Jeff worked tirelessly and even delayed other customers so he could finish our projects while we were there. Jeff is a great handyman and we will continue to use him as much as possible

Jeff is my go-to guy. I have used him before and will continue to call him. He is a great problem solver. I emailed him Thursday about a dryer not working. He got back to me the same day and looked at it Friday. Although I suspected it was something electrical, he diagnosed it as a broken door switch. He showed my tenant how to use it until the part comes. I would trust him to renovate my whole house, but I am very grateful he makes calls for small things. Thanks Jeff.

Went great, I will use him often in the future. He was able to work on a wide range of projects will skill and ease.

The good: Jeff's work was good, he kept at things until it worked, & he cleaned up after himself. He has a bunch of tools & supplies in a trailer & appears to know what he's doing. The bad: He threatened me, tried to extort me, repeatedly insulted me, & made me feel physically endangered. I texted my boyfriend Jeff's information & status until he left because I didn't know what he was going to do - we were alone in my house together. He said stuff like, "You'll regret this," "You'll see what happens," & "Judge, I can't be held responsible for my actions." Basically, Jeff was enraged that I wouldn't pay him in a week in advance for work he hadn't finished & that he couldn't complete before I left town (a deadline he was aware of & originally said he could meet). I said it wasn't a big deal, that he'd done most of it & I would pay him for the work he had finished & get someone else to finish it in time, or he could come back before I left to do it & I'd give him the final $50. He got angry & insisted in being paid in advance for everything, including work he hadn't done. He stopped with a huge hole in my ceiling & said he wouldn't do anything else unless I paid him even more than we'd originally agreed upon. I agreed because he was scaring me & also so that I wouldn't be stuck with the hole - he essentially tried to extort me. At the end of the day, after much ranting & muttering of insults directed at me, he agreed to take a little less for the work that he didn't finish & not come back. Because of his weird overreaction (it was $50! For work he hadn't done!) & threats, I can't recommend him, especially to single women. He'd probably be fine with a guy or someone else in the house. Be aware that he's a chatter & complains loudly & constantly about the work, which is odd. He also doesn't have a helper so he asked that I help him lift heavy objects (part of the reason I hired someone was because I have a neck injury & can't do that) & he dropped a board on my arm, bruising me. To be fair, I don't think he noticed dropping the board on me because he was falling off a ladder at the time. Also, he made it clear that the price of his next job depends on the content of the Angie's List review, which I believe is against the site rules.

It was great. Jeff knows what he is doing.

Jeff let me know he would have trouble fitting us into his schedule for about a week, but when he heard that we had leaking water, he squeezed us into the same day. He may not be able to do that all the time, but I appreciated that was willing to consider emergency work situations. And he didn't even charge extra for the same day service. Jeff was thorough: fully removing the toilet, replacing worn out and broken pieces, checking to ensure against water damage, and then reinstalling perfectly. He kept things clean and left the bathroom in great condition. I found Jeff forthright and clear about work. He's an old-fashioned kind of guy with an eye for detail. We plan to use him again for other handyman repair and installation work that isn't as time-sensitive.

Jeff was great yet again. I emailed him at the end of the week and he came by over the weekend to measure, painted the boards the next day, and came late Monday night after I got home from work at 6 and just left at 9 pm. He worked with my wife and I on the design so that it would look good as well as be functional, and took care of the little details like painting the screws to match the wood.

Jeff was here in a flash and clearly knows his stuff. He inspected all of the repairs we need and let us know what he will be doing and what supplies will be needed.

This is our second time using Jeff. We live in the Quarter in a masonry Creole cottage. The reasons why he is our go-to handyman: 1. Jeff answers phone calls and texts; then he actually shows up. We love our city, but most people would agree that a contractor that actually responds is somewhat of an anomaly. 2. Jeff figures stuff out. In our house, the aesthetics of the solution are as important as the functional aspect. So things like masonry walls, limited crawl space, etc. present problems. We don't want to see wires, plumbing, etc. tacked to the outside of a wall. There is always a correct way to do it, and Jeff will take the time to figure it out. Most contractors will simply tell you it's not possible or they will wait for you to come up with the solution. 3. Excellent value. On both jobs, Jeff has completed the work at a fraction of the cost of other bids. This time, he installed four foundation vents at half the cost we were quoted on the next lowest bid. What's more, I asked him generally whether he could do this as he was walking out the door (having completed the work we had originally discussed); he laughed and had the four vents out and new vents installed in two hours. As a result, my flood insurance went from $3100 to ~ $800. 4. Jeff carries a hardware store around town. He has every imaginable tool in tow. He pulls a large trailer, manages to figure out how to park it all in the Quarter, and does it without complaint. Tool envy. 5. Finally, I know that if we are in a real bind, he will be there. He is very busy, so we respect his calendar. But we also know if the sh*t is going to hit the fan, he'll come running. Thanks Jeff!

We have been using Jeff for about 6 months and are very happy and satisfied with his work. He installed a new cover over our existing wooden back yard deck, converted bathtub to shower, installed or converted several light switches/plugs, Repaired the front steps of a concrete porch/stairs, installed and painted a railing around the front porch, power washed the back deck and surrounding driveway, installed linen cabinet by the new shower, installed security lighting and electrical connections on the newly constructed deck cover. We have had Jeff do so much that I have probably missed some, but we are extremely happy with his work, He answers his messages, replys to emails, and is punctual in his work. Pricing is reasonable and he will work with something, if problems are found later, until it is right.

He was great - very friendly and funny. We had emailed a few months ago and then both forgot to schedule the work, and then he followed up yesterday and was available to come today to take care of everything. I 100% recommend him.

Jeff is great and can do just about anything! Me and my husband bought two old leaky New Orleans doubles and abeit nice they came with their share of small problems. Make that a zillion small problems. With these old houses its really difficult to know who to call. Do you call the drywaller for the water damage, the roofer for the small leak or the plumber for the busted water line or who do you call for leaky windows? We just had not idea nad then found Jeff. This guy can do everything and does everything well. Our first experience with him was repairing the leaky windows in the rental house. He came over assessed the problem and showed us the repair he was to perform He even offered to teach us to do the repair so we could do the remaining windows on the other house ourselves. He offered a very fair price and got to work in the coming days. As we all know construction projects come with their fair share of surprises. He found a sil that was totally damaged and mold under the window that leaked. We were expecting the worst but he continued the repair with only a small upcharge for the extra materials. If that were anyone else they would have tried to charge double. We were very happy with the repair and Jeffs attention to detail! Our tenants even commented on the thorough job he did! At this point we were sure to hire Jeff again. Our next experience came as a bit of a surprise. We were having the concrete in our front yard jack hammered our for the installation of new sidewalks and gardens. All was going well and then they jiggled a water line and sprung a leak. I was thinking of crap what do i do! My husband was out of town and I was standing infront of my house with water springing from the line like a fountain. I called Jeff and he assured me he could make the repair. I tried to turn the water meter off but our trusty SWB meter was broken and did not shut off. Jeff came that evening and shut off the water, spent 3 hours in the dark and muddy front yard to repair our pipe and made sure I had running water that evening. Jeff is great and we will definitely be calling him again!

I called Jeff at 6:10 yesterday evening after one of my tenants reported a steady drip from his ceiling. Although it was after hours, Jeff arrived within a half hour of my call. He was able to determine the source of the leak without ripping up the ceiling or walls. All told the repair was complete by 8 pm without any real inconvenience to my tenants. This is not the first time I have called Jeff with an urgent/emergent repair and he has always been extremely prompt and thorough. The other work he has done for me has stood the test of time and I recommend him and his work without reservation.

I called Jeff of All Trades late on a Friday afternoon because I had a closet rod that wouldn't bear weight. Jeff answered my call himself, and as we spoke it became clear that my little closet snafu was much more simple and small than the type of work Jeff normally engages. He told me not to be deterred and offered to stop by to check out the closet that evening on his way home! I was immediately impressed because many service providers shy away from my neighborhood, which is not conveniently located in a business-populated district. Jeff made good on his word: he knocked on my door promptly at 7pm that same day, even though I had only called him a few hours before. He took one look at my closet and had the whole thing secured and steady within a half hour. He noticed that my closet shelf was bowing as well, so he evened it out and braced it for me. Both the closet rod and shelf now work like a charm. Jeff used all his own materials for this job, and when I asked how much I owed him, he told me no charge--just to consider him for any bigger jobs I might have in the future. Needless to say, no consideration is necessary: I will definitely be calling Jeff of All Trades for all my future contracting needs, big and small. His manner was friendly and professional, and I recommend calling him without hesitation.

Jeff responded in a very timely manner. He was very clear about his expectations and willingness to work with him. I intend to follow up with Jeff because I have not hired anyone else. I was very impressed with his professional conduct via phone. and look forward to getting to work with him.

As most reviewers have noted, Jeff was very responsive when we called him. His quote to restore our two fireplaces was extremely competitive. We had antique tile shipped in and really couldn't afford mistakes because there was a limited quantity.. Jeff did an excelllent job installing the tile and accommodating changes when we requested them. There were a few curve balls (e.g., wood mantel falling apart) that Jeff handled without additional charge although he would have been justified to ask. We were very pleased, thanks Jeff!

Once again Jeff has proven to be my go-to guy when it comes to household repairs and work done! Very cordial....very punctual. Due to my schedule, he was willing to accomodate and come get the work done on a Sunday afternoon no less! My new house only had a cubby hole attic door in the laundry room, which made it nearly impossible to store anything significant up there. Called Jeff to see about installing a new drop down attic door in the garage. There was no hole previously cut before his arrival. He was able to get here and complete the job in a very timely fashion. Upon him arriving, we didnt realize until then but my wife and I had purchased an extra-wide version of attic steps. This required some finesse to make it work right because the beams in the attic initially were not wide enough. Jeff was able to make it all work by putting new support boards up there to sustain the difference (which was not initially discussed), and did so at no extra charge. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. This has given us access to the attic for storage that we previously did not have. Jeff you are the man and I strongly recommend to anyone looking for a consistent and fair handyman to go with Jeff. He will not disappoint and we will not hesitate to call on him again in the fiture. I sent Jeff an email last night and received a call within 10 minutes. He was able to squeeze my tenants electrical issue the very next day. I have used Jeff before and will certainly call him again. He is my guy. I did have to cancel this call because I realized that the electrical issue was user error (GFI with a tough reset) when I arrived. I still felt like I should give him a review on his responsiveness and punctuality.

Jeff continues to amaze me with his ability to fix any problem I throw at him. I had a long list of things for Jeff to fix at two houses. He showed up with a new young and eager helper and a trailer full of equipment. He got everything fixed up and looking good in one day. He even came up with an ingenious solution to fix a squeaky shower knob. I am working on getting him to switch from email to text message. I highly recommend Jeff I will certainly call him again.

Subsequent to Jeff finishing the work he did for me, he returned to review the inspection on my house (THE INSPECTION WENT VERY WELL DUE TO JEFF). There were a few small items that needed to be done after the inspection and Jeff was timely and efficient, knowing the closing date was approaching. After Jeff''s initial work, he called several times to ensure that the leaks he had repaired were repaired and to check on the status of the house. .He is generous, honest, kind, super smart and really funny.....which made the entire process seamless! Oh and he cleans up before he leaves and actually CARES about the finish. The little finishing touches that make everything look new Jeff is busy for a reason and he is WORTH the wait!

We contacted Jeff in January 2015 via Angie's List about repairing a wall which recently experience termite damage. Jeff was very punctual to the initial meeting to provide the estimate. He seemed very knowledgeable of the job needed to be done and provided a great quote. After the initial meeting, we scheduled a tentative date, which was to be held until the next day at the latest. He stated that if anyone was to need the date, that he would notify me, however that never happened. I called Jeff early that next day to confirm the initial start work date, however he had already given the date to someone else. I then proceeded to schedule another date. He said that he needed to come back to the house to survey the attic, to make sure that there was no additional work needed to be done, if there was termite damage to the ceiling. We scheduled a date, but Jeff never showed. I contacted Jeff via, phone, text, and email several times after and there was no response. I'm not sure why Jeff didn't respond, since our first encounter was very positive.
