Jeff of all Trades

Jeff is a consistent and reliable performer for me for all of my rental properties. In this particular instance we had to do some touch up work to one of our apartments prior to the arrival of a new tenant. The list of chores included: repainting an interior room, resetting the toilet in one of the bathrooms, weatherizing a doorway that was leaking during heavy rains, switching a ceiling fixture for a ceiling fan and rehanging it elsewhere, repairing a leak under the kitchen sink and repairing and stabilizing a rear security gate for the apartment. Jeff took care of all of these things very nicely and quickly. A couple of items required a second visit, which was also managed efficiently and in a timely fashion. Jeff introduced himself to the tenant and in no time the tenant was very comfortable with him working on her apartment. Jeff is also completely trustworthy - he has keys to all of my properties where he has done work, and you never have to bird-dog him to make sure he shows up or gets the job done in a suitable fashion. You can leave him to get the job done, and he will get the job done, even over several days (should the job require a second or third visit, as with painting). Even if you are out of town, he will manage the job and the details on his own without your having to worry about whether or not he will show up and get the work done. I recommend him very highly.

Boy, did i hit a grandslam with Angie'sList and Jeff of All Trades. Recently joined AngiesList and Jeff was the first service provider I contacted. As his name says, he does do it all, and very well I may add! Jeff was able to stop by within 24 hours to give me a price on my laundry list of things i've wanted to get done around the houe for the past year. I really appreciate being able to purchase my own items to have Jeff install... I know I was able to upgrade a few items because there is no markup. He was very helpful in suggesting which products would work best (i.e. the security lights outside that would come on at 20% at dusk and full power when motion detector was activated and powered off at dawn.) Going to have Jeff remodel my two bathrooms this winter due to the fact that I can choose and buy my own materials. Thanks for the job well done Jeff!! See you sometime around January for the first bathroom job. Thanks again!!

Board from fence is already down a few months later. Soffit fell within days. He also agreed to repair/secure a mailbox and put up address numbers on the house as part of this service. Neither was done. He still has the numbers to the house, that I purchased, as he never returned. He also was supposed return to repair/replace a few pieces of siding for an additional fee. He took a strip of siding to match the color, but he never returned. The rubbish from the fence/gate repairs are still in my backyard. He was also very rude to the young helper working with/for him. Poor repairs, never returned, have not heard from him since, still has my address numbers and piece of siding, unprofessional towards employee.

Jeff is my go-to handyman! I have a rental property & he can handle most repairs that crop up as well as help out with improvements. There was a carjacking on our street & I was worried about security, so Jeff picked up some motion sensor lights for me at Home Depot & installed them around the outside of the house. This made me feel much more secure, & he found time to fit me in even though he was busy with a lot of other jobs. He also repaired my hot water heater after I couldn't get it re-lit after my house was fumigated, fixed the latch on a sagging gate, & painted a cabinet that was stained from water damage. I already have a running list for the next jobs & I'm glad that Jeff is around to help whenever my renters are h****** something. Jeff always works to make sure he can find time to help with any problem large or small, & goes the extra mile to keep it easy for me when I can't be on-site to deal with things myself. He's a great guy to have on speed dial.

Answers his own phone! Prompt on estimate, price was more than fair. Showed up to work exactly as promised. Finished entire job in 2 days. All work is square, neat. All trash was removed after job. Asbestos properly disposed of. Very organized. very polite. Great carpentry skills and knowledge. I now keep Jeff Owen's number in my cell phone. Will definitely use again.

Jeff was fantastic to work with today. I told him I had an issue with my gutter causing some leaking to a window below and I needed to get it fixed asap with all of the rainy weather in New Orleans lately. He was busy, but I thought it wasn't something that couldn't be extremely quickly. He finished a job and went straight to my house fixed it and I drove down to check it out and he had fixed the problem. I couldn't have asked for better service and he charged me a very discounted rate since it was something he did very fast. I will use him again and would recommend him to anybody that needed a handyman.

He was very professional. He came in and took a look at everything. He went to the store to get the doorknob and installed it.

I called Jeff this morning and he was able to come to my house the same day. My window unit air conditioner was accumulating water and leaking out of the front. He removed the unit, found the problem and had it fixed quickly. I know I'll be calling him again.

There had been a bee colony that started in one of the columns on the front porch. After treatment, which removed the bees, I contacted Jeff Owen to give me a price on capping the small portion of the top of column which was open and provided the entry point for the bees. I also asked him to give me a price on replacing a section of chain link fence which had seen better days and reattach a hanging floodlight. Due to his truck being out of service during the time I contacted him, he was unavoidably late to the first scheduled estimate appointment and unable to make the first appointment to do the services. However, as soon as his vehicle was fixed, he immediately called and scheduled an appointment to do the services. He was promptly at the property at the scheduled time, fully prepared to do all the repairs. He and his assistant not only capped all the columns, but also painted the new wood to the same color of the existing column and ceiling. It blends in seamlessly to the porch, like it was there all along. The chain link fence was bent in places and since the section involved was small, I asked that the whole section be replaced. They performed the job well. Finally, a floodlight which was loosened during a storm and hanging above the driveway. They were thoughtful enough to ask me which direction I wanted the light to point before reattaching the floodlight. I was very satisfied with the work and would consider calling him again, if I have any other work in the future.

It went well. Jeff took the railing from me, had a welder repair it and came back to install it. The welder had left Jeff w/ the wrong screws so he couldn't finish the job until later, but he did come out two days later to knock the job out. The railing is super solid and now my house is insurable! Jeff's knowledge about so many things house-related makes him a very valuable person for me to know as a new home-owner... besides doing the work that I needed done, he also offered me a good deal of advice about my home that I really appreciated hearing.

Jeff came over a week prior and took a look at the jobs and gave me a free estimate for doing the work. He really seems to know everything about fixing homes... if I were a landlord, I'd try to get Jeff to be my right hand.

i call jeff when a project is a little out of my league. we wanted to add a window--that we had on hand--into our laundry room for a little more natural light. the exterior is hardi-board siding and i was a bit anxious about doing it right. we set up a time, Jeff came with all the tools, we bartered for his time, and a few hours later we were all done!! the window was glass block, so it wasn't a typical window remodel. i didn't have a lot of cash on hand, but my wife had wanted this done and we had the window sitting around for quite awhile. jeff came on a weekend so i could help with the little stuff and the whole project went great. he gave me a supply list so i bought a couple things beforehand to have ready for him. he brought all the tools and know-how. we cut the hole in the wall and he made sure to keep things clean so the mess in our house was at a minimum--very much appreciated!! it never fails--even something like this that i had never tackled before he had experience with and always is creative and confident in doing quality work and not cutting corners.

Jeff was fantastic. In addition to showing me that the water filter would need to be replaced and instructing me on where to go buy one, he taught me how to replace the water filter myself for no charge at all. He gave me some price quotes in case I wanted him to come replace the filter but he took the time to teach me for free. I will certainly be asking Jeff to come fix anything in the future given how accommodating he was in this initial interaction. I highly recommend him for any household job that needs to be done.

I was in a rush to have the job completed (to meet compliance with my insurance provider. Jeff found an opening in his schedule and came over and completed the job in one long afternoon (just days after I first contacted him). The job was very well done, and he cleaned up after finishing. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Pretty good the deck is well built and was done in the time Jeff had estimated. The cost was spot on. the only thing that keeps this from being a stellar review is some finishing details that Jeff had said he would come back and do, so far he appears to have forgotten.

Decided to use another person who was interested in doing the work.

He was a really nice and very friendly guy. And his price was very reasonable.

Jeff was very punctual and professional. He showed up at 8:00 in the morning, left for lunch, and worked a full 8 hour day, if not longer on some days. He was very knowledgeable in all areas of the construction process and directed me to the most cost saving vendors. His work was neat and he kept a clean work space. He took the time to answer any questions or concerns I had and kept me informed of the construction process. His work was was done in a professional manner and I would certainly recommend him to my family and friends as well as having him complete jobs for me in the future.

He was good. He was very prompt and he came out quickly. He's also very thorough. The quote that he gave me was fair.

Jeff is great- friendly, reasonable, & a pleasure to have around. I own rental property, & he always saves the day when someone is too rough with things or if something needs repairing. He can get busy (understandable, as he has quite a clientele!), but is great about finding time to fit us in if it's an emergency, & he's the kind of guy that I trust with a key to my house. This time we needed a few small repairs- I'm always grateful that Jeff is willing to do the little things as well as big jobs. We needed a chimney capped (can't be too ready for hurricane season), rerouted an A/C condensation line that was dripping right by the house & inviting termites, & fixed a broken cabinet door. He also removed a wall-mounted tv & took care of a few other odd jobs. The work was done perfectly well, & when I added a few more jobs to the list as I thought of them, he took care of them in a flash. I've also had Jeff give me an estimate on converting a shed into a finished office space, & his quote was surprisingly budget friendly. Looks like we can fit the work in sooner than expected, which is fantastic.

Jeff is a busy guy, so it took several attempts to sync up our schedules. But he always answered his phone or got right back to me. Once we set a time for work, he showed up right on time and finished the job. I hope to use Jeff again for other work, such as carpentry.

Went well. Took longer than I expected. Excellent, hard worker, but had to be reminded about finishing repairs he said he would complete.

I own a few rentals and will be calling more often. he does good work and gives good prices. the only knock some people seemed to have was he was not prompt etc. Thats because he really busy. usually the good ones are. If you can wait a couple days for him to get to you, its worth it. does quality work and very fair prices. nice guy too.
