Mr Fix It

The current work was done very professional, in good quality and fast. I hired Mr. Fix it three times and must to say they technicians work very professional and fast.

I relocated to New Mexico and needed long distance renovations on my old house in Meraux, LA, to get it move-in ready for listing. Despite some initial scheduling issues and a couple personal crises, Bret was very accommodating in scheduling through my agent. I received estimates and invoices promptly via email with very clear & accurate work estimates for basic work and noted undetermined additional costs including a flat fee for going to the store plus the cost of any materials needed to complete work. I was able to hire one worker for $495 to do eight hours of work on my different projects, much more economical and convenient than attempting to contract work from several different companies for small jobs like mine. Jody did an excellent job with the odd & ends I needed. He repaired a windowsill badly chewed by my 140 lb. Mastiff. The house has since been painted, and the repairs are invisible. He did a fine job creating a shelf and repairing the under the sink cabinet which was damaged due to a leaking faucet. He selected & installed the door to the garage. The additional expense beyond the 8 hours of labor was the $75 shopping fee and a reasonable $300 for materials including the pre-hung door, wood for the window sill & kitchen cabinet, and sundries. After the floors & painting were done, I scheduled a second visit to finish my odds & ends. The job was supposed to take 2 days, but Bret knew we were trying to list the house ASAP and were well behind schedule. My father died in May, and my agent had a personal crisis so things were a bit crazy. I was very pleasantly surprised when Bret called to let me know he scheduled two technicians and got everything completed in one day. Window blinds, ac vents, wire closet shelving, closet door tracks, and exterior shutters were all installed properly. Jody did a fine job installing the cabinet skins (which I ordered & pre-paid) on the sides of the lower cabinets, He recommended that both ends be replaced for a more uniform look so both were done. The pressure washing made a world of difference & gave the house added curb appeal. All estimates were accurate and reasonable. The work was completed timely and the quality of work went beyond my expectations. Overall, I absolutely recommend Mr Fix It. I even recommended them to my mother so you know I'm satisfied.

Jodi wasn’t able to replace the faucet due to not having the correct tool.

The quality of the work was good. They missed one small crack, and one section of repaired drywall is noticeable raised, but overall I was pleased with the quality of the work.

Our experience was outstanding. Aaron was very professional and got everything done within the estimated timeframe. The cost was well worth having him change out all lights throughout the kitchen, living room, master bedroom, outdoors with LED lights. He also did exceptional work installing a hanging light fixture over the dining room table. We would highly recommend Mr Fix It for any home repair and installation work.

Mr Fix It did a fantastic job repairing a crack in our ceiling, building a new front column, replacing rotten wood in a door frame, and painting multiple places throughout our living area. We would definitely recommend the Mr Fix It team and plan to use their series moving forward.

I emailed project instructions and photos, and Bret said he’d get back to me the next day. After not hearing from Bret for a week, I reached Darra—who was wonderful. I was thrilled with their scheduling communications until my property manager was waiting for them at the property and Jody simply never showed up...not 2 hours after Darra called to ask if we could move the appointment earlier. I thought we were back on track when Jody walked through the projects with me and said everything looked great, no problem, and Bret would get back to me with an exact quote. Then 2 hours later I got a call from Bret and Jody with Bret saying that they didn’t really do the things I was asking for, like “We don’t do wallpaper.” Ok, but why did it take a week and a walkthrough to tell me that, and why did Jody say “no problem” about it during the walkthrough? Ultimately they said they’d put the covers on the pergola that afternoon. They did one, left the other sitting in the living room floor, and then I never heard from them again except a bill for 1/2 day’s work.

The company, Mr. Fix It, left without finishing the job. They were supposed to paint and re-attach 6 ft. sections of baseboards to my hallway area, as per the estimate. Again, they just left without completing the job. Also, the paint job was done unprofessionally. You could see thicker brush marks at the tops and sides of each room but a hinner coat of paint in middle of rooms. In some areas of the rooms, the original coat of paint actually showed through after they had finished painting! My baseboards were also ruined because the painter overlapped the paint onto the baseboards when he painted the walls. My baseboards were white, the new colors were light yellow, and ivory. When I pointed this out to the manager, he didn't think anything was wrong with this. He also suggested that I would have to pay more if I wanted another coat of paint on the walls. Of course, the estimate did not mention this either. Most people assume that the finished paint job would adequately cover the wall area, without leaving spotty places nor leaving the original paint showing through the newly painted wall. Buyers beware! I would not recommend this company to any person.

Work was thorough and excellent. He was very communicative and punctual. Hauled away trash, and assisted with clean-up of dust from old sheetrock which shook loose when he struggled to remove ancient attic ladder. I did thorough cleaning later. Excellent work and I will definitely call on him again when needed, as well as recommend him to my friends and family.

I was very pleased with the gentlemen (Jodi and Hershel) that performed the services and very impressed with Bret. I appreciated that he stopped by to check on the projects. Jodi and Hershel were personal, easy to talk to and work with, timely, professional and did a great job making sure the work was completed and that the I was pleased. I will definitely be recommending these guys to friends and will be using them again.

I know nothing about plumbing, but it seems the repair was appropriate. Everyone in town had frozen pipes on this day, and other contractors were saying wait times were days to a week. These folks came out the same day I called, much appreciated.

It went great. When I inquired about their service for the following week they unfortunately had no openings for that week. The following day they contacted me to advise there was now a open day for my original date requested. The day of my appointment I received a text with the handyman’s name, phone number of estimated arrival time. He showed up on time. Was very professional and courteous. Completed the the repairs on the two ceiling fans and mounted the hallway mirror in the time allotted. I would definitely use their services again for any future repairs and recommend to friends and family members.

The gentleman who came out assessed what I would need and obtained the materials necessary to complete the job. I received a text msg. several days beforehand notifying me what day and time he would arrive, and another when he was en route to my home. I have "never" had a contractor do this. He arrived at my home at the scheduled time and was very polite and knowledgeable about the work to be done and listened to my last minute concerns. I found him to be very knowledgeable and his workmanship was meticulous! I don't normally write reviews, but felt this company truly deserves a huge thumbs up for their "excellence" in work ethic, dependability, quality work and integrity! I can't say enough. I am extremely pleased in my dealings with this company. They are a quality company and truly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be using them in the future!

The only thing that did not go as planned was that there were more boxes to remove than I think was anticipated, and they were not prepared to take them that day. But I worked it out, and everything was good otherwise. I would hire again, and probably will soon.
