+ 4 moreI attempted to act as my own contractor prior to hiring PeMar and met with lots of no-shows, high prices and frustration. Unfortunately, I hired an electrician before connecting with PeMar, but that's another story. Peter Young is the co-owner of PeMar with his wife, Marilyn Young, who is an interior designer with Jim Owens, which provides flooring and cabinets. No one who works with Peter is obligated to shop at Jim Owens, but for me this happy combination worked very well. Peter is extremely knowledgeable, a former president of and an active member of the Homebuilders' Association. He shows up when he says he is going to a first for me (I have had two other major renovations in the past that didn't go so well). He worked with me to accomplish my goals, or let me know when something was impossible or impractical. I am very pleased with the end result.
Description of Work: PeMar was the general contractor on the total renovation of my home after it took on 8 feet of flood water from the levee break. Other than the gutting and electrical, PeMar provided all the subs--plumbing, gas, carpentry, painting, sheetrock, etc.
