Bob and his crew were fantastic. Had repairs done to side of our home and everything went smooth and very professional. Every evening when they finished working, everything was cleaned up. We will definitely use them again for any future home repairs we need.

Bob & Brian did a great job on both bathrooms. Very knowledgeable, reasonable pricing, very helpful, answers phone calls and texts in a timely manner. They made great suggestions to help me with both bathrooms. Old house - uneven walls - seems like there is no job too small or too big for them- I will be using them again for a kitchen upgrade !!! They are great to work with!!! The picture below is the most recent remodel. Before and after pic of the shower!

Bob, Mickey, and Brian worked on our job for approx. 5 days. They are very professional, courteous, and timely. They are hard workers who toiled in "hot, humid conditions" and provided a very professional looking job. My wife and I love the new look of our roof dormers. It was a pleasure dealing with Bob and his crew! Would highly recommend his services!
Description of Work: Install larger windows in two roof dormers. Reduce and redesign "overhangs" on dormers. Remove roof vents over dormers. Create and install molding around new windows. Calk and paint front of two dormers.

It did not go well in the end. The building of the work performed was acceptable. The painting was unacceptable. It simply needed another coat of paint. Paint that WE provided. I called Bob and requested he finish the job. Bob came out and agreed another coat of paint was needed. He agreed to come back out and finish his job. This never happened. I have tried to reach him on multiple occasions. He has lied to me on multiple occasions about coming out to finish the job. He was paid the day he gave me an invoice. Shame on him. I would not recommend hiring Bob - Two Men And A Saw. They may have a saw, just no integrity. Shame Shame

We have used these fellows before and we wanted to use them again. The job was to pull down some plywood siding on a one story house that was getting ratty near gable drip lines and around a chimney. A separate roofing contractor then installed new flashing before the new pressure treated siding was put up. It involved some coordination between the two businesses which Mr. Aksten did without me having to be involved. The siding was pulled down, flashing installed, and new siding put up on the same day.
Description of Work: Replace plywood siding and coordinate with vendor who was replacing roof.

If you are looking for workers that can do everything from carpenter work, painting to plumbing and everything in-be-tween, you should hire Two Men and a Saw. The owner Bob and his son who have 2 other young men working with them. The are very efficient and waste no time. Each has certain duties and they work like clockwork. They arrive early and work all day. This group is very skilled in so many areas. They do wonderful work, cleaup and get everything done. We have been very pleased with their work and we are very glad to write this review for them.

These guys were great. They were on time, very professional, did perfect work (and I'm picky) and best of all-cleaned up after themselves.

I called the company to request an estimate for a ramp to be built for an outdoor storage shed. I told the gentleman I lived in Bush, La. and he said he does work in my area. He said he would call me to let me know when he would be in the area. I told him I could wait. Three weeks later I called back just to check in with him to make sure I was still on the list, nothing more, no pressure for service. I left a message stating those facts. I have not heard from him. This was in the spring, 2013.

Bob is a very talented carpenter. This job was small potatoes for him. His co-worker, Herb, is equally talented and energetic. They complement each other very well. Easy to communicate with, and pleasant to work with. Thanks to Two Men and a Saw for a job well done. I will use them again, for future carpentry jobs.
Description of Work: Replace rotting studs around a leaky window, installed new bay window, replaced various pieces of siding, shutters, and exterior trim, installed new interior trim around new bay window over kitchen sink, installed new piece of granite countertop in bay window to match existing, accomplished all associated painting of new carpentry, fixed broken screens, re-sealed leaky windows.

I liked the name on the truck! While I was drawing I saw his truck with the name and number, and I decided to give him a call. Bob was very polite, careful, etc. when he came into the house. He gave me a quick estimate after taking time to consider the job. Since I was out of town while the work was being done, he kept in touch via text, even texting me pics as the work was progressing. He finished in a reasonable amount of time, and the work was flawless. The drawers affected by the damage were even repaired. Great experience overall. He's now doing some door work for me after Hurricane Isaac. A+++
Description of Work: My cabinet under the kitchen sink had essentially turned into mush by a leaking dishwasher and disposal. Bob of Two Men and a Saw came to my house, looked at the damage, diagnosed the problem, and gave an excellent, fair estimate. The old particle board was replaced with real wood, windows around the damaged area was sealed for added protection, and the disposal was replaced.

I found these two fellows, Bob Aksten and Herb, after observing their truck driving in the area that was labeled with their business name, "Two Men and a Saw." I noted their number and called them to see what they would say about my soffit issues. They came over about a month before they started work, took notes, and gave me a verbal estimate at the time. They followed up with a written one by e-mail when I asked for one, in the same amount. I thought the price was most reasonable for 1.5 days work and I was very happy with the outcome. The two men were a good team and I would gladly use them again for any interior remodeling or exterior repairs I might need in the future. They cleaned up the job site, swept the patio of all dust and debris and canned it. They asked where excess wood and waste wood should be placed and left it as arranged. They said their specialty was repairs in the New Orleans French Quarter where there are strict standards to match new construction to old exterior molding and framing. They also said they built furniture. They said they don't advertise and the quality of their workmanship explains why. Return customers probably keep them quite busy.
Description of Work: I had some deteriorated wood siding around a chimney and two rotted soffits at the corners of the house where they met with an exterior covered patio. They replaced the 4'x8' siding on the chminey with treated wood and replaced the soffit and all trim materials. The soffit corners and small portions of the facia board were the most in need of replacement, but they replaced the full length of soffit against the house and also installed a continuous vent to increase ventilation of the attic. They also cauked and sealed wood seams and the tarred seams and roof shingles in the soffit corner areas. I did the finish painting myself. The price included all materials.
