We needed a bathroom faucet installed in an old vanity. Despite several obstacles that John faced because of that he managed to overcome each obstacle and did an excellent job on the installation. He was efficient, thorough and quite pleasant to talk to. I felt like a friend was visiting me and solving a problem for me. Kelly kept us informed as to when John would arrive and answered all our business related questions. I thought that it would be difficult to find a handyman that was reasonably priced and dependable but I was very wrong. I will use John's services for a variety of other things that we need done around the house. I feel like we found a gold mine as far as home repairs are concerned and we've already started a list for the future. I would encourage anyone who needs John's services to give them a call. They guarantee their work but I'll guarantee you myself that you will be treated fairly and have your projects done efficiently and as promptly as their schedule permits. So if you need a handyman in the New Orleans area One Man and a Toolbox is your answer.

We had just purchased rental property and needed to get a long list of things done before it was ready for rent. Kelly and John did a fantastic job for us. They showed up on time, worked hard for several days and finished all the things we needed. And we go the renter in quickly. Without them the house would still be standing empty. I will use them again for other projects. Thanks Kelly/John for all your help!

I had an entire list of stuff I needed done as I just moved into a new home. I prioritized the list and 2 guys just zipped along knocking out the items 123. I really did have lots of things to get done - there was no standing around with these guys. We were lucky that they didn't run Into any unforeseen issues to slow thing down. The owner is ex military - professional and courteous. An honest contractor.

John got back to me quickly and fix it right away. I was VERY pleased at his responsiveness and the quality and care of his work on that particular project. I liked him so much that I asked him back to do additional work in the condo that I just bought. I'd hoped to have some repairs done before I moved in on March 1st of this year. He assured me that he'd get the job done by a certain date. I didn't hear back from him for over a month which was disappointing. I'd left several messages via voice mail and text. So, I moved into the place without the repairs. Over a month later I heard back. It seems he had taken a job out of town but assured me that he was back and ready to take on my list of projects. I made my list and called him back and even texted over requested pics of the needed repairs. I didn't hear back. After a number of tries, I finally reached John on Saturday, August 3rd. He apologized again for not getting back to me then told me how business was booming with the specials coupon that he had on Angie's List. I let him know that I was happy for him, but was disappointed that I'd now taken a back seat to new business, especially since I was paying regular price. He assured me that he'd have his new helper get back in touch with me that evening and get me on the schedule right away. I didn't hear back from either that evening and attempted to call that evening and the next day, leaving messages both times. As of this writing (September 12th) I have yet to hear back from John or anyone from the company. I finally made the majority of the repairs and did the handyman type projects myself. John is very likable and does a good job when he shows up; however, my experience is that he doesn't keep his commitments which left me hanging for what is now 5 months. I'd have preferred that he simply told me that he didn't want to or couldn't take my job rather than stringing me along with promises that weren't kept. Moreover, I was tossed aside for new business. I don't call that good customer service.

They had quite a list to get accomplished in the 4 hour timeframe. They were amazing and exceptionally polite! They divided and conquered the list of tasks I provided. They got everything completed on time and work very well as a team! I am very pleased with the work and very happy with my experience with this company. This Big Deal was a GREAT Big Deal and well worth the money that I spent! They were very honest and very upfront about everything that they were going to be doing. They were also punctual and professional! I very much appreciate all of their work, especially since I had to reschedule with them multiple times with no complaint from them. I WILL be calling their business in the future to utilize their services! I just can't say enough about them! They are great! They do give senior citizen discounts if you don't have any coupons/Big Deals!

I cannot recommend One Man and a Toolbox enough!! Ty was super professional and helpful, and went out of his way to ensure that I was happy with the work. I plan on hiring him to fix some windows and construct a screen door. So glad to have found them!!

He provided exactly what he promised and more. I had a few additional things I needed done and not only did he do them, but did not charge me for them. When I ran into a problem with another contractor on the job, he offered to step in and do the work. I was able to work things out, but it was nice to have him available if needed. He is an honest, hardworking man who brings the same type of workers with him. Ty and Jimmy worked on my job and they were both professional, courteous, and clean in everything they did. I would like to provide the highest recommendation possible for John and his organization.

Owner came with the worker and discussed all the jobs that needed doing. I didn't have 8 hrs of work so he suggested they power wash my patio, driveway, sidewalk, etc. The owner stayed to replace two light switches then left the worker. Both did fine work and will be recommended to friends and family. I asked at a kitchen faucet be repaired but it could not be completed as a family member called with a medical emergency and I (and the worker) had to leave in a hurry.

This business was spectacular! They were very prompt in coming out for the service. They did the work flawlessly and gathered the necessary pieces I did not have themselves. They were very concerned about doing the job the right way. I called them out again for another service because I was in a jam and they were able to come out the same day and fix my problem. Frankly I didn't have anything at hand for him to do since I was focused on the sheetrock damage. He asked if I would be interested in having his person (Jimmy) power wash my house? Jimmy did the entire house, carport, and even got on the roof to do the 2nd floor area! He finished early and asked what else I needed done. I am in a wheelchair and had a ton of little things that needed to be done - he took care of each and every one. For example, my outside umbrella had been installed, he fixed that. Birds were make nests on the top of the brick columns on my carport - he cleaned out the old nests and put bricks on the top of the openings so they wouldn't come back. When he power washed my house, he noticed several areas of the fascia where nails were coming out, as he power washed, he re-nailed the fascia. I have a large rose garden that is raised (12x12) - he got in the garden, removed weeds, added some soil, and then put in new mulch. Everything I asked Jimmy to do, he did it with a smile and was extremely thorough, fast, and efficient. John & Jimmy were so good that I have now entered into a $3,000 contract for them to repair the termite damage and other work. They should be finished this week (on time & on budget). I will be back to rate them on the new work. But, at this point they have done everything they promised - on time, cleaned up their work, and gone above and beyond my expectations. I can't even begin to express how happy I am with their work. In this day & time it is truly refreshing to find people that you can trust to do what they say. One Man & a Toolbox are just fantastic!

We used One Man and a Toolbox earlier this summer. We were pleased with the work to the point that we called them again and are just as happy. Kelley returns your calls. John is prompt and personable. He explains everything as he goes along, answers all questions and shows you money-saving tips in the process. We will use them again!

Within hours of buying the deal, I was contacted by the company to set up an appointment date. This impressed me very much. Many times I buy a deal (not necessarily from Angie's List), and I don't ever hear from the company. Kelly Heald was courteous and very professional as she went through my list of to do's and setting up the time for the appointment. She and the handyman arrived on time and after reviewing the items to be fixed, immediately set to work. She rant to Home Depot to get a missing part and the handyman began his work. I had two ceiling fans installed, a running toilet fixed, a fence that needed repair, a front gate fixed, an area of the ceiling patched. Everything was done in a professional manner and I am extremely pleased with the quality of their work!

I would use the companies service again.

Arrived on time and completed the work as quoted. Removed all debris and left area clean. John and Kelley are wonderful to work with and we recommend them highly. We will definitely call on them again. We are VERY pleased with the work and the professionalism. We cannot say enough good things about them.

They came out a quoted me and I went with them because they had the best price. He did a temporary fix for a window that I will need replaced. He said it should hold up for about a year. He was very knowledgable, in fact I learned a lot about my house while he was here.

So far, they've been quite helpful! They responded to me quite quickly, and they've been punctual. Also, they were very professional.

I asked them to check the switch, and the switch seemed to be wired fine at first. They fan?s motor had actually burnt out. John?s wife, Kelly, works with him and came first to remove the fan. They are both extremely polite, professional, and courteous. Kelly first removed the fan, and when she took the last piece of the fan off, the wires fell out and sparked and my breaker went off. The breaker wouldn?t turn on then. Kelly called John and he told her that he would take care of it once he arrived. John arrived and asked who installed the fan previously. He said that the previous contractor had installed the wiring incorrectly. Even the switch was not wired properly as well. John finally corrected all the problems to the breaker and the wiring! I was so pleased because he even put in a new switch for me, corrected the wires in the switch and the fan! I am planning to use them for multiple projects in the future! They did such an amazing job and I was so pleased with them. They cleaned everything and everything worked out beautifully!

John had some good suggestions for a problem with the fence and the roof and did excellent jobs, even dealing with the problem neighbors. Once he had a look at the toilet problem, he determined it was just a matter of tightening rather than a repair/removal and not only fixed it but didn't charge for it! I have other projects for him and an very pleased with his competence, honesty and workmanship. I also have one issue on my list he was honest enough to say he didn't handle, and I appreciate that too.
