Mr. Barry is a keeper, I had so much fun working with him. He did an excellent job with all of my chores that I just haven't had a chance to tackle. I'm looking forward to him returning in the near future.

Guys were on time and very professional. They went to Lowes to pick up some of the materials they needed (I had already purchased a new attic ladder). Attic ladder was tricky as I have an older house and the opening was not perfectly square. They got it all done and everything looks great. I will defiantly use this company again when I have another list of repair items.

I agreed to having two men scheduled to come for half a day for $425. They came on time and were very professional and efficient. I thought that the cost was fair considering all that they fixed. I have had 2 doors that have never closed well since the house was built and now they work perfectly! They clearly knew what they were doing. They even finished a little early and charged me only $400. Before the men came, I sent a list of items needing to be addressed so that the people who came were trained in what I needed. It worked great. I would definitely use this company again.

I had a very positive experience with Kelly and Bud. They called me back very quickly. I can't tell you how many "handymen" I had tried to hire over the years. Either friends of friends or businesses I found on the internet. Never got a return call or they never set a start date for the work. Kelly contacted me within one business day of my phone call and Bud came out just a couple of days later to assess the work and give me a quote. I received the quote very promptly. Once we started working, Bud showed up when he said he would. If there was any deviation (let's face it, there always is), he called or texted ahead of time. No surprises after the fact! I felt the pricing was very fair. I spent approximately $2,000 with One Man and a Toolbox but that included all of my materials.

I never got a return call from this service provider.

First off. I am incredibly pleased with Russell and his crew and the entire company. Before going into details, I'd like to say I highly recommend One Man and a Toolbox and will be using them again as soon as I have a new list of things to do. I bought a fixer-upper home so that should be sometime in the next week or so! From setting up the quote on the phone, to Russell coming out to do the quote and then having him come back to do the work - the entire process was spotless! I've dealt with quite a few contractors in the last year and these folks take the cake. Quote process: I emailed One Man and a Toolbox through Angieslist to get a quote. I followed up with a call as well. It was great! They offered a next day quote. When Russell came out he was very efficient but spent the extra time needed to make sure the work they were quoting met my personal needs. We walked the entire house going over the minutae of the work to be done. By the time he finished I was excited to have them work on my house. The quote was very fair given the damage that needed to be repaired. Work: When Russell showed up to lead the crew on the work day I knew I was in good hands. He and his crew showed up early. Given that it was a Friday, they worked through lunch and stayed on task for 9 straight hours to finish a little early. Never during the process did they take any shortcuts and they constantly re-reviewed their own work to make sure it still looked good as it all dried. It was a lot of work! The finished product is so beautiful. My only regret is not having a longer list for them! They did carpentry, minor repair to other woodwork, electrical, insulation and painting as part of this job so I'm fairly sure there's not much they can't do and do well. WILL USE AGAIN AND EXCITED TO DO SO.

I have used One Man and A Tool Box last year and knew that I wanted them to come back when I needed any other repairs. My 2 front columns were starting to rot and needed to be switched out. I had not doubt that they were the ones to call first! John and Bud came out and measured and verified the new type of column I wanted and they went to Home Depot and purchased all the needed materials, installed, caulked and painted in one day! Great job, and I'm getting another list together!

Excellent experience form the initial visit to provide an estimate to the completion of the work. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant and professional.

They do have insurance. These people are awesome. It's been absolutely wonderful. My husband was an amateur radio operator. The room was waist high. He knows what this stuff is all about. He threw out all the junk. This would be helpful to anyone who is a widow of an amateur radio operator. He is going to come here again on Thursday to check everything up and get it ready for me to move. They are going to paint my railings. They replaced part of the fascia board on the garage. He is going to fix my fence. The guy that they sent me can do anything. He is coming once a week for the duration until the house is ready to put on the market. I am very happy with them. The last time I used him, he was here for two hours. The price depends on how much needs to be done. The price was $100. Plus, there were some supplies that they needed, so I paid for that. This guy says that he will tell me the truth and that I probably could sell this but it's worth carrying across the country. He told me that if it was him, he would toss it out. I actually trust what he is saying. They are looking at it from my point of view. I'm going to have to move this stuff; I'm not going to be able to sell all of it at once. There is just too much. I'm going to have to pay to move it. He is trying to look at it from my point of view. I felt like he has been really straight up with me. I told them I want them to come once a week. I gave up the housecleaning service for these people. I couldn’t afford both. I said that I need these people more than I need the housecleaning service.

Excellent. Russell phoned to let me know arrival time, was very professional. Went from one job to another until all completed within 4 hour time frame. I will be using them again for other repairs.

First of all, people those who my husband and I dealt with at One Man & Toolbox LLC are all experienced professional and quality people. Thanks John, Kelley, Russell, Bud and Wes. Since my husband and I both are retired, we were there during the entire project days. We appreciate their professional recommendations, didn't have to worry anything and enjoyed their company throughout the project. Although the ceiling after light box removal came out not so pleasant they quickly moved to the Plan B and painted the entire ceiling, came out excellent.

Client was happy, we were happy. The job was completed on time and under budget. Great work.

Highly recommend One Man and a Toolbox. We were so impressed we are using them to do renovations to a new home we are purchasing. They were 100% professional and efficient.

He went above and beyond his contracted time. His name is Randy and he was amazing and I would highly recommend his services to others. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely hard working.

The employee who reported to our house was efficient, and the entire list (which I thought was much too long to be completed in a day) was done by the time I got home that evening. The owner took time to review the employees work, and even helped him finish up on the last project. I was surprised and impressed that they completed the entire list, and as soon as I can come up with another 8 hours of tasks that I don't want to do, they'll be getting another phone call.

This is the second time that we have employed One Man & A Toolbox, and just like the first time, the service was pronominal. We requested that the same individuals (crew lead by a gentlemen named Bud) that had performed the first job be assigned to perform the above listed repair; Ms. Kelley, the lady that coordinates all of the work was very accommodating and assigned Bud & his son "Lil Bud" to perform the work. As with the first job, Bud & his crew arrive on time as promise; knew exactly what to do; wasted no time or effort performing the tasks and when finished, cleaned up after themselves. Everyone associated with One Man & A Toolbox conducted themselves as the true professionals that they are! As I stated above, this is the second time that we have employed One Man & A Toolbox, but it will not be the last. Finally, if it is not already evident, my wife & I are very please with this company and the services that they provide and have recommended them to our relatives & neighbors. I'm certain that anyone who used their services will be likewise pleased.

In the middle of closing on the sale of my house I had some repairs that the buyer requested. This had to be done quick as I was in the middle of moving out of state. I called there office and we agreed on a date. . . 3 or 4 days from the time I called and they showed up on time and completed the job. Very responsive and professional and I found the pricing to be reasonable. And most important they clean up after they are finished - nothing laying around.

The owner / handyman was punctual and professional and because the "repair" was so minor did not want to charge for the service but we paid anyway for his time and for being honest and reliable.

From the first contact, dealing with One Man and A Tool Box was such a delight. Kelley addressed all my questions and quickly schedule a time for John to give me an estimate. He provided many suggestions and options, which allowed me to make a fair and informed decision. (He even offered to order and pick-up with windows for me) This was one of my first home repairs that I had to handle myself, and John gave me such a feeling of trust that I knew going with them was the right choice! Bud was the technician that come out and completed the repairs, and he did a wonderful job. He took great pride on making certain my home remained clean and free of dust and debris. I felt very comfortable having him in my home, and even had him join me for lunch one day. I am so pleased with the work this company provided, and I simply love opening my windows and enjoying the evening breeze! I will be calling One Man and A Toolbox for many years to come, and I am already working on another list of repairs for after the holidays!!

I paid them in full and there are still things that have not been to my satisfaction. They had a very poor attention to detail and very poor attention to customer satisfaction in handling this matter. Bottom line is that payment was made in full as of 9/30/14 with work having been started in August. It is now 12/19/14 and there are still two items of detail to be completed. Each conversation with the company has them stating "our guy will contact you to schedule", but then we still have to call back since no effort has been made to schedule. Also to note, is that we have never refused to be available or offer access to the house for workers to come. Just looking to have the project fully completed as agreed upon. I know no one that would hire a contractor service and feel that five months is an acceptable time frame to complete a bathroom!

On time for quote, on time for work, completed on time. Full explanation of all costs and materials (separate from the quoted work) provided. The most exceptional characteristic of this local repair company is their attitude; they did everything to ensure satisfaction. Ceiling pattern never matched to other parts of non-repaired ceiling--- this is the only reason a B was given for quality. I plan to call them to repaint the entire ceiling and match the pattern (the only way it will match, I believe), as I trust they did everything to make us happy (two additional visits repainting, etc.). I trust their judgement and will hire them again for future work.

It was great. I had never done this before. These guys were prompt, neat, very helpful and they worked well with my dog. I didn't know what I wanted but having done so many bathrooms they were full of good ideas. I started out just wanting to redo one bathroom but it looked so good and they were so fast and nice I asked them to do the other one. They did and while doing that I asked about a few other things. They did it all in only a few days. Everything looks wonderful. I have more work to do and will definitely use them.

The two workers were prompt and courteous. The work was completed very quickly. Very satisfied with the services provided and the price.

I called on a Friday, they came the next day to my house. The company informed me of who would be coming and when. Glad I didn't have to wait days. At about 5-10 mins past the appt time, the serviceman called me and informed me he would be a little late, last job took a little longer than anticipated. That was no problem for me, I appreciate the communication. Bud and Bud (father and son) arrived, they went straight to work. I had to run to Lowe's to get a few materials while they started with what they had. They finished the job very quickly. They were very friendly and considerate. It was just me, my daughter and my niece in the house and I felt very safe with them in my home. I will definitely call them again, and more than likely request Bud and Bud :) Tracey Bommer

Fair warning, this is a little lengthy. Long story short: this company deserves your business, and One Man and a Toolbox will definitely get my future business. I was absolutely thrilled with the service and with the individuals at One Man and a Toolbox. I had read the 2 negative reviews here but thought the company gave a good response and attempted to resolve the issue. I understand that things don't go smoothly 100% of the time, and the two negative reviews appeared to come when Kelley and John were out on vacation. So, I figured I'd give them a try. I was looking for a reliable, trustworthy handyman to help me keep up my home now and throughout the future. I had small-scale repairs to do and thought I could try someone else if this company didn't work to my satisfaction. My first contact was with Kelley. She has a friendly personality, which endeared me to the company right away. I summed up my needs, and she set up a meeting with John. A few days later (on a Wednesday), he came to my home, looked at my list and around my home, and gave me a few estimates. John was straightforward. I got an honest, no b.s vibe from him right away. I had thought a few repairs would be quite drastic. For example, I thought I would have to replace a whole door and door frame and get a new garbage disposal (just to name two). He broke it down for me. "I'm not going to upsell you," he promised. I admit I was skeptical at first, but he won me over. John even showed me a trick with the garbage disposal, and now it works--for free! John told me that my to do list was nothing more than a "punch list," a list of small repairs in and around the home often created when selling a home. About a minute after John left, I called Kelley to set up a date. After our meeting, I felt so sure I had chosen the right company that I did not ask around for comparison estimates. That Friday, only two days later, she had Randy and Russell come to my home. Immediately, I got a good feeling about these two guys (it helped that my dog loved them!). Russell even stopped my dog from making an escape through the garage! I prioritized my punch list and showed them around. The fellas got to work right away, assessing the repair projects and making a list of materials needed. At this point, maybe because I'm a little jaded with repairmen in general (auto/home, etc.), I'm thinking materials are going to costs hundreds, and these guys are just going to spend all day doing nothing. I thought for sure I'd be left with a list of repairs undone. Well, off we went to Home Depot. I followed along because I had to get some things anyway, and, this way, I could pay for the materials directly on my credit card (hello skymiles!). At the end of the day, I spent less than $75 in materials. Russell and Randy returned to my home (I stayed out doing errands). I trusted them to do what they needed to do without my having to watch their every move. As I came in and out, I would peek at the progress they were making. I did not have one negative thought or concern. One job (the door/door frame) took longer than expected because the previous homeowner had not installed the door frame correctly. Russell gave me some options regarding the drywall cracks caused by poor drywall taping and by the shaking door frame. I chose the less intensive, cosmetic fix. The other option included repainting the whole ceiling, which I was not prepared to do at that time. He did not try to sell one or the other. Russell simply told me the options, broke down what they included, and left the choice to me. The guys worked together when necessary. When solo work was possible, they worked alone. At the end of the day, they finished everything on my list entirely. The only thing I need to do now is apply some paint outside and on the inside door. Randy gave me a few hints on how to keep my fencing from rotting at the bottom (keep the mud away as much as possible) and told me how to keep an eye out for termites around the slab and plumbing. I paid over the phone to Kelley and expressed how thoroughly happy I was with the service. At some point during the day, my neighbor stopped by to ask for a business card. She noticed that I had left these guys in my home to work while I went off on errands. I went next door and gave her the card John had given me. She told me that my apparent trust in these guys was a positive sign to her about the integrity of this company. I spoke quite highly and gave One Man and a Toolbox a glowing report. I'm not sure if she'll contact One Man and a Toolbox as her son does most of her home repairs, but I know for sure she won't regret it if she does. In a few months (after the holidays and some recovery from that), I plan to contact One Man and a Toolbox for the bigger projects I have planned for my home--new cabinets, new flooring in the bedrooms, new windows, and configuring a permanent ladder for my attic (I have a small 24"x 24" opening). I will provide updated reviews when I get around to these projects. If you've read this far and are still skeptical about this company, I suggest you do what I did. Try them out for a few small-scale repairs. Let them win you over like they did me. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
