One Man & A Toolbox LLC

We discovered that our exterior window casing had some rot and was attracting termites. Initial contact went very smooth. They were prompt in sending someone out to look at the damage and work out timing with our termite contract so that we could treat and repair without having a significant amount of time without a casing. They told us it would be $175 for the initial inspection, but if we decided to have the work done through them, that amount would be included in the overall price. The gentleman who showed up was polite and prompt, and completed the evaluation within an hour. However, he did leave rotten wood, paint chips and other debris all over our driveway and front lawn. An estimate of $950 was given for the work within a couple of days. Work began on time and soon after. The worker had completed some of the woodwork prior to arrival, so it went quickly. The estimate stated that it would include installation, caulking, painting and cleanup. The work was completed within a few hours, and looked good. However, the caulk lines were very messy and not cleaned up with paint that we provided to the worker. Also, wood shavings, scraps, paint chips, and other debris was once again all over my driveway, yard, and in my plants. We had to spend time after he left painting the caulk to match and cleaning out paint chips from my plants and yard, and sweeping up. When the invoice arrived, it was for nearly $1300. They did not account for the initial payment, and materials were not included in the initial quote. After we talked to them, they did take off $100 for the work performed, but not the amount previously discussed. After we looked, the invoice did state that we were to provide for materials, or reimburse them. However, it was not made clear that this was not included in the quote. Overall, the service was prompt and responsive, and the people we spoke with were very polite. However, the price was a little steep for the work required. The final total was not what we expected after our initial discussions with the provider. Additionally, for the amount we paid, and common courtesy, I would expect them to take more care with cleanup and details.

I called on a Tuesday and requested help with some furniture movement and assembly since I am pregnant and not able to handle the items that needed tackled. Lucky for me, they were able to send someone out the very next day. Customer service was prompt and courteous, and West was the handyman they sent over. He was on time (and waited for me, as I was a tad late getting back from taking kids to school), communicated with me the whole time, extremely quiet (I had no idea he was actually working), very tidy leaving no mess and extremely efficient. I couldn't have asked for better service and will definitely be using the company again! Thank you!

Barry was great. Very responsive. Scheduled my work as fast as possible. And on the day of service, I was being held up at my doctor's office -- and Barry waited for me. That was extremely understanding of him. Barry was efficient. Great guy to work with. The job was to install about 30' of a fancy system to hang pictures and paintings. Barry was diligent to learn how the system worked and to install it properly. He did a small 'test' section first -- and learned the quirks of the system. Then the rest was easy. I am so happy with the results. And I am so happy with "One Man + a Toolbox". I am 66 yrs old and don't want to do DIY projects anymore -- so One Man is a perfect fit for me. I have three more projects that I want One Man to complete for me. This company's service was great. Fairly priced. Responsive service. Couldn't be happier.

I emailed Kelley very early Thursday morning about sending someone out immediately to reattach a whirlybird or at least cover the hole especially with the anticipated inclement weather. She responded quickly and sent Eddie out to handle the job. The job was completed before noon and prior to the downpour later on that day. I am so grateful to OM&ATB for once again providing me with excellent service at a reasonable price.

I would suggest that they use covers when painting or sheet rocking. I clean the floors and the next time they came the lack of concerns bothered me. I had to clean the cabinets etc.

I have used One Man and A Tool Box a couple times in the past, and have always been very pleased with every technician they send. Most recently, the sent Jon and he did a great job! I have come to rely on One Man and A Tool Box whenever I need any work completed.

It was an extremely timely response, and their prices were reasonable. They came out very quickly and appeared to have thorough knowledge of what they were doing. They were extremely competent in their delivery of the repair services. They identified the problem and immediately set about fixing it. I was so very impressed with the quality of this service, with the manner in which they dealt with me, and their commitment to doing a quality job at a fair price. It was exceptional.

Allen arrived before his appointment time so he could get set up and running on time. He did a fine job on a house that had not been cleaned in a good while and he ask if I saw any problem areas as he was working. I had no mess to clean up and he gave me their business card listing the services they do and said they would welcome my business in the future. It was a very smooth transaction.

He had to get a couple of items which took longer than expected, but he made up the time. Helpful, explained the work, will definitely call them again and have recommended firm to others.

Our wood flooring was rotten near our rear door. The entrance is marble and the wood flooring starts about 2' away. They found the source of the leak & sealed the bricks where the leak was occurring and resealed and replaced the thresh hold before they began the repair. Once the source of the leak was repaired, they replaced the 5/8" plywood with treated material, installed a moisture barrier, and replaced the wood floor. The damage was in a high profile area and we were concerned that the repair would be obvious. We put these floors down 5 years ago and even though the repair is in a high traffic area, you can't even tell a repair was done. Additionally they removed some lattice work on our carport that had been around for 30 years. You can't tell there was ever any lattice on the carport and the swept, collected all the debris, and took it with them when they left. Finally, they replaced an outside electrical outlet that had been broken for years. Jon & John were the two professionals that did the work on our house. They were courteous, professional, and extremely respectful of our home. I can not begin to express my appreciation for their work and satisfaction with how it was done. I haven't used One Man & A Toolbox in a while. But for all my friends and others looking to get all those "little things done", these are some terrific people to work with.

They were here on time and did their work as asked. I was not here to monitor but when I came back everything was clean and tidy with nothing to take care of afterwards. I hate when I still have to go around other providers and take care of stuff after they leave. But this was fantastic!!

The painter arrived on time and purchased the paint needed for the job and provided all other material (drop cloths, brushes,...). He finished the job in a day. The room looked great after he was finished. I was impressed with this company because they were contacted around the Christmas holidays on short notice and were able to provide a painter to paint the room before Christmas.

Eddie was great! Showed up on time and was very polite and friendly. He did everything we had on the list and cleaned up after himself as well. We had them come in after another contractor did not complete the job right. We were very happy with the outcome and happy with the work that was completed. Paint and caulk is something we absolutely hate to do; so was glad to find someone good at it at a reasonable price.

After talking to John on the phone and telling him that my tenants were having trouble with the washer and dryer (and that I was out of town), he immediately offered to call my tenants and work with them directly to go to the house and assess any repairs needed. He took all of the hassle out of it for me! Both he and Kelly called me to update when they left messages for the tenant to keep me in the loop. John was able to meet with the tenants the next day and found that the problem was very basic and did not really require any repairs. The gas was turned off from the dryer and the washer was just not being operated properly. He took the time to adjust the dryer connection and educate the tenant on how the washer is designed to work since it was different than the new tenant was familiar with. John called me to let me know all was resolved. After asking how much I owed him, I was surprised and thrilled to hear him tell me that he was NOT charging me for anything! John and his team were awesome to deal with and I will absolutely call on him again when needed. I highly recommend their handyman services. It is not often anyone can claim such a GREAT experience with any service provider. I appreciate John and his professionalism!

After submitting a complaint to Angie's List on Monday, January 4, 2016, I was contacted by the provider later that afternoon. The provider's office personnel was very polite and professional. She assured me that the worker would contact me as soon as possible to complete the job. The job was completed on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 (which was the earliest day I was available). I am very pleased with the work that was done. My house looks great! Thanks to Angie's List for contacting the provider, and thanks to One Man and A Toolbox for promptly responding.

Bud initially came out to our house to look over the renovations that we needed done to our bathrooms and our bedroom. He was very accommodating and promise us that he would do the best job possible for us. We trusted that he would not let us down. He and his partner, Max, started the job on a Wednesday. This was after telling us that they would start on Monday. Initially, the job looked like it was going okay. Midway through the job, we noticed that the job was looking sloppy and not professionally done. The grout in the ceramic tile looked white instead of grey. They painted white paint over brown doors and frames but the brown color was still showing through. There are other spots on the walls and doors where their painting does not look good. Some spots even look like they weren't painted. Toward the end of the job, we were very displeased with the problems that we were having. Since the job was taking so long, we asked my husband's parents to come meet with Bud and Max to iron out the problems. After seeing the problems, they contacted the owner of One Man & A Toolbox, John Heald, so that he could come out to survey the problems for himself. Instead of coming out himself to view the job, he contact Bud. Bud showed up to our house in less than an hour. He was so mad that he picked a fight with me. He started shouting at me in my bedroom. He acted very unprofessionally. My husband's parents stayed at our house as long as they could to let him finish the work. We are displeased with the job. We contacted One Man & A Toolbox on December 27th. We included several pictures of the sloppy paint job that they did. The paint is already starting to peel. Also, one of our bathroom doors is hard to close and open. The fan that was installed in our bathroom continues to make noise. We made them aware of this in our December 27th communication. We have not gotten any response from them to date.

Appears to be something i need to report to a consumer protection agency.

My experience with One Man and a Toolbox was very rewarding. They were organized, pleasant, open communications, and most of all honest and trust worthy. I thank them for their two way trust, the price of the job and the additional work asked of them. Their workers respected my home despite the awful working conditions. Looking for high quality service? I recommend one man and a toolbox. Allow them to trust you, I know you can trust them.

I had originally purchased a special through Angie's list. I sent them a message to schedule the work, and someone did call me back. When I tried to call them back, for whatever reason, the number kept saying that the "number was not in service". I was so upset that I paid $100 for what I thought was nothing! After I wrote my first review, Kelly immediately sent me a message and called me. I have never dealt with any company that rectified a problem so quickly, and did so with such a genuine interest in making it right. She had no idea why the number said that - they have had the same number forever. Her main concern was not to figure out why the number said that, but to get someone to my house to honor the special. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that didn't focus on making excuses, trying to explain why something happened, or minimizing the situation - all she wanted to do was make it right. Soon after, and weather permitting - Jeremy showed up to complete the job. The coupon was for one hour, but I could add on more time if I wanted. I had him do the first hour to see how was his work, and how much could he get done in an hour. He was amazing! He was nice, very professional, and did a fantastic job! I ended up adding on 2 1/2 more hours! Will definitely use them again for more than just pressure washing. The pricing was fair, everyone that I dealt with was very friendly, responsive, and extremely professional! In the future, if there is anything that I need done at my house, they will be my first phone call!

He arrived on time and did a wonderful job. He was courteous and professional and probably went overtime and did not ask for extra. The best service I have ever had and I am someone who has had to fight to get good service. I advise anyone to hire "One Man and a Tool Box. Best Detail: He said I will not start the time until I get all set up. NOW tell me, where can you find that kind of service?

It went great! Highly recommend! We went over my list before the job started and discussed it in detail so I knew exactly what to expect. They over delivered and the work done was the highest quality! On time too! Great experience!!

Eddie was great, very thorough pressure washing and even went beyond the allotted hours (came back the next day) to finish up. Our house is tall and has porches on both the front and back so was time consuming to wash.

They did excellent work. The price was a little higher than other handymen I've used, but I needed the work done quick to satisfy my insurance company. They were responsive, fast, and did a quality job. You might pay a little more, but I highly recommend this service.

Took advantage of having Handymen for the day. Kerry and Eddie arrived on time and completed all tasks on to-do-list. Main areas of repair included repairing cracks in ceiling and walls in two bedrooms and hallway. Installed new light fixture in attic. Repaired and replaced siding that was damaged on side of two story house. They did an excellent job, did not leave a mess. Protected floors and furniture while repairing drywall.
