Crescent City Come Back is a Louisiana licensed and insured building contractor serving the New Orleans are with lots of experience dealing with old houses.
I am an architect and provided Bennett with drawings to quote and he got back to us right away with the lowest and most thorough & thoughtful bid. It was clear they have a lot of experience working on older New Orleans homes and we valued Bennett's input throughout the construction project. We felt comfortable with our reno in his hands as he was on board right away with the same vision we had for the space. We lived in the house through the renovation process and they were always polite, on time (on a daily basis as well as finishing the project on time) and kept the construction area clean (and they were also really great with our dog). Whenever issues arose Bennett was quick to communicate with us and come up with a resolution. We used Ikea cabinets with end panels that are not very forgiving (foil wrapped edges) and they did a great job with all the finish carpentry. I have recommended them to friends and will definitely call Bennett when we are ready to tackle our next project.
Description of Work: We hired Crescent City Comeback as a general contractor for the renovation of our shotgun double this fall. We did a major reno: gutting two whole rooms to the studs and completely rearranging our kitchen/dining/laundry/office (approximately 260 SF overall). They demoed the whole space including the wall between our old dining and kitchen, framed new walls, hung sheetrock (walls and ceilings), refinished floors, installed new trim, cabinets, appliances, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures & painting.

Description of Work: "This job was the renovation of one side of a double shotgun. Originally, we hired Bennett to do the interior painting as his bid was far below that of the contractor who had replaced the exterior siding/painting. He became the general contractor for the entire job which entailed: painting the interior, tiling and installing new fixtures in two bathrooms, installing a new kitchen counter top, range hood & dishwasher, removing a crumbling interior brick fireplace and repairing the wall, repairing the exterior doors. As we live 900 miles from New Orleans, we needed a contractor we could trust and quickly learned we had one in Bennett. We were very impressed that he was able to get his subcontractors to the job in a timely fashion so that the work proceeded as he'd promised. He was always available to answer any questions we had. We would not hesitate to recommend him. |The only reason I gave him a ""B"" on price was that I don't know how his price compares to any other contractor. We were so impressed with him, we didn't get another bid. "

Never provided an estimate. Called several times to ask for one, but calls were never returned. Gave up. Showed up on time for estimate and was very professional, but no response after that. Not even a call saying "not interested in the job."

I apologize for not getting an estimate back to you. I should have let you know I was not interested in taking on the work. Again, I am sorry. Bennett

The project was the rennovation of one side of a shotgun double camelback. We were 1200 miles away from New Orleans during the work so we needed a contractor who could oversee the project while staying in close contact. Bennett Luke, the owner of Crescent City Come Back, proved to be a very good choice in terms of qualityof work and responsiveness. Almost as importantly, he was very proactive in giving us his opinion regarding necessary changes to the job whether occaisioned by our design choices, or unforseen complications due to problems discovered in the structure. He also was quick to address the small problems with the job that we discovered during our two shot trips to New Orleans to inspect the work. Another minor, but important, advantage of using the company was his willingness to accept shipments at his office of items we chose online for installation; everything from toilets to lighting fixtures. He also did a great job of coordinating the work plumbers, electricians, etc. He also did a good job of communicating with our tenant and neighbors- smoothing the ruffled feathers that a job of this size is bound to cause. But most important was his dedication to quality. Almost every change he suggested that improved the quality (and increased the cost) of our project turned out for the best. This was our first major rennovation project. It is a learning experience in the best of situations. And it is particularly difficult from 1200 miles away. We would never do it the same way again. Still, we were lucky to have Bennett on the job. His willingness to accept and understand our situation, and his dedication to quality work made him an excellent choice for our rennovation project.
