I called Montz's washer & Dryer Repairs because my dryer was not heating. The serviceman stated that he could come and check it on that same day. I scheduled an appointment for the afternoon, and asked the price of the service call. He quoted a fee of $75.00 and I agreed. When he finished and wrote the invoice for his services, he changed the service fee to $85.00 plus tax. I asked him about the increase in the service call; he said that it was because of all of the "extra work" he had done. The only thing he did was diagnose the problem. He did not repair the dryer.
Description of Work: My dryer does not get hot. The serviceman took it apart to diagnose the problem.

Great experience. I called and he was out at the house the next day, even though I'm in NO and he's on the northshore. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Explained the problem to me in as much detail as I wanted. Fixed and out the door in no time. And very friendly. Definitely recommend.
Description of Work: The lid switch on my washing machine broke off and had to be replaced. Not a major repair, but needed it done quickly and well. I don't remember what I paid but I remember it was very reasonable and he didn't try to sell me things/services I didn't need.

See above. Montz then greased all of the parts that needed it and charged me quite a lot of money for this grease job! I was charged $146.81!
Description of Work: My washer was making a lot of noise when I used it. I was concerned that it was going to break, so I called Montz's. Montz came out, ascertained that the washer was fine and only needed a little grease in different parts of the washer.

First trip to home for evaluation of problem. No parts carried in stock -- all parts are ordered and installed on second trip to house. Work done promptly after two-day wait for parts shipping. Next time, I will buy a new washer.
Description of Work: Replace lid lock assembly.

Looked up Montz's on Angie's list and called the number. Montz responded to phone call and he was at my house within the hour. After inspecting the machine and finding the lid switch was bad he told me it would be $150.00 to replace but I would only pay the $95.00 service fee to disable. I chose disabling the switch. Mr. Montz was professional, polite and prompt. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Washing machine not spinning or draining. Problem with lid switch so Mr. Montz disabled it at my request instead of replacing the part.

The service was prompt. He did a complete inspection of the appliance. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Mr. Montz inspected the dryer. He determined the problem was with our electrical outlet and not the appliance itself. He was upfront about what he could do. I wish I had called him a month earlier it would have saved me a lot of time and expense trying to fix the dryer myself. Leave it to the professionals. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

He was very nice. He ended up referring me to someone, but he did not service it. I told him what I had and what the problem was, and he told me that he didn't service that particular appliance. He was very helpful, and he didn't waste my time. He called me back really quickly. If I have another appliance break down, I won't hesitate to call him.
Description of Work: I asked him about repairing a box dishwasher.

All I did was call about a washer that was making a certain noise. The man I spoke to said it was too old to repair, and recommended getting a new one, as well as recommending a particular brand.. I would certainly call him again.

I called during the morning of 3 June, he agreed to come by the house during the afternoon. Very Quick response. Once there, he did a thorough inspection of both appliances and advised that the washer was not really worth repairing and the dryer needed a belt. Great advice, AND HE DID NOT EVEN CHARGE A SERVICE FEE! Great Service--MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!
Description of Work: Inspected both Wahwer and Dryer to determine why washer was not working and dryer was "squealing."

Over the weekend we noticed that our clothes dryer would stop in the middle of drying out clothes. Finally the dryer would not work at all, so on Monday I called Montz's Washer and Dryer Repairs and Charlie came out to our house 2 1/2 hours after I contacted him. He opened up the back of the dryer and noticed that the heat sensor was broken, so he went out to his truck to get a replacement sensor and fixed the problem. He was at the house for about 25 minutes. The service visit was $65 which was applied to the work he performed. The total for this repair was $125, which seems a little high to me.

Ed came out within two hours of my call. He was professional and courteous. He worked quickly; he took off the back of my dryer and removed some other pieces. He then found the cardboard box, cleaned out the area and put everything back in place.
Description of Work: Ed removed the cardboard box that my son had put down the dryer vent.
