+ -1 moreIt went about as bad as possible. Not only did they demonstrate complete incompetence, but when my daughter called later to bring up her complaints they responded very rudely. My daughter called to discuss the issue with the manager of the company. He rudely told her "they have been doing this for years" and "it isn't their job to listen to the suggestions of the customer." Additionally, he said "I don't f*ing know what you are talking about and you won't be getting a cent back." According to my daughter (who is not a technician by any means, she is a student), it was very clear by just looking at it that it was not a control panel issue. Every light was working normally, every button and knob was turning properly except for the start button. The people who work here are at best completely incompetent, and at worst are scam artists trying to take advantage of older people. The way they spoke and how rude they were is completely unacceptable.
Description of Work: In short: absolutely nothing (for $100). Came out to fix a washing machine which had a broken start button. I called my daughter who looked online and saw this was a relatively common problem with an easy fix that required cutting off the start button. I decided to call them to see if there was a nicer way to do this than to just go in with scissors and tweezers. The repairman arrived and promptly told me that it was a control panel issue and that the control panel ($300+) or the whole washer ($800+) would have to be replaced. During the visit, I mentioned that my daughter had seen online that it may be an isolated button issue and asked him to look into it, to which he condescendingly replied that "it was a problem with the internal computer." He then charged $98 for the "diagnosis" and left. Later that night, my daughter came over with her scissors and tweezers and fixed the problem in under 5 minutes using a YouTube video.

+ -1 moreUpdate to my prior review. After 3 weeks was contacted by the manager. She apologized and they are sending me my filters. While I was disappointed in how long this took, they did make it right . I have no complaints about their service technicians or the work they provide.

Repair went well. Workman showed up on time as scheduled, diagnosed problem, and had new pump on his truck to repair it immediately. They have a set rate for service call and repair labor regardless of how simple or difficult job is which in this case turned out to be a little on the higher side, but repairman was on time and repair taken care of without hassle.
Description of Work: Company is called Dependable Appliance out of Franklinton now but has a New Orleans number too. Provider was called because free standing ice maker was not circulating water anymore.
