+ -1 moreWe met several times in the showroom and came up with a good plan for our 100sq ft kitchen. The price seemed a bit high for what were getting. When asked for a breakdown of the pricing, our requests were ignored. On March 8, 2013, we gave 50% deposit for the cabinets and 50% deposit for the installation. The quality of communication dropped off precipitously after the money was received. Questions were either not answered or were answered with terse, unhelpful responses. Cabinets arrived May 6, 2013, installation took place the next 2 days. A couple pieces were missing and took another month to come in. The whole job wrapped up on June 10. The cabinets were pricey but they look great. The process was slow and I did not feel like a valued customer - especially after payment was received.
Description of Work: Helped us come up with a plan for the kitchen, ordered kitchen cabinets and pulls and arranged installation.

+ 1 moreI had a disappointing experience with Nordic Kitchens. The level of customer service I received was poor. Items were not ordered nor delivered as promised. The day before my cabinets were to be installed, I received a call from Nordic, notifying me that the installler was on a large job, and would not be able to install the cabinets for another week. When they did come to install, they did not have all the items I ordered , one cabinet was damaged, and the installeer had no intention of telling me about the damaged cabinet. The power strip I had ordered held up my installation for four weeks and when finally came in, I had to pick it up at the warehouse and the strip was the wrong size. Other items were not received on time. Had I not stayed on top of this, I probably would still be waiting for my items. I wish I had not shaken off the two Angie reviews i read before I decided to go with Nordic. I thought mabye they were isolated incidents, but my experience was very similar to both of them. I would think twice before going with Nordic.
Description of Work: Designed , Provided and installed kitchen cabinets. Provided kitchen sink, faucet, and several other accessories.

Description of Work: We were renovating our home and thought we might employ the help of a kitchen designer. We met with one of Nordic's designers and showed a multitude of pictures and designs we liked. We also stated how we wanted the general layout to look. At first we were impressed with the design, but when it came to the details (ie appliances, hoods, counter tops, etc) we had issues. We have a true commercial range with 10 burners and the designer couldn't find a hood that would accommodate us. We had to out source this. He also couldn't find our prep sink that we wanted or the river sink. When we found them at Southland Plumbing he became irritated and asked if we were going to get all our things from other sources. We had a bid for marble counter tops from Nordic, but found a better price and style with a local company and they cut and installed the marble for $5,000 less than Nordic's quote. Our first cabinetry bid came in at over $80,000 and we had to have our architect call the owner to see what could be done. Next cabinetry bid was $40,000. Amazing!!!! The designer did not show up for the drop off of any of the cabinetry or appliances. Several items were damaged, left out and just didn't work. This took calls to the owner to get cleared up. We also wanted a specific type of oven and called and called, but finally were told that they couldn't find it. I said he could get it in Baton Rouge, and he said it would be easier for me to go and get it myself. We had to find and acquire our own lighting as well. We also asked for a chopping block to be inserted into the island, but he didn't want to do that, so he tried to sell us their counter top version. We also didn't get any suggestions for cabinetry hardware or handles for the appliances, which we assumed came with handles. All in all, there was a lack of communication and service. We were seriously disappointed with the entire process. We love the appliances, but that is about it. We feel that they didn't design our kitchen, we did with all the work we had to do to get things done. If you are paying a professional for design and installation, they should accommodate you and not have limited resources.

+ 2 moreWe remodeled the back section of our home to incorporate a new kitchen. Nordic was helpful with the layout and style we wanted. Very professional floor plans and schematics. Plans were updated per our requests. Installation support and guidance was helpful until the point we went with a 3rd party counter top installer rather than Nordic's recommended supplier. (Side note: Nordic's supplier quoted the counter top job at $5500. The 3rd party installer completed the counter top job for $3100.) At this point, the installation support for all areas dropped. Not just questions related to the counter top installation, but questions on back-ordered faucets, hood vent installation, sink installation, etc. All inquiries required repeated calls and emails to Nordic. The invoices arrived with generic line item names for the cabinets (e.g. single line item - cabinets as per plans). The appliance invoices included the manufacture's code and minimal description of the appliance. The "All Sales are Final" policy is buried in the fine print, but not verbally communicated. There was no walk through of the invoice with an explanation of each line item. We were stuck with any unwanted items. All in all, our experience started positive with the design phase of the project. Nordic has the experience and knowledge to provide a 1st class kitchen design. Inadequate post-sales support and an unwillingness to accept a unwanted item soured our overall experience.
Description of Work: Designed new kitchen layout. Assisted with the selection of cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. Ordered and delivered appliances and cabinets.
