C K Mobile Home Movers

I was given an estimate of $1,400 for moving our mobile home 6 miles. We were supposed to move on Monday, April 5. I stayed home waiting for them, and finally called to see where they were. They rescheduled me for the next day. My wife had to take off work the next day to wait for them. When the trailer was finally moved and anchored, they presented me with a bill for $2,800. The change was because of materials they had needed to purchase. A good estimate will take these kind of things into account. When I said that I wasn't expecting this large a bill and would have to the difference sometime over the next few days, Chris (the owner) immediately threatened to haul our home away and put it in storage (which he would also charge us for) unless we paid the full amount in cash that night. No discussion, no negotiation. Everything now. He was taking my home and everything I own hostage over a single day's delay. Do you know how hard it is to get $1,500 in cash within an hour once the banks are closed? Fortunately, after several frantic phone calls, my wife was able to go to an aunt's house to get the difference. She was crying when she got there. NEVER work with this man. He is cruel, irrational, and abusive.
