Description of Work: Auto Service - I needed 4 new tires on my SUV. Sears provided the best brand availability and price for the specified tires. They were prompt at taking my vehicle in and doing the work. Small Appliance - I will NEVER call Sears for this again. I was told by my home repair service that I would get a call on the morning of the service to arrange a time. Instead, the tech called me as he was on his way to my house. Since I was in a Drs. appointment, I had to call him back. At that point I was informed that my service request had been cancelled and I would have to call some other number to reschedule for another day. They essential expect you to sit hostage in your home until they show up. I work for myself and have quite a bit of flexibility - but they have none. I have no idea how you deal with them if you work fulltime outside the home. The tech was rude and unhelpful. I ended up having to replace the appliance, and while Sears might have had the best price, I went elsewhere.

It was a good experience and I got it on sale. We went to Sears because of their price. It isn?t that I love them, but I just looked for the cheapest and they had the cheapest. They didn?t have to do much. We went there, bought the TV, picked it up, brought it home and set it up ourselves. They didn?t need to deliver. The sales guy was good and very informative. He took his time with us. He explained things and showed us all the options like other TV?s, 3D TV?s and all that type of things. He was really good and there was no high pressure at all.
Description of Work: We bought a new 46 inch flat screen LCD TV from Sears about two months ago.

They came out twice. They were excellent. There was no charge for one visit. I was satisfied with both the visits. One of the visits was a miscue on my part. They pointed it out and did not charge me. The other visit was covered under warranty. So, I didn?t spend out of my pocket. The fellow that performed the work knew what he was doing. I think he was a private contractor. It was a good experience. I will definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Sears repaired my ice maker and the refrigerator, 2-3 months ago.

On July 23, 2010 I brought my '99 Honda CRV to Sears in Lafayette, LA because something was wrong. They told me my struts were stuck and needed repair. The quote was $420. Unfortunately they didn't have the parts, but they could get them for me if I came back the next morning. I went back the next morning at 7:30 when they opened. They ordered the parts and I was told the job should only take about an hour or an hour and a half. At 11am my car was finally complete, and as soon as I got in it and drove I heard a horrible noise. I drove it right back to the garage and they looked at it and decided it was a loose strut. I asked if they were sure, because as I had mentioned to them before, I was about to drive a hundred plus miles for work. They assured me it was fine, call if I had any problems. I drove close to 200 miles, and on Sunday when I was returning home I was a couple blocks away when I hit a pot hole and a horrible noise occured again from my driver side tire. I brought the car back on Monday morning at 7:30 and when the mechanic looked at it at 8:30 he said my strut had broken through the mount. He also said customarily they order new mounts when they order new struts, and he wasn't sure why this wasn't done. He had to order the mounts, take off the struts and start over. Half way through the day I was called and told it would be an additional $40 for the mounts. This wasn't in the original quote, but I didn't care, I wanted my car fixed. Although I believed it was Sears' mistake, and not mine, for omitting the mount order in the first place, I knew they wouldn't do it for free. What's the point in arguing? I approved the order and picked up my car that afternoon. Before I left I asked to speak with a manager about my situation (having had my car there for several hours at this point, with multiple problems), and although she was called twice, and I waited 20 minutes, no one came. I got back in my car and heard the noise again. I immediately parked, walked back into the store, asked to see the manager again and waited. I told her the whole story and she took notes and told me Robert the Automotive manager would contact me. I also told her I saw no point in bringing my vehicle back to their garage, they had already had three chances to get it right. What would another chance do? Robert did call me, and when I did call him back no one ever answered the phone. This weekend I decided to trade in my Honda for a new car because, thanks to Sears and their shotty repair, I no longer trusted driving it. I couldn't make myself pay any more money at a different location to get it fixed the right way... I felt like I already wasted too much money at Sears. I called the store number today (August 3rd), because I had quite frankly expected a callback from him before now. Turns out he no longer works there and there's really no one I can talk to over Automotive. I called Sears National number, once again told this whole story to the representative, and she apologized greatly for all my troubles. She offered a $25 Gift Card to appease me. Now I'm only out $440.
