Jeff picked up his phone on the first call and was friendly and responsive. He was at my house soon after I called him, gave a precise quote on how much he would charge, and performed the work very quickly. In short, I was expecting the broken window to be a big headache, but it was repaired like new in just a few hours. I will definitely contact him for future jobs.

Brought Jeff in to replace broken tiles in kitchen floor. I was running on a tight timeline and he was able to find a perfect match and install very quickly. Because Jeff did such a good job in a timely manner and at a reasonable price, I let him bid in on moving the gas line in the same apartment. Not only did Jeff come in significantly under the other bids, but his timeline also fit my needs. He was straight forward about the pricing and the cost of materials and did an excellent job.

Jeff is great! So friendly and willing to help out and do a quality job. I would definitely recommend him for repairs to anyone. We called him Monday evening for a window that broke during Mardi gras festivities. Everything was closed Tuesday for Fat Tuesday holiday, but Jeff was here Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM. He took measurements for the window and sent his guy out to get a new piece of glass. Then he prepped the window for the glass installment and helped fix some things around the house. He fixed the garbage disposal and also cleared out mineral deposits in 2 faucets and a shower head even though we only called him for the window originally. He then did a fantastic job fixing up the window. In 1 week, I am supposed to paint over the new parts. Instead of me having to go out and find the materials, Jeff gave me a can of paint and paintbrush for free! So nice of him. Would definitely recommend him to anyone or have him back to do more repairs.

Jeff is a perfectionist. Everything is done correctly. He was always on time and worked late. He went to Home Depot more than once to pick up supplies, door and fencing. He worked around my schedule and the deliveries of countertops and appliances. He took away all trash, old appliances, old light fixtures and door. He even took away the trash that the countertop guys left.
Description of Work: The first two days, Jeff picked up all my supplies at Home Depot. He installed a new back door with a dog door, new frame, threshold and cement under the threshold outside. He installed a fence around my patio and created a gate. He replaced my big kitchen light and my dining area light and spackled the ceiling where there were holes from my old fixtures. He jacked up both outside fence gates and installed new latches. He unhooked my sink, plumbing and appliances for new countertops. He replaced my sink and hooked up the plumbing after countertops were installed. The next week, he came after my new appliances were delivered. He fixed the electrical behind my microwave and the drywall and installed the microwave. He fixed the electrical and installed my countertop stove. He had to make room in my cabinet for my larger wall oven - he took out a drawer and fixed the cabinet where you cannot even see where the drawer was. He then installed the oven.
We were about 1 week from opening our restaurant, and as we were doing some final touches, we spilled a gallon of oil based primer all over the already badly damaged bathroom floor tiles. We were on the fence about whether to replace the tiles in the first place, but this little mishap made the choice clear. Anyways, we were in a pretty dire situation, and needed to have the job done within 2 days. We called Jeff up on a Friday night- he promptly called back, was very friendly and patient, as I was a bit frazzled, walked me through our options, and even met up with us at Home Depot the next day to help us choose the proper materials. The job was completed in no time, at a reasonable price, and the floor looks great. He's also done a few other jobs for us since then and is very knowledgeable in a number of areas- construction, plumbing, electrical, etc? Having worked with a number of handymen & contractors throughout the construction process Jeff was by far the most timely, helpful, and fair. Would recommend him to anyone who needs a job done well.

It went well. He painted and made some other suggestions.
Description of Work: Jeff repaired a water leak in a closet and in a bedroom. He spread mice poison in the attic. He also installed a ceiling in the bedroom and the master closet. Lastly, he installed a dryer vent. I expect Jeff to come out for some other needed repairs soon.
Jeff and his helper showed up with a trailer ready to tackle some problems. I had a few odd jobs for them to do which they tackled quickly. He reset a shower handle, affixed a loose railing and pulled up some flooring for me to see what was underneath. He charged me $100. I will call him again.

Jeff was very efficient and performed the service at a fair price. He works 7 days a week and was available to come do the repairs on a Sunday morning, based on his and my limited co-availability. Regarding the work performed, the faucet handles, sides of tub, and corners in tiled shower were only grouted during the bathroom construction. Jeff correctly identified this over the phone based on my description of the leak, and was very punctual based on our scheduled appointment. He caulked the problem areas which took approximately 45 minutes, and he charged the appropriate labor and material costs for this repair (total for bathtub repair -- $140). We have a second appointment for the remaining work in downstairs kitchen to repair the ceiling where the water leaked through, and Jeff was able to provide a quote for this work (total ceiling repair - $250). All in all, I was very surprised by the low cost as I anticipated a potentially much more costly repair. Great work Jeff!
Description of Work: Repaired leak in upstairs bathroom (bathtub did not previously have adequate caulking, only grout) and repaired ceiling in kitchen which was damaged by the leak.

He repaired a two by two foot area of my living room celing where I had accidently stepped through while I was in my attic. I called Jeff and he answered the phone right away! He provided me a link so that I could provide him with specifics about the job. (i. e. - pictures, location of repair, address, etc.). He came out the same day, was very friendly and professional and inspected the damaged area and gave me a verbal quote. The first day he inspected the damaged area, gave me a verbal quote, and then went straight to work laying drop clothes around the work site along with a plastic barrier so as to contain dust to the work area.. First, Jeff removed the damaged dry wall, then measured and cut a new piece of sheet rock to place in the damaged part of the ceiling. Next, he applied joint compound and then cleaned up the work site and scheduled a time for him to complete the job the following day. The very next day Jeff brought his assistant, Josh and he followed the same protocol by first sealing off the work area and then proceeded to sand the patch. Next, he applied texture over the patch and after about a half-hour of drying time, painted the area. I also had Jeff remove a cracked mail box post and install a new one close to the old post site. Jeff is very knowledgeable and meticulous with everything that he does. His work ethic is second to none and when he completes a job, you know that it will be done right and he'll go to great strides that the job site is cleaned up and also move the furniture back. I was so impressed with Jeff that I had referred him to my sister-in-law to replace a defective water heater.

Jeff and his assistant, Josh, were prompt and worked diligently to get the job(s) done. They were pleasant to talk with and knowledgable in each task.
Description of Work: Odd jobs- trim doors for higher clearance over carpet, re-grout a shower and a tub, lift a washer to access and clean a drainage trap.
I am a single professional woman homeowner for the past ten years. Over the years, I have had a number of people at my house to either assess or do work on my house. Each time, their work was sub par, they didn't show up and one guy actually took the deposit never to return. I put off finding someone this time because of how many times I had attempted to find someone both reliable and trustworthy. And then I found JEFF!! I am in the process of selling my house and knew I needed work done. Not only did Jeff do the work I needed, he also assessed for other things that he knew would come up in an inspection once the house was listed. Jeff is such a hard worker, reliable, and a fine craftsman. His work was always thorough and once completed looked brand new. He was clear about scheduling appointments, informing me of the problem, the way to fix it and the cost. He knows how to do EVERYTHING!!! And if he doesn't he knows enough to find someone who does. When it came to the money, Jeff was clear in what he needed, showed me receipts and the payment for labor was always for what he had already done. So the work was completed and THEN I paid. I left Jeff alone in my house while he worked and never had a question or fear about it. He was also AMAZING with my dog and had no problem with her being there while he worked. Jeff is highly intelligent and funny as well. Working with him renewed my faith in contractors and somewhat to humanity. He loves what he does and has so much integrity. I will use Jeff again and again!
Description of Work: Roof repair, multiple window leaks, replacing fire alarms, replaced back siding of house, painted entire front of house, replaced damaged side boards, replaced and painted recessed lighting fixtures, replaced toilet seat, refurbished antique window, repaired air conditioning wiring and many more smaller jobs.

Jeff and Josh showed up on time and worked diligently and efficiently to get everything done. It is great to have someone with such a breadth of skills that we can have come and tackle the variety of things that come up. Jeff is very concerned with doing things correctly and I highly recommend him. We hope to continue to have him back every couple of months to keep everything in our office working well. This is about the fourth time we've used Jeff for a variety of fixes and have been pleased each time.

Jeff was great: he arrived when he said he would and was very thorough and professional in completing the job at hand. He didn't cut any corners. He also had great advice on other little fixes around my house that I could complete myself. As lagniappe, he even tried to befriend my dog, even though she acted like a total brat. I would definitely use him again; he knows his stuff.

The work was done as promised, Jeff is very detail oriented and wants everything to be perfect, and almost is. He intersperses his work with funny stories or examples. His sidekick, Josh, is cut from the same cloth and is efficient and a hard worker. We have several more things for them to do and will write another review when this current list of projects is done. When we need things done, and I cannot do them because of my health, Jeff will be the provider chosen.
Description of Work: Installed lights inside home, installed lights and fan on and under new deck roof, several small projects inside and outside the home, installed new toilet in one bathroom. all this over several days, he and Josh worked long hours to accomplish.
I rang Jeff of All Trades at 3 pm on Thursday afternoon (25th Sept) asking for urgent help that very evening: having been 'stood up' by AMR twice over, my rental unit was not ready and the tenants were arriving the next day. Jeff and Josh (his assistant) agreed to do an evening job after they finished another booking, and they showed up with a trailer full of tools and equipment just two hours later! The worked from 5 pm to almost 10 pm, until the essential items were in hand. One of these was complex - the installation of all the carpentry, electricals and plumbing for a new dishwasher. Nothing was in place, and Jeff got onto the job immediately and did an amazing job of it all. He was a lifesaver! Meanwhile, his assistant, Josh - a steady, polite and industrious young man - got on with a number of other items and kept at it all evening until it was done. I cannot thank them enough for responding to this emergency and turning things around for me 'after hours'.
Description of Work: I had an emergency caused by another service failing to show up; a new tenant was due to move in to my rental unit the next day, and I was left with a dishwasher to be installed, curtain rails to hang, light fittings to be changed and various other repairs. (See my review of American Maintenance and Repair, who let me down not once, but twice and then did not even return calls).

Jeff is the hardest working man I have ever met. He is busy but honest about his time frames. He gives his full attention to the job and communicates clearly about what needs to be done and how much it will cost. Jeff also follows through. If he had to cancel or if he was late he would call. Mostly he was there and did what he said he was going to do. Jeff does it all! Not only did he do roof work, siding, windows etc., he found other repairs that I needed but did not know I needed. He took pictures of the areas that needed repair and showed them to me before moving forward with repairs. He also took it upon himself to do things that needed to be done without charging me. I have had horrendous experiences with contractors in the past. I am a single woman who is also a homeowner...who also knows nothing about keeping her house up. Jeff was a DREAM COME TRUE!! He is worth the wait. He is a fine craftsman, a hard worker, smart and fast. He believes in quality and is genuinely dedicated to his work. Finally, my house is an old house and Jeff is an expert in these kinds of repairs.
Description of Work: caulked leaks in the windows, had window completely refurbished, replaced siding on entire back of house, repaired multiple roof leaks, sheet rock where needed, chimney repair, repaired and painted in all areas of the house.
Jeff was due to start work on some big projects on my house on Monday morning. On Sunday, my husband and I got a start on the demo of the bathroom Jeff would be working on. After removing the existing faucets and attempting to shut off the water valves, we realized we had some leaks that could only be stopped by turning the water off to the entire house. Clearly, not having running water was not going to be something we could live with until Jeff was scheduled to arrive the next day. I called him in a panic at 3pm on Sunday. He graciously offered to drive all the way to my house to fix the plumbing issue and also help us get squared away for Monday morning. He got to our house around 5pm. On a Sunday. He's a saint. In addition to fixing the plumbing issue and allowing us to restore water to the house, he also helped me remove the toilet and mirror so that I could finish up the demo that evening. The whole reason we were tackling the demo is because Jeff is working with us to get the house renovations we want within a tight budget. He's allowing us to do the work that we feel comfortable completing (demo, painting) to help cut costs without having to give up anything on our wish list. We're so thankful that he's willing to work with us on it! He's also showing us how to do things (and letting us use his tools!) so that in the future we might be able to take on more of it ourselves. Very pleased with Jeff so far!
Description of Work: Stopped plumbing leak on faucets and toilet, removed toilet, removed mirror
I cannot say enough great things about Jeff. I feel so lucky to have found him on Angie's List. Having just purchaed an older home, it needs just about everything. And, the great thing is, Jeff knows how to do everything. Jeff is knowledgeable, he shows up on time, he;s a hard worker, he works quickly, he's trustworthy, he doesn't overcharge, and he's entertaining to boot. Jeff can advise you on just about anything you have a question about. Since he's a licensed contractor, If he doesn't do the work himself, he can still tell you what to look for and what to watch out for. He'll also give you food for thought - possibilities and complications - and how you can do some of the work yourself, if desired. He even let me borrow his tools! I never thought I'd say that an electrical panel was beautiful, but mine is. As it happened, the Entergy man stopped by today and confirmed that Jeff knows what he's doing, which made me feel even better about my experience with him. I definitely plan to ask Jeff to help on my future projects.

Regretfully Jeff seemed to be highly distracted when making his plans. Despite having communicated with him at least three times in the 48 hrs before the agreed upon day/time of service (this past Sat AM w/the last occasion he called me the night before to confirm), he failed to show as scheduled. When I contacted him he failed to recall he had in fact confirmed the night before. My hunch is he would have done adequate work, but unfortunately I have no way to assess this as he never showed as planned. Though the work itself was not emergent, I did end up calling someone else to attend to later that day (I had been delaying for Jeff) and it did cost quite a bit more than I think Jeff would have charged.
