I contacted Thomas for an estimate to remove existing shower and replace with tile and showerdoor. He came out the next day and provided me with an estimate. The work was done as discussed. He provided names for plumber and company to install the glass showerdoor. Everything went very well! The work was very good quality and done in a timely manner.

The work started and completed in the time promised and within budget. Thomas' crew was puntual, worked full days, very well mannered and proficient. The project was completed with great professional style; Thomas kept me advised regarding any points that would improve the final product. I completed a thorough due-diligence before hiring Thomas. I found his price to be very reasonable, his 4 references very pleased and now I am pleased with myself for hiring him. We are now enjoying our new bathroom and very elated about the entire experience.

I hired Thomas to re-do a tiny mud room on the second floor of my 1863 Italianate double lot mansion in the Lower Garden District which was converted into multiple apartments back in the 20's. The kitchen measures approximately 6' x 8'. Sound insane? Absolutely. I ordered the appliances from a specialty compact appliance store in Texas. He took care of the rest. He gutted the kitchen and installed: 1) new coffee colored cabinets that he sourced for me 2) stove top range & oven 3) microwave mounted under cover 4) sink 5) built in under counter drawer style refrigerator 6) built in under counter drawer style dishwasher 7) butcher block counter top 8) painting walls, ceiling, cleaning slate floors, & etc. Did I mention the space is 6' x 8'? It is basically a sea worthy yacht galley. It came out absolutely and stunningly fantastic. I wish I could post pictures but I reserve the right of my tenant's privacy. He painted the walls, fixed the plumbing, wrangled all the appliances, and it came out amazing. Beautiful piece of work. He's not you're ordinary Renaissance man. He finished the work in the two week period we specified on the bid. I was speechless when I saw it. He finished it in the two week time span. This doesn't happen in New Orleans. I didn't know what to say. I was stunned. My wife and and I took him and his wonderful wife out for dinner, my treat, when the job was finished. That was really cool.

He was very pleasant and punctual and worked with our unconventional circumstances. They started the work immediately and was done ahead of schedule and the work looked great. He also discussed the best options to proceed further. I was impressed.

I contacted Renaissance Man and three other companies for estimates. All of the estimates were fairly close, but after meeting the owner (Thomas) I felt the most comfortable selecting Renaissance Man to perform the job. His price was honest and reasonable. He was very patient and accomodating with all my requests and questions. Everyday his workers arrived early in the morning (always on time) and worked until the job was done. Great people to work with, always having good ideas to improve the project. I had no concern leaving them in the house working when I had to leave to run errands. Our bathroom was transformed from an outdated cultured marble bath to a granite and travertine dream bath. The finished product is BEAUTIFUL.!! Next project will be the Master bathroom and we have asked Thomas to come back and take over this new project. We are definitely very satisfied withi his work and highly recommend him. He is a person to trust.

I couldn't have asked for better quality work from Thomas and his crew. They spent two weeks completing the job which was exactly the time estimate for work. Thomas came to the house to give an estimate for labor, including electricians and plumbers. He was spot on with their costs. The electrician and plumbers were excellent and offered advice when needed. Thomas also helped me with some ideas. He sent me an estimate that evening. I spent the next day on the internet looking for vanity, sink, toilet, cabinets, and jet tub. I decided that Lowes had the best selection. I went to the Lowes on Claiborne and worked with Julia who helped me with coordinating everything. I decided to purchase off the floor because of the cost advantage. I then went out of town for two weeks. Lowes held all of the items and Thomas picked it up in stages. It was seemless. Thomas ended up making a couple of extra trips to Lowes for me due to a broken sink and wrong shower door. He took away all of the trash and cleaned up every day. I recommend using the Renaissance Man for any renovation project.

I loved that they were able to do the job in a timely manner and fit me in the schedule. They did extra work that wasn't aggreed on without charging extra.

In September of 2012 I hired a "contractor" to turn a 400sf shed into a pool house/guest house. This guy told me it would be a 6-8 week job. 8 1/2 months later and he had gone through $58,000 of the $60,000 agreed on price. I never met a guy with so many excuses. So I fired the guy and then decided to join Angie's List. That was the 2nd best $15 I ever spent. The best $15,000 I ever spent was hiring Thomas Koch to complete the project. I called him on a Monday and he met me on Tuesday to look at the job and give me a price. He told me he thought the job would take 8 days to complete. They started the following Monday and hit it hard with 2 guys doing construction, 3 electricians and 2 plumbers. The plumbers and 2 electricians were done after day 1. The other days he had 4 workers on the job and 1 electrician for most of it. These guys worked from 8:30am until 5-5:30pm. And true to Thomas' word, they were finished in 8 days. The work included: painting the entire interior and ceiling, installing blinds on 5 windows, tiling the huge shower stall and the other parts of the floor that was unfinished, installing a huge glass backsplash in the kitchen, painting kitchen cabinets and installing handles, building and installing a huge Murphy bed, multiple pot lights, repairing an outside brick deck, installing various doors and a pocket door, building storage shelves, fence repair, installing ceiling fan and so much more. The workers were professional and very conscientious and cleaned up their messes every day. Our place looks great and we could not be more satisfied.

From the start Mr Koch was very responsive and professional. He provided a reasonable estimate and he gave good advice about the most cost effective way to achieve our goals. Excellent work. Very respectful of our space. Always prompt and his team was always on schedule. We highly recommend him to you and we would call him back for other work in the future. Very enjoyable experience!

Thomas and his crew were very professional. All work was done as promised and on time. We were very comfortable with Thomas from day one and we will definitely hire him again for for any future projects.

I met with the day after I contacted and received estimated. He begin work few days after I accepted his estimated. He was there every day until he was finished. He and his crew did excellent work, he even did work I didn't ask him to. He swept all floors and put trash away. I am very pleased with the job he did.

Our gym space was renovated in the spring of 2012. The plumbing was done "dumb", the toilet stopped up 6 times in as many months. Thomas Koch responded to my phone call within an hour, had the proposal in the next day, and was on the job the day after. What a stroke of luck o find him.

This is the second time I've used this contractor. He remodeled a bathroom for me this time. He is extremely punctual and made this an enjoyable experience. I will continue to use him in the future for whatever projects I have.

He was extremely reliable. He was on time everyday. He stayed late if he had to everyday to finish what he said he was going to get done. He never asked for more than a week's worth of money. He never said that he needed $30000 for the next couple of weeks. He had itemized receipts on everything. It was an extremely good experience with a contractor. I have already recommended him and he is on my list for future projects.
