In brief: they shattered two shower glasses, stood me up on installation day without a call, failed to install mirrors in a timely fashion, installed a shower door that was too small and treat me as though I should be happy with whatever they give me whenever they decide to do the work. I'm not. On the scheduled date of installation they neither showed up or called. When I called them they told me they had shattered the bath glass. They said they would reorder and call me when they were ready to install the second glass. They would not install the mirror glass until they were ready to install the shower glass. About a week later they called to schedule the second installation day. This was nine days from the original installation date. They showed up to install the glass and everything went fine until they were packing up to leave. My wife had to ask them what was going on before they would tell her that they shattered this glass also. Again, they did not install the 6 medicine cabinet mirrors. The installer was trying to say that the glass must have been defective when he said "I didn't see that" while looking at the installation instructions. I felt sorry for the guy but did tell him that they should expedite a new glass since this was the second foul up on their part. He said they would and he'd have the boss call me when he returned to the store. A couple hours go by and I get no call. I called them. The lady I spoke with said the boss was just coming in and she would have him call me immediately. That was 1 pm. No call ever came. I called them again the next day and was upset. So far they have stood me up one day, shattered two showers, failed to install my mirrors and not returned my calls. Once again I was told that someone would call me the next day to come "look at the shower". There was nothing to be accomplished at looking at the non-existent shower. But a "quality control" guy showed up the next day. I went through the whole history with him. He said I shouldn't be upset with them because everybody makes mistakes. I told him it was the way they treat you after making their mistakes that made me angry. He said I should "forget the past and concentrate on the future". I told him they should expedite the third glass installation only to be told that their "schedule has already been made out". So now I get put at the end of the line! Sure enough, almost two weeks went by before the third glass is delivered and installed. Now, upon installation I see that there is a very large gap between the door and the wall. Almost 3/4 inch times 7 feet makes for a large hole in a shower. When I questioned the installer about that he says I "shouldn't expect that this kind of shower to be waterproof". He told me to try the shower the next day and he would call me back to see what I thought. Of course, he has never called and, yes, a lot of water ends up on the floor outside the shower. I called my contractor who had recommended Acme. He looked at the glass and agreed that the gap was significantly larger than a professional job should allow. He says it was obviously mis-measured and that I should not pay for it until it is replaced. Now he is calling the owner of the company he has referred several clients too. Its been over a week and the owner refuses to return his call. Acme did send him the bill though. On the statement in bold letters reads "CUSTOMER SERVICE is our #1 priority!!!" In my experience it has proven to be the last thing on their mind. In every aspect of dealing with Acme Glass and Mirror I have found a complete lack of courtesy, precision, integrity and professionalism.
Description of Work: Ordered and installed a frameless 3/8" glass shower plus 6 mirrors for medicine cabinets.
