Please understand--this is a shotgun type house with 1 outside wall between the panel and the laundry room--no fishing wires, no upgrading the panel, just 1 ciruit breaker, wire, and outlet cover. This is a house we bought for our sons to use while in college. I was not at the house but my son was (I think that was the problem--young and didn't know any better). The electrician spent 2 hours the first day (really?) and then told my son he had to come back again because he didn't have the right equipment. When he came back (Mon 12noon) he spent an hour but charged us for 2 hours (He claimes he left at 1:15pm to go to his truck and that is why we were charged 2 full hours). My son, not knowing any better, signed the bill and paid him and then called me too tell me how much it was and I almost fainted. Here is the best part. When I called the company, the secretary refused to let me speak with one of the owners. She said she would have the electrician call me back. Two weeks went by with almost daily phone calls by me without a response. The last time I called he happened to be in the office and tried to explaiin his hours to me but couldn't explain what he did for 4 hours to run a simple short run outlet to the dryer. Classic rip-off. My concern is for those people who do not know anything about electrical work--I do. Beware of this company. I'll be happy to provide anyone with supporting documentation. Jeric1@lsuhsc.edu,
Description of Work: I called the company and asked what it would cost to install a 240volt outlet for a dryer. I was told they had a 2 hour minimum ($85 per hour) but it shouldn't take that long. Please understand--this is a shotgun house with 1 outside wall--6 feet from where the dryer is located. No panel upgrade needed--no fishing wires everywhere--1 story home brand new--easy breezy.

They do not return phone calls. I left 2 messages on 12/13 & nothing. Needed a phone jack.

The electrician was prompt and efficient, clean and courteous. He explained the problem, fixed it, and cleaned up. The company required that I give them my credit card over the phone (including the back-of-the-card security code) before they would schedule the service appointment. This is strange, and I plan on asking them to erase my number from their computer system. (there's no way in h*** this place has the proper security system to prevent the numbers stored there from being stolen). They have a two hour minium @ $80/hour. Expensive, but you get what you pay for, especially in the "wild west" environment of post-K New Orleans. Overall, I'm happy with the service and I would recommend this company.
Description of Work: I had a simple problem with a 220 outlet that I use to power an electric dryer.

They came out and worked with my renter. I was going on vacation so they took my credit card info over the the phone. They didn't try to overcharge me or do any extra work.
Description of Work: They came to fix a problem with the dryer and while they were there they also fixed the doorbell.

The quality of the work was very good; however, I had one small glitch which - I must add - the company addressed right away. It seemed to me that when the worker was finished, he dawdled around, went to his truck, and generally seemed to waste time before finally giving me the bill. I had told him I needed to be elsewhere at a specific time but he pushed that deadline and ended up billing me for longer than he actually worked. After he left I realized that he had billed me for more time, so I called the company and they were very responsive. They did refund me 1/2 hour's cost. At $75/hour, that is no small amount. I would not, currently, hire them but only because they have a 2-hour minimum charge. So if I have something to be done that would take only 45 minutes, I still would have to pay $150. Their work, however, is quality. If I can find someone else to do equally good work, I would not rehire, based solely on price. I currently need work done but their minimum billing is 2 hours so I am looking elsewhere.
Description of Work: The work was done about 5 months ago so my details may not be exact. The electrician installed several outlets, wired a chandelier and "re-installed" an outdoor fan. The fan had been installed but was not working properly.

The worker that was sent out showed up on time and went right to work. I showed him exactly where I wanted the light fixtures and sockets and that s where he put them. He didn't have to clean up that much because he hardly made a mess. He was very professional and followed all safety precautions and even tested the fixtures and sockets after the work was completed. I don't remember the exact cost but I was very happy afterwards.
Description of Work: They replaced 5 light fixtures and 4 wall sockets in my home.

The office was easy to reach, the technician was on time, competent and courteous and he did quick nice work according to my contractor. However, he did just an OK job cleaning up and also, he was called away on an emergency call the first day he came, so he left the job 1/2 done, and promised to come back the following Monday. He called to say he was sick that day, and did come as promised the next day, but the company billed me the higher first hour rate for his second work day even though it wasn't my fault that he took 2 days to finish the job. Overall, a B. I'd have him come back. The rate seems a little high to me, but I admit I didn't shop around much; I followed a friend's recommendation.
Description of Work: The electrician installed my motion sensor light in the driveway, fished a line through my kitchen ceiling to get my kitchen light working, hooked my basement light to the switch, put a plate on my attic light switch, installed a GFI outlet in my kitchen (switched out the non-code one for the GFI), replaced double lugging in my breaker box and covered a open breaker hole.
