Description of Work: Earl's installed an excellent water heater in my laundry room. All the work was above my expectations and the finished job was excellent. The installer took the time to teach me all the safety features and controls on the new water heater. I was so pleased that he even took the old one away. Earl's is the only plumbing company I have ever used. All of their work is done correctly the first time.

+ -1 moreThis was the second time we used them in a week. Both times we had Briton and Philip do the work. (I highly recommend both of these guys). The whole process started because we discovered we had a water leak under the slab. (A hot water leak). The first time they came to reroute the hot water lines, and while here, they snaked a bathtub drain for us, thinking the pea trap was clogged. While here, we discovered the pipe was broken under the slab in the same spot the hot water pipe was leaking. So the reroute was discussed for the tub line. They were clever enough to discover they could reroute the drain without tunneling under the house. They took a lot of time investigating where the pipes went by making a few small holes in the ceiling and using cameras and flashlights to find the other drain stacks from upstairs. We flushed upstairs toilets so they could listen to the water running down the pipes in the walls. Ideally we'd have liked to have tunneled to fix the original pipe, but the cost would have been exponentially higher and they may have found more problems than we were currently aware of. ....next time.
Description of Work: They rerouted a tub drain line from upstairs by cutting a hole in the ceiling downstairs and running the new line to a different drain stack. We had Briton and Philip doing the work. Both young men are very knowledgeable in their field and they work well together in a team effort. They endured us watching them work the whole day and asking questions as they worked. They brought their own tarp style thing and bucket devices to catch the mess. However, I would suggest to any homeowner who is having drywall (or ceiling) cut open with a reciprocal saw to cover EVERYTHING with cheap plastic tarps prior to the arrival of the plumbers because fine white dust floats through the air and everything has to be cleaned/dusted afterwards. They did sweep up all chunks and took all old slimy wet and drippy cast iron pipes with them. They didn't leave any garbage behind. While here, they also replaced a pipe for us under the upstairs sink.

+ -1 moreI recommend this company. Their office people who answer the phones are helpful and polite and knowledgeable as well as the plumbers being qualified. I specifically requested they send a plumber that knew what he was doing....explained we'd recently had a plumber we were not happy with from a different company.
Description of Work: They rerouted our hot water lines due to a leak under the slab. (that is the short version). A few days prior to them coming we discovered we had a hot water leak under the slab. We searched for a plumber on Angie's list, and chose Earl's plumbing because they had excellent ratings. (A neighbor had also suggested them because she's used them several times). The day before they came we had Accurate Leak Detection come to use his high tech device to locate the water lines in the walls/ceiling and he marked where the problems were and where the pipes needed to be cut for the rerouting. Briton and Philip were our plumbers. I highly recommend both of these young men, they are SMART. They know their line of work. They did a thorough job and they communicated well with us as they were working and did not make a mess. While here, they also NOTICED without us telling them that we had a new hot water tank in our attic (we had it installed two weeks prior by a different plumber....and they told us that it was not installed up to code and told us what was wrong). This is the second reason why we lost confidence in our first plumber (unrelated problem) and did not use the first company again.

+ 1 moreWe had a downstairs slab removed and re-installed. All plumbing lines had to be removed and re-installed. This included all sewer drain lines and water lines. Also a toilet, vanity, washing machine, hot water heater. Excellent work overall. Professional. On time. Helpful. Big work for a big company, yet still a local family oriented type service.
Description of Work: Under slab sewer drain installation. New hot water heater. All bathroom water pipe removal (for total demolition) and re-installation. Toilet and vanity installation. Upstairs tub drain lines removal and installation of new.

He fitted me in before he had to go into the city for a call. I didn't do a lot of pricing. I paid more than it would have normally been because it was a Sunday emergency call as opposed to a planned weekday call. The quality of work was excellent. His responsiveness was excellent. His punctuality was good. His professionalism was excellent.
Description of Work: Earls Plumbing and Heating came out and replaced a clogged up and broken trap under my bathroom sink. It was an emergency and it was a weekend.

+ 0 moreVery pleased with the whole experience. Called in the morning when they opened and they said they could come out same day. I had tried a few other plumbers with good ratings on the site first and they either would not come out to Chalmette or they were busy till next week. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. She had to check first if they do come out to Chalmette. Lucky for me they did. They got on the roof to get the clog out of the bathroom pipes. Just took a few minutes. Seemed to have flushed whatever was cloggging it out. So grateful they could come out on such short notice. I can use my shower and toilet once again! Hope it stays unclogged, or I will try the video inspection next. Will recommend them to everyone, thought the price was pretty fair.
Description of Work: bathtub draining very slow, toilet bubbles and drains when the bathtub is done draining or when using bathroom sink. Used K60 from vent above bathroom large funnel auger about 60' hit a few hard spots. If happens again will run video inspection.

+ 0 moreThe plumbers from Earl's completed all work in one day, arriving around 10:30 and finishing around 5:00. That was impressive because they had a lot to do. They discovered that the sink didn't have an emergency cut off and installed one even though that task wasn't in the original request. They also did extra work on the sink to help the customer-supplied fixture work better. After they left, a slow leak developed with the toilet tank. They returned promptly after being notified and tightened the bolt. Overall pricing was fair for the amount of work completed.

+ -1 moreThe plumbers called and said they were on their way. By 7:40 am I had explained the problem they checked both bathrooms and laundry. They went outside to my main sewer line and with a cutter head ran 75ft through to clean out the line. The workmen were courteous and professional. By 8:25 am they were finished, cleaned-up and on their way. My only B grade I gave them was on the price. I basically figure that my main sewer line is easily accessible on my patio and did not require any trouble to get to, however; when I called several plumbing companies, this seems to be the going rate. Overall, I am well pleased and would use them again.
Description of Work: When draining the bathtub or washing a load of clothes, both toilets would start to bubble-up (not a good sign). The lady Brenda at the office was very friendly and offered to send a truck immediately and told me the pricing upfront depending upon which size drain needed to be cleared. I set-up the appointment for the next day.

They were scheduled to perform the work on Monday, May 17 but called to say they could get to us on Friday May 14. This was great becasue we had to have this work done & verified for the parish (county) inspection dept by May 20, They also coordinated with the parish inspectors to come out on Monday for inspections. The guy also went of of his way to speak with the home inspection company to let him know what he saw in the attic. Both gentleman were extemely polite and very helpful. I would definitely use them again with any plunbing issues.

+ -1 moreThey were not so good, they missed a leak in the wall and they ended up going under the slab. They called in an expert and he diagnosed the leak underneath the slab. They did a lot of unnecessary work. The leak was in the wall, but they thought it was in the slab and so they did all that work under our slab and we had to pay for half of it.
