Two days before Christmas, my electric dryer began making a tremendous noise - metal on metal - not a good sound. New dryer not in the budget so I called A & R - very nice lady squeezed me in the next day. Tech, Kevin, did a fantastic job - I feel I have a new dryer!! Will definitely call upon them again. Gotta love ANGIE'S LIST!!

They were on time, courteous, and my dryer works great.

Was able to repair washer with materials on hand instead of automatically getting unnecessary new parts. Appointment made confidently and arrived exactly as promised. Mature and knowledgeable service man - Russell was great.

They repaired my dryer, fixed the switch. They came out pretty quickly, and solved the issue.

When I called, the person answering the phone was professional and courteous. She explained the time for the appointment, and the technician would call to let me know when he was on his way. The technician called and arrived on time. The washing machine was fixed. I will definitely use them again.

I called this company after being ignored by another company that was supposed to come out but did not show. When I called this company the woman that answered the phone was very professional and had no problem scheduling someone to come out. The only problem was I had to wait until the following week for someone to come out because they were backed up. I was provided a time and date and was told Daniel would call before he came out. I received the call within the allotted time and Daniel showed up right after that. He advised me of what he did and there was another problem that he could not repair but advised me what I could do to remedy it and it worked. The total time for him to repair my refrigerator was about an hour and I have not had a problem since.

My Frigidaire stacked washer/dryer broke. A&R diagnosed the main transmission was broken - that's a very large, key piece of the machine. They ordered a new part and replaced it. The washer is now working perfectly! The parts cost $486, but a new stacked washer/dryer is over $1500, so I opted for the repair: parts were $487 (ouch!) and A&R charged me $130 for labor, which included two visits, replacing the defective transmission and running a complete wash cycle to make sure the washer was working OK. A&R is a father and son company and they are very nice and efficient - showed up right on time, both times. They also fix refrigerators. A&R will be my 'go to' repair company in future.

I was happy with them. The job was excellent. They were very professional and showed up on time. They didn't track anything in the house. We had a problem but they brought the parts with them so they were able to fix it and didn't have to come back. They gave me a option to either replace the part that wasn't functioning or to try and fix it and if the fix didn't work then they would come back and give credit towards what I had already paid. They gave me a lot of options and they came prepared to fix it.

Woman who answered the phone was extremely professional. Gave me a date and time frame. Got a call that day early that Danny could come sooner. I wasn't available, he said no problem, and would come at the scheduled time. Arrived at my house, cleaned out the vent and told me how much the new door sensor would be. Didn't give me a hard sell, explained that I didn't really need it. I decided I did want it, so he went out and purchased the sensor and replaced. Didn't take long. Said that the reason my clothes weren't drying was that the machine was in the outside laundry room (no a/c) and the thermostat was getting thrown off my the heat in the room. Said cleaning the vent should help dry the clothes better. The next week, did laundry, still not drying at all. Called back, and asked if they could come out. No problem, different technician this time. Called the day of to reconfirm time of appointment. He said it is the coils that need to be replaced. Didn't charge me for another house call, just parts and service for the new coils. Although I think the first technician missed this diagnosis, when I called back they didn't charge me for another call, and all 3 employees I dealt with were professional. I would recommend them again. Got an Angie's List discount for both services, which was nice.

On time called before coming quick repair with part in hand. I knew what the issue was before hind so i knew he was honest. This is my third time to use them.

On the scheduled day, Kevin called to tell me he was able to arrive earlier than the appointed time. He was very knowledgeable & professional. He had to give us the unfortunate news that the compressor was bad and gave the honest assessment that the repair would not be worth it .... $700 for a new compressor! Since another family member was home when he came, he called me at work per my request & explained everything. He charged the service fee minus a 10% Angie's list discount. Later I thought of more questions about how to manage our present frij until we could get a new one. I hated to bother him, but called his cell 2 days after his visit & left a message. I was pleasantly surprised when he called back that evening, apologizing for the delay, & thoroughly answered my questions & made recommendations! What a super nice guy. Add us to the list of satisfied customers!

He called me as he approached my home, about 2 hours earlier than expected. Delightfully courteous and professional. Arrived and cautiously cleaned his feet at our door, and came in to the oven with a small, meticulously arrayed tool bag. He did a few diagnostic tests on the oven controls, pulled it out (It is large and heavy, I supplied a small stand to lean it on as it came out of the wall). He did diagnostics on the boards (one for each oven), showed me the scorched marks on one, and not the other. He called his supplier, located on the west bank, who had one in stock. He asked if he could go get it, he'd be able to repair it on return. He said he had another call to make on the west bank so picking it up after the call would help him as well. I agreed. He left, made his other service call, picked up the new part, returned to my home about 530pm (having asked if it would be ok to work this late into the day), completed the work, checked for success. I paid him and he left. Extremely satisfied. Then, about 5-10 minutes later, he was back at the door: he had forgotten to turn off the oven after testing it! I am delighted! Many appliances don't need repair these days, but I now have a repairman whom I feel is OK to call if one does indeed need service.

They were recommended to me by a friend and I was very pleased. The repairman repaired and cleaned my stackable dryer. He spent about an hour and everything was put back and the work area was clean. I would use them again and recommend them.

It was very good and he did some work for my daughter.

I called this company to ask if they repair Expresso machines. Although they do not, the lady on he phone recommended a few companies to try. She also took the time to look up phone numbers for me. Extra customer service, which is not always the norm. Appreciated the help!

He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He got the machine working and also found another problem that he suggested was causing the clothes on the top to not circulate well. He suggested I call him back after the holidays (it was right before Thanksgiving) so he could get the broken part and replace it, which i haven't had time to do. He charged a reasonable amount.

Russell showed up on time (actually, a little early). He quickly identified the problem. He was carrying the required spare part, so he was able to replace it immediately. The procedure required disassembly and reassembly that was expertly, quickly, and cleanly performed. I strongly recommend A&R.

Extremely pleased with the service. The repair person couldn't have been better. Easy to communicate with. Visit was punctual. Am so glad to have a service to use for appliance repair in the future.

For the first time ever (and I deal with a lot of good repair companies) I have NO complaints or concerns with the service I received from this company. The repairman was courteous, listened carefully to my explanation of the problem, did the repair promptly, and gave a clear, concise explanation of his work as he did it (with a 90 day warranty, as well). Natural gas appliance repair is one thing I never risk doing myself and therefore know little about, so it would have been easy to overstate the repair necessary. Honesty is the quality I value most in service employees and I am glad to say A & R has joined the small group of companies on my "call these first" list of repair services.

Technician was cordial and very personable. Guaranteed the service call for 30 days. Have already recommended him to two neighbors.

Repairmen Daniel arrived at appointment time and was knowledgeable and professional. As usual when repairman arrived dryer started working, Daniel said that from description of problem he would check and sure enough it quit working 2 minutes after he started cycle. He knew what needed to be done, had the necessary part and was finished in 40 minutes. I would recommend A & R to my friends and would surely use them again.
