Mike in the appliance department helped us narrow down the selection to a handful of models. We comparison-shopped at Lowes and checked reviews in Consumer Reports and online, as well as looking through the manufacturer's web sites. Stine's price was identical to what Lowes offered. The big difference was that at Stine, the same salesperson was always there and helpful. At Lowes, several salespeople walked by but avoided making eye contact with us and appeared to be quite busy. For a local delivery, Stine charges $50 per load whereas Lowes' delivery was free. Once we selected the models we wanted and returned to Stine, it couldn't have taken more than 10 minutes to schedule the delivery and complete the purchase. Delivery was scheduled for the next business day (we made the purchase on a Saturday; the appliances were delivered on Monday). The delivery driver called me in advance, per my request, so that I could leave work and meet them. The delivery itself was friendly and professional. The installers took the time to discuss installation options -- as far as where to place the appliances and how best to route the hoses/cables/ducts on the washer/dryer. They were finished in maybe 20-30 minutes. Overall, I was quite satisfied. In this case, I paid $50 more at Stine (since Lowes offered free delivery) but it was worth the premium for the prompt, friendly service.
