Description of Work: We used Brister Stephens. It was an entire unit that they put in; the air conditioning, heating and all new vents.

Description of Work: Excellent job. Brister thought of all the impacts on the home---dust, footprints, etc, and took precautions before beginning. They were competitively priced, offered excellent products, and worked quickly and cleanly.

Description of Work: They installed a mini- split heating and AC system in a camp.

Description of Work: My A/C was completely out. They came in and found out that a fuse had caused the unit to stop working, they replaced the fuse, which got the unit up and running. I had them do routine maintenance as well. They came out right away and the price was right. They got me up and going in the heat of Summer, I was very pleased.

Description of Work: During the home inspection process of purchasing a new home, the air conditioning unit was noted as not functioning properly and the Seller hired a licensed technician to do the service and/or repairs in order to put the unit into proper operating condition. Once the repairs were completed, Brister Stephens Inc. in Mandeville came out to do the re-inspection (of the now repaired unit) prior to closing on the house. They discovered that at least two major issues still existed. The unit needed a new evaporator coil and a p-trap needed to be installed in the drain line. They provided a detailed list of required repairs still needed and estimated the cost for repairs and labor.

Description of Work: Brister Stephens installed the original air conditioners in my home when it was built and have been excellent service providers on those units ever since. The larger unit had an old condenser that they warned me needed replacing when they did their annual service in 2008. However, they said (correctly) that they could do a repair, seal the vents and have us see how the unit worked with our new electronically programmed thermostat. It worked well enough to last until the hot season beginning in spring of 2010. At that time, they installed a new condenser that has not only worked flawlessly, but also has saved on energy bills. They are my a/c go-to company of choice - always professional, honest, responsive and fairly priced.

Description of Work: Serviced a 1.5 year old Florida water source heat pump. They came out three times to my home. The first technician knew the unit like the back of his hand. He found the leak in the evaporator coil (heat pump in air conditioning mode (the coil that the interior air flows through) in minutes. He told me that the coil was in warranty, but there would be a charge for the labor. I asked him how much and he gave me a reasonable estimate based on 4 hours of work for a technician and a helper. A different technician came out and I was a little concerned since the first guy seemed to know the unit so well, but he turned out just as good. And they finished the change out in less time than estimated with the cost being less than original estimated. I had to call them out a few weeks later for a different problem with the unit (an electrical problem). The technician showed up in less than two hours on the weekend and had the part on his truck. I would call this company again if I have any more problems with the unit. A friend of mine is a retired A/C man. He is eighty years old, but he installed the unit when my house was built with my help. If I would have known about these guys, I would have let them install the unit.
