Description of Work: My system went down in 90 degree heat. They came out the same day, but I knew I was going to need at new system (condenser was 36 years old). They installed a new system in one day at a great price. They were polite, punctual and efficient. The owner even came out to check on the job and e-mailed me after to make sure the system was working satisfactorily. I would recommend them 100%.

We used this company at the recommendation of a contractor after Katrina to replace the ductwork under our house and service and repair our units. We called them a few months ago for our heat upstairs and it took three trips out to our house to get the problem repaired. Should have learned our lesson then, but decided maybe our unit was old and parts needed to be ordered. This time we called them out to repair our AC unit that was blowing only warm air. This time of year that is a significant problem. They sent a tech, who evaluated our system and said it had a refrigerant leak which he repaired. He charged it up with more refrigerant and the unit worked for a few days. Unfortunately, we went out of the country and our house sitter ended up in our home for two weeks with no air conditioning because it stopped blowing cool air after only a few days. We called them back and they sent the same tech. He then discovered that the condenser and coil were bad and we needed a new unit. He told me that was probably the same problem as before but he did not look deeply enough to find it. We then worked with the gentleman in the office to determine what kind of replacement unit was needed and he gave us some kind of story about how we could only get one or two kinds of units because of the way our ductwork was configured. (they installed the ductwork after Katrina). My husband discussed it with him and they determined which kind of unit to order. It was not a brand we were comfortable with, but we only basically had one choice of brand. Supposedly the unit was ordered and would be here within five working days. A week later I called the office on a Tuesday morning because we were very hot and had not heard anything from them regarding our new unit. I was told they would look into it and call me back. Two days passed with no return call. When I called them again on Thursday, I was informed that the gentleman we had been working with was on vacation and no one there knew anything about our unit that had supposedly been ordered. My husband and I discussed it and decided that if we were going to spend thousands of dollars for a new central package unit we'd rather spend it with a vendor we can depend on to do things like return phone calls and that will make repairs correctly the first time. We called Guillory and cancelled our order. We believe the order may not have been placed in the first place or someone in the office would be able to see paperwork and at least check on the status of the order. We called another vendor (found on Angie's List) who had a repair man out that same day, evaluated the unit, determined we needed a new unit and will be installing a new unit at our house tomorrow - within 2 working days. It is a brand we trust and they have no problem working with our existing duct work with a few modifications. They gave us a scope of work and estimates in writing. We are very pleased with them. Had we waited for Mr. Gillory to return from vacation, we would still be waiting - and sweating. June in New Orleans is no time to be without air conditioning.
Description of Work: Have used them in the past - called them out to repair AC unit that was not blowing cool air. In summary, they charged me $345 to repair the problem, which lasted less than one week. When they sent the tech out again, he looked further and found the real problem, which was that we needed a new unit. I feel he should have found the problem in the first place and we would not have been out $345 and still need a new unit.

He is great and wonderful. His people are great. They get in and they are really honest. When I replace the unit, I am probably going to use him because he is just great. I have my gas furnace and my air conditioning unit serviced before the season starts just to make sure that they are functioning properly. Their service costs under $100 but I do not remember the exact amount. They are fabulous. I would absolutely use him again. I have a very old compressor and he is keeping it running as long as it possibly can but when it comes time to replace it, he is going to do the replacement.
Description of Work: I have used Guillory's Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning twice. He did a system check when I first bought the house and then he did another winter check. They also came out to do my spring check and service the air conditioning unit before we were going to use it in April.
