While most feel that Robert's does good work, I have found that the work is wreak less and communication poor. While they fix most of their mistakes, the energy and time it takes to deal with them is not worth it for the service they provide. I have had two major issues with my house and a/c unit as a result of their work. And while both have been fixed, the management and ownership is poor in communicating and is unapologetic in taking up more of the home owners time to sit while they fix their mistakes. Too many other companies in the city to have to deal with multiple mistakes whether they fix it or not.

Brad our service tech was really excellent friendly, skilled and efficient. He located the problem, double checked the wiring on our new thermostat and had us back up and running quickly. We called at 7:30 am and the job was complete by 11am. They kept us informed on the techs arrival. I highly recommend Robert this is the second positive experience I have had with them.

The provider said they would be out on 1/21/2016 to service my heater unit which has a fan or blower making weird noises and is vibrating the walls surrounding it. I am pretty sure whatever is wrong will break at any time and I am trying not to use the heater until they get here. By 4 pm I called them to ask if they were still coming out. The female that answered the phone said I was scheduled for today 1/22/2016. At 4pm someone named Mike called to apologize that they had not made it yet (now it is going to freeze tonight) and asked if I could wait until Monday. When I explained that I was waiting since Wednesday for service he explained that if they come out now, 3:50 pm on a Friday, they would have to charge overtime if they ran past normal hours and if they didn't have the part on the truck, since they keep limited parts on the truck, it would cost even more. What the... I've called since Wednesday. I really wish that there was a way to eliminate "no show" contractors that waste our time, costs us money for time off and think it is Ok to not show up as they said. Now its too late for me to get a reliable service company during regular business hours when the temps are the lowest of the year!

They arrived in the window of time that they provided. Found out what needed replacing and did a through check over.

They were able to get me scheduled within a day or two and arrived at the appointed time. They were just there for the most recent visit to perform routine maintenance on the AC units, but have performed weekend repair (expensive, but they were quick to come and the repairs were good). They were informative about the additional work that would be necessary without doing a pressure sale.

The company was professional from beginning to end. Gave me a bid on exactly the work I wanted performed while letting me know what additional work should be performed in the future.

They sent someone out on a Saturday. His diagnosis was inaccurate, thankfully. They gave me the adjusted numbers and sent someone out. The tech that came out was very well-versed about everything Trane-related. I'm a little confused about how I still managed to spend $2200.00 while the unit was under warranty, but ultimately, I was satisfied.

They're always very professional.

A/C works!!

On Sunday inside A/C unit was making a grinding noise and occasionally the blower would grind to a halt. I called the 24 hour hotline and got a prompt reply. The technician diagnosed the problem over the phone as bad bearings inside the blower motor and said that there was nothing he could do on Sunday since the place he would need to go to get a replacement would be closed. He said he would call on Monday. I got a call early on Monday morning. The tech quickly came out, confirmed the diagnosis and recommended replacing the motor. He quoted me $880 to change the motor. Since that seemed quite steep, I opted to pay the service call fee of $160 and get a second opinion. I'm so glad I did! After calling someone else I learned that my unit is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The original tech didn't even bother to call it in to the office and have them take 10 minutes to look up my unit's serial number! Having only bought my house in the last couple of years, I had no idea that it was still covered until I talked to someone who took the time to look it up for me. Out of curiosity, I got online and looked up the part number and found that the motor list price is $220, and it was available from several retailers at $135 plus a few bucks for shipping. That comes out to a nearly 400% markup even after factoring in the labor! The bottom line is that this company was about to charge me $880 to change a motor that should have been covered under the manufacturer's warranty! I was so fed up that I opted to pick up the replacement motor myself, and I was able to get it installed in under an hour. Worked like a charm. Total cost? $4 for a new capacitor.

I hired these guys to fix our A/C unit in the Federal Fibre Mills building in the warehouse district in New Orleans. The maintenance people at Fibre Mills narrowed down the problem to control valve that needed to be replace. Robert's had to order the part which took a little less than a week and they installed it with success. However, when I saw the bill, I was shocked. This one part that the maintenance staff told me costs under $200. However, the total bill was $1,200. That's over $1,000 in labor alone for 1/3 of a day's work. Maybe it's me, but I didn't know this HVAC company charged over $300 per hour! Yikes. I need to change professions.

The job that they did was great. They were super nice. They came right away and fixed what was broken and got the job done. They explained everything. We would use them again in the future.

I added on a couple of warranties, which increased the price. The price was pretty on par. They are a very reliable company. They were very informative and walked me through the whole procedure. It was very well done. They were on time and they were extremely professional.

The process from start to finish was very professional.

I had a very good experience with them. I have had great experiences with them in the past and that is why I went with them again. They were prompt, their price is reasonable, and they are very service oriented.

I think they were professional, and they gave me good service. Their quote was also reasonable compared to others. We did not get the AC fixed anyways as it is very old and it will break down one day. We have used Robert Refrigeration Service Inc in the past and they do fine work.

Robert is excellent at dealing with A/C systems in old, historic homes that were not designed to have heat or A/C. The work guys uncomplainingly spent days sitting in our very hot 3rd floor attic crawl space squeezing in a new unit. They have already followed up on the system to make sure everything is working properly and in the past have always been available for repairs on our previous system.

The employee was professional, and seemed fairly knowledgeable, but in a limited way. He himself did not propose any solutions. However, he considered my own proposal, and ultimately felt it might work (I am not an A/C professional, I'm just a homeowner.). This required a telephone consultation with his boss. In terms of price, I got the distinct feeling that the employee wanted me to feel privileged that he had even showed up. While scheduling the appointment, I was told the fee would be $70. He added an additional $35 to this for "diagnostics," explaining that the $70 is just for him showing up. He stated that he would only look at one A/C unit as that is all this fee would cover. He did not have a "fee book" with him so to be able to calculate additional fees for inspection of additional units. Overall, I got the impression that he was more concerned about the fee, rather than seriously evaluating, and solving my problem.
