+ -1 moreThe original work was done years ago when Jim Olivier was alive. I would have given them an A for service back then. I spent $15,000 on siding, facia and my back patio. After roofing issues, I went to Oliviers to ask for someone to come to look at my back patio because I am having a problem with the facia and the piece placed on the patio. I have a LIFETIME guarantee. I went in and was speaking with a woman and specifically said I did not want to deal with Eric. He was rude when he came to my house. Before I knew it, he was in the office fudging at me telling me that my problem is a roofing problem. Ummm... Roof is fixed and siding is not cut properly. I can see it now. I looked at the girl in the office and said that I wanted to speak to one of the installers of the facia. She told me that my file was upstairs and she would call me when she had "time to get up there". 3 months later, I still have no response. This company has gone to crap. I am sure Jim Olivier is turning over in his grave.

+ 0 moreThe work men took the valleys apart and installed new felt and shingles. I never saw them replace any decking or fascia in the leaking area, I asked if the area was rotten and they said it was in good shape. I asked if they found any other damaged spot on the eaves and I was told no and that everything looked fine. A couple of months later after a rain storm I found I still had the leak in the same place. I then checked the decking along the rest of the eave and found 4 more rotten spots. I hired another contractor who replaced all the bad decking and rafter tails. They repaired all the leaks and only charged me $900. I called Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana and paid more because I didn't want to worry about the repair being poorly done. I thought because of their reputation it would be worth the money. I was wrong.
Description of Work: I had a leak at the eave on one roof valley so I decided to have both valleys replaced. The quote was to repair any damage wood in the leaking area and replace both valleys. It was also stated in the quote to check the front and back eaves for anymore damage or leaks and to check the rafter tails for rot.

+ -1 moreMost of my questions to the supervisor on the job site were answered by will do what you want. I asked questions on issues that I did not know. I expected an answer from someone that has knowledge about roofing so I could choose the proper direction to go. Example: After another will do what you want, the office was called and the office called the manufacture and the outcome was that I removed my original request. My question came from reading the package this item came in (in my case I shouldn't install them). When the job was almost done the next line supervisor came to inspect the job and I informed him about how I feel about "Will do what you want" and he said that he will bring it up the chain. Its a high price but the quality and the large crew is the best that I have seen.

+ -1 moreWe were very satisfied with them. I went with them for the pricing and cooperation. There were at least 3 others that we had prices from and I was dissatisfied with the way the manager was handling it. Roofing Louisiana worked well with us. We had perfect communication and no problems. There was an extensive work that needed to be done. They picked up the perfect shingles and they laid it exactly the way I wanted them to do.
Description of Work: I've used Roofing Louisiana. They had to rip all the stuff out and then we had some removal and replacement of flashings that were outdated that needed to have done. It was all brand new roof, good to go and it's a guaranteed 40-year roof.

+ -1 moreExcellent workmanship and responsiveness. The total cost seemed a bit high; but in view of the other aspects of the work, it seemed to be worth it. Note, if any warranty work or other adjustments are necessary, over time, my opinion could change. The only other negative comment I have is in relation to the $200 in "additional work" due to "repairs" that became necessary (and I had agreed beforehand to such repairs). I would have felt better had I been shown the actual problem area (that was to be corrected). I did see the material bought to do so; but I felt it was not all used and that the remaining materials should belong to me - not the company. But, overall, the company, personnel, and work done was all very good and I am well satisfied with the outcome.

+ -1 moreI chose not to use this company. They had actively solicited work from me at least on 2 previous occasions, leaving brochures at my door. But when I was ready for estimates, I did not get good responsiveness, and had to request a second time that they send someone to come look at the house. While discussing the details of the project, I got the impression that he was competent, but not very eager. He had a nice company truck and uniform, but his attitude was more like a brother-in-law than a professional. He made a comment about the roof being steep (risky), and declined to make needed chimney repairs. I have been on the roof myself, and I expect a roofer can handle all kinds of roofs. I selected WadeCo instead. They even sent me a written estimate package complete with photographs and dimensions, and their foreman who came the same day to my property was not only experienced but included the chimney repairs in the scope of work. They acted like they wanted to do whatever I needed to have done, and they were good at it.
Description of Work: When seeking estimates from the preferred contractors, this company did not respond at first. A few days later they sent a man to look at the project. His estimate was in the ballpark as the company I ended up using instead, but he seemed too casual and hesitant for my taste.

+ -1 moreI gave this contractor an overall excellent because of the quality, efficiency and work ethic of the workmen who did the roofing itself. Also, I was impressed with the enthusiasm and friendliness of the owner and his brother with whom I contracted the work and had personal dealings with. What was less impressive in my experience was the responsiveness in getting the work initiated and finally completed. I had to call and re-call a number of times to finally get someone to come and then to get a minor detail completed after I had made payment for the job. I am planning to contract for the yearly maintenance service and hopefully I will not have any problem with their responsiveness in fulfilling that service.

+ -1 moreThe people were very professional and helped me out very quickly according to the weather condition. They advised me on other damages on the roof that had need of repair. They performed the job in a short period of time without any complications. I definitely recommend to use this company. The only minus is that I am still waiting for an estimate but I can understand that they are busy right now due to the impact of the Hurricane that swept through the region. I give a definite thumbs up for these guys. First contractors which remind me of the work quality and ethic from back home in Germany.

Description of Work: I called Roofing Louisiana and ask for them to give me an estimate. Jeff called me back and said he would go out that day about 4:30 and look at my house. I told him I needed the roof replace as well and facia board and soffits, I ask him if he needed me to be there for him to do the estimate and he told me I did not. I did not hear from him that afternoon and the next day I called his office and the lady I talked to said he would email the estimate. I still did not hear from him and later that afternoon a called the office again and was told again he would email me the estimate, It is Sunday and I still have not heard from him. If he didn't want the job at least he could have called or emaied me that he was not interested but he did neither. I would not recommend this company to do any kind of work. I chose this company based on the reviews on Angies List but was very disappointed. I found someone else that was glad to do the the work I needed and was told this was not the first complaint they had heard about Roofing Louisiana.Jim Harrison

+ -1 moreI called at about 10 a.m. By 1:30, Billy Sr. was calling to arrange a time, and by 3:00, he was there. Found the problem, fixed it (and a couple of other things he noticed) within 15 minutes.
Description of Work: Another roofer did a not-so-perfect job after a hurricane when all the local companies were booked for months. It's leaked three times since then, and each time I've called Roofing Louisiana, they've come right out within a day and fixed it. Very professional, very cordial, and don't charge me, even though I've asked. You better believe I'll call this company to do my roof next time! My sister hired them to do hers last year--fair price, quick, clean and careful, professional, and the roof is so beautiful, people stop by to ask who did the work.

Description of Work: Removed old roof, replaced tar paper and installed new asphalt shingle roof on our home. They hauled away the debris in a dumpster, cleaned up after themsleves.

+ -1 moreThey came out, stripped it off, put a whole new roof and cleaned up everything. They charged us about $4500 for their services. They were here and they did it really quickly. They were finished and gone by lunch time. They were very fast. They probably had about five or six guys. They got here at about 7:30 or 8 o’clock and they were gone by 12:30. Overall, they were excellent. I think their price was pretty good, but I don’t know. Their quality and responsiveness were both excellent. They were here within an hour for the estimate. Their punctuality and professionalism were excellent as well.

+ -1 moreI would suggest if you use the company to be sure to monitor the work while it is taking place. And DO NOT SIGN AN ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT ON WORK until you carefully check every part of the work! Believe me, they will not come back and make it right.
Description of Work: They were very helpful on the front end and their office staff were very responsive. They offered a lot of valuable advise and were very helpful with the selection of colors and products. The problems began when the work began. Workers did not remove roofing nails efficiently around the property and as a result we had two flat tires on different vehicles. For months we were picking up nail in the lawn and flower beds. During the installation there was damage to the faceboard next to the new roof. The sales person with Roofing Louisiana was not as easy to track down, to be honest, I got tired of calling.
