We had a fire almost a year ago in the back part of a four-plex building. We had to redo four kitchens. We decided since we were doing the four kitchens we might as well replumb and add 4 bathrooms. I have an ongoing dispute with them. I had to let them go and I ended my relationship with them. At the start of the experience it was fairly promising and started out okay. It developed that Craig wanted to change the job specifications in the middle of the job. His price of $6,000 was just for one unit. He could not figure out a way to get water to the house for the unit above the one that he bid on. He did not have a comprehensive plan for the whole building. He would have left us with the plumbing for one new kitchen. We have gas heat so it would also have included gas lines. I learned from my mistakes and became more proactive in my dealing with these contractors. He went off on a cruise with the money that he obtained while I was homeless. I am not the owner; I am the manager. The owner is quite elderly and she is 86 so she depends on me to procure the service people that are needed for everyday maintenance. We had a policy for $155,000 and the damage was estimated at $180,000 so we had to try to make the $155,000 stretch. When we checked with the city permit department we found out that one of the units had to be rebuilt.
Description of Work: I used Craig's Plumbing to install an electric water heater and they tried to repipe this building.

Response from Craig's Plumbing
Not true, my contract was for one unit downstairs and four gas lines we then gave her a price of the other 3 units, she received other quotes from unlicensed workers that talked the client's 90 year old mother into doing the work and stated my work was not correct. Craig's Plumbing reported this job to the state plumbing board. Craig's Plumbing removed himself from this job, after finding workers on jobsite. Craig's Plumbing only got paid for work performed. Craig was working with the mother, in which he only spoke with the client breifly according to the general contractor. The general contractor has had problems with the client because of his drug addictions his word is of no value.
