I had been a satisfied customer for over 10-years and was pleased until I came to realized how overpriced they are and how they made me feel like they take advantage of customers like me. The technicians were always pleasant and courteous but do not want to repair, but rather want to replace a system. I had to replace a small sump pump the size of a Kleenex box and paid $582. My second unit stopped cooling they checked that out at the same time and told me there is a Freon leak, the compressor is going bad and the service plan would not cover the replacement. The recommendation was to replace the entire system because it was too costly to troubleshoot a 10-year old unit. And I should replace both and get a better discount even though the second unit was still fine. I would also have to spend $300 for 2lbs of Freon to get it cooling again but if I buy the new unit I would not get charged for this. So I did the smart thing and got a second opinion, why not, $24,000 is a lot of money. I had a recommended service come in and in quickly diagnosed the coil had a leak (amazing, he opened the closet door and said he could smell it that easy!) and could easily be replaced at a mere fraction of the cost without replacing the entire system. We also found that the compressors had not been properly cleaned at least for the last two service checks and one of the problems I now faced was in part due to the units not being cleaned properly. When they removed the coil we even found the owner’s manual for the unit stuck to the side of the coil inside the unit (nice). So they wanted to sell me two new AC units for $24K when all I needed was a $1500 repair, you wanted to charge me $300 for 2lbs of Freon, I paid $150 for 4lbs. I have been a satisfied customer for over 10 years because I didn't know any better and trusted One Hour with my service and my money. I will not be calling them again. I will also have to forgo the remainder of my service agreement with them that in June I paid $500+ to renew because they have lost my trust and I will not have them back at my home. Please learn from my mistake!
