The technician showed up while my wife was home. They diagnosed 2 bad fuses and replaced them. We were never provided any pricing on the work and my wife was told the bill would be emailed to her. When it wasnâ t, I had to call and have it sent to me. The price was $523 for swapping 2 fuses which took less than an hour. I called and asked for a breakdown of the pricing since the receipt simply indicated $424 for replacing 2 fuses and a $99 dispatch fee, which was never disclosed to us at any point. The office worker was unable to provide pricing and had the technician call me back. I was told the dispatch fee would be removed but was not provided further explanation on the $424 for swapping two fuses. I emailed the office for a more detailed explanation on the charges and explained that we were not provided any pricing upfront. They replied and dismissed my complaints and told me that my wife was provided the pricing and approved it beforehand, which is simply false. They also stated in the email reply that they â use straight forward pricing which includes labor and materials.â I pointed out to them again that they provided NO pricing until after the job was complete and the technician had departed and that they still had not given a breakdown of the charges by material and labor, as they claim they do in a â straightforwardâ manner, and I again asked for the price of the materials and the rate they charged us for the labor. No email reply has since been received with that answer. The cost of breakers is very cheap and accessible online. The technician was at our home for less than one hour. Mr Sparky charged us $424 for the work of swapping two breakers and upon being asked multiple times is unable to give an answer other than $212 per breaker swap. How did they arrive at that price? They are either unable or refuse to answer. As for not providing us this price upfront and thus not allowing the consumer to agree upfront that it is fair and agreeable, they simply claim that they did. I have made numerous amicable attempts to contact Mr Sparky about this and other than having the dispatch fee removed, have been dismissed. They have not directly answered any of my questions via email and appear to now be not responding since it is demonstrably evident that they did not answer it any other time it has been asked. I will not use this business again and I will advise anyone else not to as well. It is one thing to be overpriced, it is quite another to be dishonest and evasive.
