Par Contractors

Horrible experience!!!! Owner of Par misrepresented his experience and ability to build a custom home to us. He used inexperienced subs/labor, eliminated details that were on plans without authorization, put angle irons instead of lintels so bricks were sitting on roof, was suposed to put metal roof in low pitch area but put asphalt so nails started rusting out in less than 1 year, had major leaks, had liens placed against our home even though we paid him up front, had serious black mold issue in our house while under construction. Par cost us an extra $80K+ to fix all of the mistakes made to our new home.

They did not provide all of the things they said that they were going to provide. They seemed to be easy to work with in the beginning. I spent $200000 in total but nothing during their last visit. It was built from the scratch. The things that were discussed with the sales crew weren't done like I have no insulation between the first and second floors. It was something that was discussed because I knew that I would have my grand children up there and I would not have the noise level. The air condition and the plumbing company did not do the job correctly because of which there was a leak in the ceiling of the first floor. So, they had to tear it out and that was how I found out that I had no insulation. Otherwise, I would not have known if they did not do what they said that they were going to do. I have even talked to an attorney and the things that the sales team said verbally did not all get put in to the contract. I was not an attorney and so, I did not go over the contract with a fine toothed comb. I just took them at their word which is not meaning much. There really would not be anything else that could be done. The attorney said that it needed to be in writing.

When I talked to the salesman I was supposed to get two AC units. After the house was built there was only one in there. After I complained, the owner said it was not in the contract. They also said I didn't need one and never honored this. They also put in 8 ft. ceilings instead of 9 ft. which was in the contract. There was a lot of other things that went wrong. I had picked out oval medicine cabinets but they put in flat mirrors instead. I did get them to change it out on two of the three bathrooms. They said the third one couldn't be done. I was not happy with their service and regret using them. I would not use them again.
