Do not trust this company. Horrible. My brand new car was covered in pool plaster because they didn't move the machine to mix it and set it right next to my mustang in the drive way. Our furniture has spray deck all over it. And our patio has cement all over it
Description of Work: Before we hired Sabine pools, we were promised an exact start date. The only reason we chose them was because we were promised the day after we moved in they would start our pool. We could have gotten it a lot cheaper but went on that promise because the other two companies were booked for that date. Well not only did they start two weeks late, after they got their deposit, we couldn't contact the guy heading our project. Phoned, emailed, texted and showed up there many times. No response. Finally showed up and changed our contract to discount because of what happened. He said he would bring me a copy back the next day that I signed. Well he quit the next day and the owner never found the updated one and we had to pay an extra 8000 dollars for the drains, electric and plumbing that were promised with the price. Very rude. The owner had no compassion and was extremely cocky. Now I find out many others he made promises too had the same issue.

I spoke to David Hoffpauir, Lafayette Division Operations Manager for Sabine Pools & Spas by phone on 5/29/14, and we agreed on an 11:00 am appointment the very next day to discuss design and installation of the pool at our new home. I arrived at their location promptly for my appointment and checked in with the lady at the front desk, who told me to have a seat. She did not inform Mr Hoffpauir of my arrival at that time. I sat waiting patiently for 20 minutes or so, then sat a little more impatiently before the lady at the front desk decided that perhaps she should advise Mr. Hoffpauir that his 11:00 appointment was waiting. Still, he did not elect to tear himself away from the couple who he was seeing; which, according to the front desk lady had just dropped in with no appointment; no indeed, I was just left to continue to wait with no explanation or apology whatsoever. After waiting over 40 minutes, I decided to cut my losses, and informed the lady at the front desk I was leaving. I had scheduled this appointment during my work lunch hour; so, I effectively wasted my entire lunch hour waiting for nothing!! If this is their customer service ethic, I can only imagine how things would play out with the pool installation. Very disappointed.
Description of Work: Made an appointment that he did not keep

I called them because I thought there might be a leak in my pool, I was filling it up every few days. And I noticed a large amount of water around the concrete pad holding the pumps and pipes. The tech came out and replaced a part for $325. The water level seemed to stay steady for two weeks until the serviceman came for the weekly cleaning. A few hours after he left I noticed that the hot tub was empty and sucking air. I found that he had placed the valve in the wrong position. I corrected it and filled it up. Then I had to fill the pool up again over the next few days, more than normal. And I noticed that the water problem was back around the pump/pipe area. They said it would take a week or so to get someone out to look at it, but they would call. A week later I came home one day to find the tech in his swimsuit and goggles swimming in my pool, no call was made to let me know he was coming. He said he checked the inside of the pool and couldn't find any leaks. But when I called I told them it was leaking in the same place as before, outside the pool, by the pump, where they replaced the part a few weeks ago. I told him I thought the leak was by the pumps and he said he couldn't find a leak there. But it had rained earlier in the day so I couldn't convince him that the water around the pumps was from the leak and not the rain. So he left stating that I didn't have a leak, there was nothing to fix. But as of today, I still have to fill it up every few days and I can see water leaking from the pump onto the concrete pad near the filter. So I am checking Angie's List to find a new pool service.

Their home office is in Lake Charles, but they service all of the Lafayette area. They are a big company, and they also build pools, but we hired them just for maintenance. They charged us $42 per visit, plus the cost of chemicals. They were professional and punctual, but I kept butting heads with the last guy that came to do the maintenance. The first guy they sent out didn’t test the water properly and we had to complain about him. They sent another guy out who seemed responsible, but the pool builder kept telling us that the reason we had a problem with our plaster was because the chlorine level in the pool was too high. We needed to get the chlorine level down, but the pool maintenance guy from Sabine said the number was too low. We called in the boss and the operations manager and they agreed that we needed to get the chlorine level down. Obviously, they never talked to the maintenance guy because he kept telling us that he wasn’t comfortable getting the number down that low, and didn’t want to take responsibility for it. He told us he wasn’t coming back. We just couldn’t all seem to get on the same page, so we had to let Sabine go. I guess their price is average, but I don’t really know. I would probably not use them again.
Description of Work: I signed on with Sabine Pools and Spas for pool maintenance, but have since let them go.

We had a spa leak. The spa had not been used in about 6 months. We informed Sabine poos that we wanted it repaired for my daughters party. We provided the date and they came out 3 days prior. The service technician told my daughter to wait until the day of the party(Saturday) because it was too cold to fill and start the day of the repair. We filled it up Saturday the day of the party. Spa still had leak and it wouldnt heat. Called Sabine Pool Service and the technician on call indicated that he did not know much about spas and couldnt help us. We eventually found out that the heater needed to be reset(google); however, it was too late to get it ready for the party. My main complaint is that the technician left no plan for any issues that may come up prior to the party. The repair was incomplete as it still leaks and the service department was rude.
