Starving Student Movers

The other review on this site is almost verbatim what happened to me. S & S Movers or Starving student Movers or Baton Rouge Moving Company or what ever name they are selling to you is a sham. they quote you one price then overcharge and never refund your money....(my fault, i should have just paid the amount quoted and not a penny more and let them bill me). They have a total of about 20 different phone numbers and their invoice is the wrong address its listed as ridgewood drive and its ridgewood loop (this makes an extreme difference if you enter it into googlemaps). these guys are professional allright.... PROFESSIONAL LIARS and CHEATS!!!! do your research, i wish i did. USE ANYONE BUT THESE PEOPLE....invoice is hard to decipher and they ended up overcharging 343 dollars. When i finally got in touch with Tom the accountant he told how sorry he was and that is was unprofessional of his employees to overcharge and he would cut me a refund then it was excuse after excuse and how he forgot to get the check in the mail but assured me it would be in my mailbox the following day, two at the latest. investigate these shammers please and put them down....

It was definitely unsatisfactory in every way. It was two young men and one of them claims that they lost the check. He asked for another check so my husband issued another one. Now they have deposited both checks and will not give us a refund. They say they will and lied and said the check was mailed, we are getting the run around. It was pouring down rain the day we moved. They were very late showing up, we contacted the office and they said the truck was broke down. I tried to find another mover and I couldn't. She called back and said the truck was on it's way but she didn't tell us that the truck leaked and the end loader was broken. They had to load everything from the side of the truck which was inconvenient. Everything was already planned and we pretty much had to go through with it. I regret it now. The main thing is that they owe us almost $700. They have 3 different phone numbers and I called all of them and they just keep asking for our address and saying it's in the mail. I don't know what kind of company would do this sort of thing. I had used them once before several years ago, I thought they were reliable but I was mistaken. They also walked off with 2 of my husbands screw drivers and our mattresses got wet on one end. We weren't too happy about that. It was a nightmare. The original price was reasonable but if you have to double it then it's unreasonable. I wasn't crazy about the guy who moved us, he kind of had an attitude.

It was a horrible day--2 men who were so slow. It was obvious that they wanted to get paid a lot of money for that day. It took them 9 hours to move 1 bed, 1 baby bed, 1 sofa, 1 love seat, 1 chair, 1 dryer, 1 washer, 1 refrigerator, 1 freezer, 1 entertainment center, 2 tvs and lots of boxes. Basically 1 bedroom plus a baby bed. No dinette table nor chairs. They would take 1 drawer out at a time to the truck. They also put the bed together wrong so that they had to take additional time putting it together right the second time. Well, $1,030 later we wish we had used Angie's list to find a mover. I hope no one ever has to go through this again. There was nothing we could do to rush them along even though it was costing us $98 an hour.
