DO NOT USE LAGNIAPPE SERVICES! We hired them to do two simple things - remove poorly constructed brick stairs/install low cost replacement to pass city inspection and correct venting of bathroom fans that were not previously installed to code. Mr. Gondolfo met my husband at our house and gave us a verbal estimate of $600 total for this work. We felt this was reasonable since it was two small, relatively simple projects and we agreed to have him do the work. During the work, he then informed my husband that the stairs were going to cost $1300 (W**?!?). My husband told him we didn't want anything but basic, low cost stairs (this is three stairs to step out of the house into the side yard) and that we weren't willing to pay $1300 for the stairs. He agreed to do them for closer to his original estimate around $700 for the total bill. The work was "complete" (with trash and remnants left all over our yard and only one out of three vents corrected). We then went on to fixing other issues within our house with other contractors and didn't hear anything from Mr. Gondolfo until four weeks later when he sent us a nasty email saying we weren't following their payment policies. My husband and I were a bit confused b/c we'd never received an invoice or bill so we requested a bill and it was dropped off later that afternoon. We were ready to pay until we opened the invoice and found out he was now charging us for $1350!?!? for three basic wood steps that we could have bought from homedepot for less than $50. Attached to his invoice was a letter stating that he had arbitrarily raised his rates after completing our work and that we now owed him payment at this new rate. We called to explain that it was an unacceptable policy to raise rates post completion of the work and without communicating when we'd specifically stated we only had a budget of $600 to complete the work. We offered a compromise of $800 which was more than fair for the poor quality of work and Mr. Gondolfo replied that he would come over and remove the stairs unless we paid the full amount. We've installed locks and consulted our lawyer who informed us that if he did remove the stairs, we could call the police and report a crime. We've sent $800 to Lagniappe Services and hope that we NEVER have to deal with them again. Save your time and money and USE SOMEONE ELSE!

Crew arrived as planned. Went to work immediately. The owner spent the first 2 hours overseeing and performing work. He left and the remainder of the crew finished and cleaned up over the next 3 hours. Some minor damage done to two trees, but this was immediately addressed by the owner. Overall good experience, and I would recommend this company for tree maintenance/removal.

Mr. Gandolfo was very professional and courteous. He reviewed the repairs my floor need and recommended that my floor would benefit from refinishing. He recommended floor refinishing experts, even if that meant I may not hire his company. Still, he thought refinishing may be better for my floors. I appreciated the honest opinion and the recommendation.
