was the reason I hired them in the first place and that Tina knew this. I said he would call her and get it worked out. I have not heard from anyone since.

The gentleman was excellent. He came out immediately. He was literally on his way to a family barbecue but he stopped and came out of his way to help me out. He didn't even have a reporter form with him, so he had to write the information down on a piece of paper with his wife's pen. It was really reassuring. He was awesome. He had the crew here early the next morning. They did the work in an hour. It was a big tree. I hadn't realized that it had died. They were quick. I would highly recommend them and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I bought a little one story frame house in 1994 that had two gorgeous pines in the back. The trees were huge then. I'd been cutting limbs off from time to time as they began to scratch the roof. One was about 3 feet from the house. The other was about 3 feet from my neighbor's garage. I have to admit the beginning with Treeco didn't start well - When I first decided I was going to go with Treeco I had difficulty getting a response - i.e. I had to call 2 times to get the insurance and license info faxed to me within the first week, and getting a schedule set. So I did not have high hopes to start, due to poor communication. Hoping to move things along I went ahead and found and contacted the owner of the vacant property near mine and got permission so they could access their property to remove the trees. After a week, seeing that I was getting no response to phone calls (just "he'll call you in a few days") I called a different company who had a similar bid and a start date ready and was about to change and sign up with them. A few days later a Treeco rep called me and I told them that I'd contacted another company with a similar bid and I would go with them. When the owner, Jon Appling, found out about this he immediately called and arranged to meet with me personally to look at the site and from then on he took over the matter and kept me up to date with everything that was going on. He was polite and professional and I knew the job would get done timely once he got involved. These were two HUGE pines, over 100' tall each, on a 75' square lot, surrounded closely by houses, garages and sheds spaced very close together. You couldn't begin to get your arms around one. I'd say easily four feet in diameter at the base. There was barely enough room for their equipment to get through. One of the trees was crossed by power lines and they coordinated the cut off of power with my Cleco and my neighbor in order to fell it. The equipment involved a gigantic crane and experienced, skillful climbers carrying huge saws, a giant loader to cart all the brush and limbs off, a skid steer loader to get it to the truck, many people, working in dangerous conditions, and was completed in about 3 days. The trees were mostly gone the first day - the second day involved the tree with the power line through it, day 3 was stump grinding. I'd just planted a baby Satsuma in the back and they even dug it up to save it because it was too close to the pines. I told them they could stomp on it, but they saved it, though that wasn't in the contract. It's in the front yard now. There were other bushes in the back that I was sure were going to be sacrificed to the effort, but though bent a little (also newly planted and given explicit permission to destroy them if necessary), they're still hardy and healthy. They took care of everything I'd wanted and then some and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Very highly recommended. A+!
Description of Work: Removed 2 pine trees, each over 100' tall, from a very tight area in a residential area with houses very close together with no mishaps. Just for the record I got 3 estimates - 2 were almost exactly what I paid Treeco, another gentleman wanted over $10K.
