Jeff of all Trades

Once again, Jeff comes through in the clutch for my handyman needs! We were previously happy with Jeff's work done at our house, and I needed some help on what I thought was going to be replacing two toilets at our rental property. They weren't flushing properly, and in the process of getting this house ready to sell, I just assumed I was going to need to buy two new ones because the current ones were giving us problems. When Jeff arrived and looked at them, he informed my wife and I (to my surprise) that he could basically repair the two old ones for the price of having to buy a single new one! So now we practically have two new toilets (except for seat, base, and water tank), and it saved us half of our cost on materials! He also went ahead and put a new line of caulking around both toilets where it meets the floor. After finishing up on the toilets, Jeff took it upon himself to just check out the water pressure while he was in the bathrooms and noticed that it was lower than it should have been (hadn't occurred to me previously). He went ahead and cleaned the air raiders on each faucet and now the pressure is significantly higher than it was before! Awesome intuition on Jeff's part to look out for that. Overall, Jeff has proven to us again that he's a reliable, reasonably priced handyman that we will continue to use whenever we need work done at our own or rental properties we have. He's easy to work with, and has shown to look out for us without looking to extract every possible penny he could get. You'll be happy with the results when you hire Jeff for your work. Thanks Jeff!

Our interactions with Jeff of all Trades went well. Jeff had other obligations on the day I contacted him for his services but because I lived near his route home he worked me into his schedule arriving around 7:00pm. After brief introductions, he immediately began the work to remove and replace the faucet and completed the job quite quickly. He was kind, professional, and had reasonable rates. Jeff was easy to work with and he did go out of his way to come on the same day I called him because I said that I really needed the shower because company was coming the next day. Thank you Jeff.

I took pictures of the springs that I thought needed to be replaced, but we talked about tightening the tension, which might close the gap. He helped me over the phone, gave me some great ideas, and I was able to fix the door gap myself with his help over the phone.

Jeff was prompt in arriving to give me a bid. His price was reasonable and he could perform the work immediately. Since it was close to 90 in the room I appreciated his empathy with my plight and his offer to do the job right then and there. I would definitely use Jeff for my future projects.

The lock is exactly identical and fit the finish of my door handle. His repair was quick, competent, and he cleaned up after himself. He was professional yet, had a great sense of humor and made conversation in a way that frankly allowed me to forget the trauma of the prior night- an unexpected bonus to his competent repair. In addition, he refused to charge me for his service, and seemed happy to help. He only charged me for the lock itself, which I of course expected to pay for- and even then, it was at a 20% discount!! I will be using him in the future without a doubt. In fact, I had him look at some other things in my home that I had on my repair "to-do" list before he left. Of these items, he just went ahead and fixed one thing right after I showed him. He said "Do you have a pair of pliers?" I brought pliers, 2 seconds later, it was fixed (also did not even bring up labor charge.) Of the other items, he pointed out a few that he said didn't need to be fixed, (contrary to the prior handyman who told me I needed to fix them and wrote an estimate.) Jeff is likable, competent, efficient, and kind. I do not plan on using any other handyman in the future. I trust that Jeff would let me know if there was a "specialist", i.e. electrician, etc., needed. And even then I would have Jeff review the estimate before the work was done. I would also use Jeff to recommend the specialist if I needed one. As an aside, after telling him the details of the assault at gunpoint, he told me that if I wanted to take a gun class or get a permit, etc. he could recommend someone that could help and that he was a very nice and professional person. I told him I would get back to him. Today, I called back, he answered the phone promptly, and I asked for the name of the gun instructor. He said he was in the middle of a job but, would text me at the next break. An hour later he texted the name and number. I called the guy and on the phone he was very professional and friendly, just like Jeff said. I will be taking the gun class this weekend. The lock works, I am happy to have found Jeff (via advertisement in the Bywater Neighborhood Assoc. newsletter), and will be recommending him to all my neighbors as well as using him to fix the other things in my house as discussed.

It was great - he emailed ahead of time to ask for a list of tasks. We did a walk through when he got there and he gave me a very precise list of supplies to get from the hardware store. He got started working while i went to get the supplies. He called while i was there to suggest i pick up a door stopper to put on the floor so our front door wouldn't hit our coat rack b/c he had noticed this was a problem. The interior door turned out to be a bigger issue b/c it wasn't the right door for the location we wanted it installed - he figured out how to make it work and sawed off a bit on the bottom to make it shut properly. Jeff took care to make sure everything was done well and he even took the fleur de li decoration off our old mailbox and installed it on our new one. Jeff is very pleasant and works above and beyond to get things done correctly. This is the second time we have used him - the first time he installed a bathroom fan. We hope to continue to use him for 'office fixes' every month or two.

I called Jeff and he explained how he works. I sent him an email with the details of what I needed done. A couple days later he got back to me and we agreed on a time from him to come by and look at what I needed done. It turned out to be a smaller job than I want it would be, a quick fix with materials Jeff had on hand, so he kindly fixed it at no charge, just asked me to keep him in mind for future jobs.

Jeff to the rescue once again! I've used Jeff in the past and so I felt confident in calling him again to replace my front and back door at home. I asked if it was possible for him to add sidelights to the front door. Now mind you, I've asked previous handymen about installing sidelights and they made it seem like it would be too difficult or didn't want to bother with it. I assumed that it was unlikely, but thought I would just get Jeff's opinion since he's been so reliable before. Surprisingly, he told me there would be no issues! So apparently that was a lie that the previous contractors had told me. Jeff ended up doing what he said he would, when he said he would do it, and I must say I appreciate the hard work. I love the way my front door now looks, and Jeff is as solid as they come when you look for a handyman. Thanks again Jeff...you're the man!

Jeff makes me laugh. It is like having a friend doing the work around here. He seems to get four or five calls a day to do more projects, but he also seems to keep everyone happy. He works 24/7 it seems, or he's got a clone around somewhere. There were a couple of things that needed reworking, and when I pointed them out, he had no complaints, he resolved the problem. I have hesitated to give a review until now because the house was in the demolition stage, but now things are starting to come together fairly quickly, and it is looking good. I am impressed with all the things he can do well. I will add another review when everything is finished, but so far I am very happy. Good guy.

Once again, thank goodness for Jeff! I had guests depart my house Sunday morning and the aftermath was post-apocalyptic...front door broken & master bath toilet knocked loose from the floor. I had other guests coming in in several hours and the damage HAD to be fixed. I cringed and called Jeff, who was a total knight in shining armor. He was working on another project, & got permission from the other gracious client to leave so he could swing by Home Depot & come fix my situation right away. Long story short, within several hours & just in the nick of time, the door was functional again & the toilet was properly attached to the floor with the plumbing underneath repaired, the new seat as replaced with metal hinges, & he even found & repaired a towel rack that had been ripped off of the wall. I'd have been in a bad spot if Jeff hadn't ridden to the rescue. When most other handymen would say "I'm on another job, too bad, I'll fix it when I can fit you in", he found a way:)

I must say, Jeff seems like a really nice man. I am so sorry things did not work out as we had a lot of work to give to Jeff. Jeff and I spoke via phone, set up a time for a consultation-He showed up on time and was totally professional-Jeff did explain that he is "very busy", so we scheduled a time to do the work 10 days out. Jeff asked me to e mail him a list of to-do's so he could gauge the time he needed to complete the projects-I did . I also explained in my e mail that I anticipated he may need more time to complete the work so could he please call to confirm. Jeff never called. I wrote him a second time. No reply. Finally, I called Jeff to connect about the e mails I sent "look the day we scheduled, won't work" he told me. So we set up a new time- I told him I would cancel my plans in the morning to meet with him, which I did. At 8 10 am, Jeff called to cancel- Sadly, I wont be calling Jeff again.

Jeff is exactly what I was looking for in a handy man. Answered his phone on the 3rd ring and within an hour he was at my apartment replacing the window pane I had accidently cracked a few days ago. I had already measured and purchased the small pane of glass and Jeff had no issue with that. Good humored, fast efficient work for a very fair price and Jeff shows up with a van and trailer stocked with every tool and thingamajig a skilled tradesman would need. After today, Jeff is on my speed dial for any future issues I may have. Totally satisfied with the work, price and completion time.

Jeff was very professional on the phone. He arrived when he said he would to give the estimate. On the day of service, he called to let me know he was stuck in a bit of traffic, but arrived not too late after the time he promised. I have two dogs in the house--including the big one that BROKE the window glass! Jeff was very dog-friendly, and laughed at my "curious" big dog the entire time he was here. Jeff spent about two hours doing the job, fine-tuning the side of the glass the entire time. He was very neat and clean as he did his work. In fact, he ALSO managed to get a double pane glass for the same price as a single! A testament to how well-regarded he must be with the glass people. I would not hesitate at all to call Jeff again the next time I have a project to be handled here at my house! Excellent service . . . and a really nice guy!

Jeff removed and replaced a ceiling fan in our guest room. He returned our call the same day and was also able to complete the work on the same day. He was fast and efficient. Jeff is a very likeable person and we would definitely use him again.

The result: although my water smelled a tiny bit like vinegar for a few days after, this seems to have made a big difference in the function of our hot water heater. Thanks Jeff for coming out so quickly and helping me out! Sidenote: I was curious about tankless water heaters as a potential replacement for our old tank some day and Jeff explained all the details about that option to me and helped me identify locations where it could be installed.

Thank goodness for Jeff! I live out of town & when I need repairs to my rental property, he takes care of things quickly and well. This time my front porch light was out & seemed to have a problem beyond needing a lightbulb. Jeff sorted it out in a flash, as well as repairing a kitchen drawer that had been yanked askew and wouldn't slide back in properly. I love that Jeff is willing to take on jobs whether they are large or small. He always finds time to sort out the little jobs that crop up, & is also great for the larger projects that I need done. Jeff answers the phone himself, tells me his rate, and schedules a time-- at my convenience-- to come over and look at the projects so that he could give me an estimate of the time involved and materials costs. When it comes time for the actual work, he comes out when promised and does the work in a timely, professional matter.... and what he does looks great. In short: he is competent, responsible, understanding of my needs, and thoroughly professional. Friendly too. I will definitely continue to use Jeff when I need repairs. I highly recommend Jeff. I'm a real estate agent and need trustworthy professionals to refer to my clients. Jeff makes me look good to my customers and sets my mind at ease knowing they will be well cared for and the work completed will be high quality, thoughtful and reasonably priced.

Jeff was great as usual. This was the third time I called Jeff. I had purchased my materials and was calling to set up a date to meet him. I called him in the morning and he offered to come over the SAME day in the afternoon. As a matter of fact, he finished his previous assignment sooner than expected and met me TWO HOURS earlier. I had emailed Jeff some particulars for the job prior to his arrival. Jeff gave me several suggestions for placement. My children we're home doing school assignments and playing, but Jeff didn't disturb them. He worked quickly, wrote me an invoice, and I paid him promptly with a check. Definately recommended.

It went very well and I have used him before. He has always done a good job and I am going to use him in the future.

He is a very nice man and did do the job requested but it could have been done more completely. The paint job on some platforms that I had made was sloppy at best and the cost was 25% higher than the original estimate.

Jeff was very diligent with his work. He did everything with a fervor. He was here when he said he would be and worked until it was done. He was very friendly and personable. He did everything exactly as we asked and paid close attention to detail. He had no problem changing or adjusting things when asked. Jeff was very professional. When it came time to pay him we were very pleased with the price. No surprises.

Multiple problems from drainage, to plumbing, filter and electrical motor. Jeff fixed them all. In addition, he brought the unit outside and cleaned it. Great work on a tough problem. Wife's happy.

Very well done - a pretty routine job for Jeff, but one that he handled with his usual thoroughness and care. He was on time, performed the work quickly and cleaned up afterwards - a great job - which is why I continue to use him. Price was right

Jeff came through once again for us! Wife decided she wanted to change some of the doors inside our house so we called Jeff for an estimate. Price quoted was very reasonable so we decided to move forward with job. Little did we know that Jeff came out later that morning, took down all doors needed to be replaced and painted and hung the new ones by that evening!! Doors look great...wife is very happy with results which makes my home a happy one lol. Jeff thanks so much man and we will be hiring again down the road for further improvements on the house!
