I called the main number which was answered promptly. I described the problem, and the dispatcher said he could probably send someone that same day (and I called around 3pm!). Jason called at around 4:45pm to check whether it was still all right for him to arrive today. He arrived at 5:15pm and replaced only the one part that was causing the issue, rather than trying to upsell me into an entirely new doorknob and lock. Fantastic experience, and I will definitely call them again if I need a locksmith.

They were great. It was a Sunday and we needed the keys changed immediately and we called and in an hour after another job and we're done in 30 minutes.

They were very responsive, coming out to provide an estimate the same day I contacted them. Locks/handles not in stock - had to be ordered. Came in as expected within a week. Only glitch was handle for front door was not the right size - had to be reordered. Since other locks had already been changed out this meant slight inconvenience of having to reschedule another installation day (and using two different keys to access). When second front door handle arrived, appointment was made to install without difficulty. This time handle "fit" but did not cover original handle placement so door will have to be re-stained to cover areas now showing. This may have been inevitable consequence to changing of the locks, but I did not understand this from the outset. Technician was always prompt and pleasant to work with.

On Wednesday I called the number given here on Angie's List and spoke with a man to install a new deadbolt on my front door. This was to be in addition to the existing deadbolt. He informed me of the price, which included the $60 call-out fee, $45 for the deadbolt install, and $40 for the hardware parts. Turns out that Thursday (the next day) was booked, and that they could go after hours for an additional fee or I could wait until Friday when they had an opening. I agreed to 8:30 on Friday and we were all set. Friday morning rolls around and the locksmith shows up 20 minutes late, so I'm pretty annoyed because I took off work and had another appointment at 10am. He apologized profusely and explained that he had a wrong telephone number for me and that he tried to call. My annoyance quickly disappeared when Mickey got to work. He had a hole cut in my front door and the new lock installed within 10 minutes. I was so impressed I casually asked how much it would cost and how long it would take to re-key all of the oudoor locks on my home. He informed me it would take about $9 per lock and would take about 20 minutes to do all 5. I saw how deftly he performed the deadbolt install, and didn't want to pay another $60 for him to have to come back to do it, so I took a gamble on him. In 20 minutes he not only re-keyed 5 other locks in my house, but also made me 7 new keys for all of the ones I had in place! He even fixed a deadbolt that had misaligned since the house was built! My impression of Lafayette Locksmith service is a very positive one. The man that came out to replace the locks was highly skilled. There was no inefficiency in his movement. He never looked at his tool-belt to find a tool that he needed, he knew where everything was by touch. He was polite, efficient, and obviously an expert in his field. For the record, I never inquired about the "Angie's List" discount, nor did I ever mention that I would be putting a review here on Angie's list, so I felt like I got the same treatment that every member of the general public would get just calling in randomly asking for service. I am very impressed with their work and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I called at 8:30 am on New Year's Eve and Mr. Miller was there by 10:00 am. He was very professional and courteous and gave us options for the repair he performed. The charge was reasonable and we will use this company again if we need the services of a locksmith. We were very well-pleased .

Lafayette Locksmith has been doing buisiness with our company for a long time so when I needed work done at my home they were the one to call. We have some unique situations where doors are concerned and the existing lockind systems where inadiquate. They were able to order the hardware needed and install it to make my home more secure. they address all my need in aq timely manner and we are very satisfied with their work.
