+ -1 moreI took my MacBook to the Apple Store in Baton Rouge. The Apple Store technician advised the MacBook was "vintage" and therefore obsolete. They could not diagnosis the problem other than a vague hard drive failure. Apple referred me to the Orchard Store. I brought the MacBook to the Orchard Store. They thought they could fix it; kept it a week; returned it with no repairs and charged me $120. I brought the MacBook to Apple Pie Repair Friday and got it back Tuesday (it was actually repaired by midday Monday). The folks at Apple Pie quickly diagnosed the problem and offered to replace the hard drive with one of several options. They said if the hard drive repair/replacement could not be fixed, they would charge me nothing. As it turns out, I have a newly refurbished MacBook with a new and larger memory and it works just great. Sometimes having an "obsolete" computer is not so bad, particularly when the folks at Apple Pie Repair are there for service. Note: the drive to Lafayette was well worth the trouble. Otherwise, I would be spending a thousand plus on a new computer. Thanks to the folks at Apple Pie Repair

Description of Work: I went in with a broken iPad screen to be repaired. The guy at the counter could not give me a quote. After he finally found someone who could be of assistance I was told they didn't have time to repair my item that day, that it would be 3-4 days before they could even begin the work. I was in no rush so told them to keep the iPad and notify me when finished. It took about 3 days before they called me to pick up my Pad. Once I got home, I noticed some scratches on the inside of my screen, on the LCD part that were not there before. When I called them about it they proceeded to tell me that the scratches were previously on the screen, which was bogus. After about a week the iPad screen started popping off the iPad and the home button stopped working! I was so angry at the time I brought my iPad to another local place where they fixed the problem without hassle. Another negative aspect, which could be ignorance on my part as well for not researching prices before hand, but the place I brought my pad to the second time could have fixed my screen for almost half the price as what they charged me. Very disappointing, I don't appreciate being taken advantage of either.

+ -1 moreI took the computer into their shop which is nearby. I had a list of the symptoms. By the next day he had examined the computer and had gotten the same symptoms and error messages. He said the computer was too old to spend much money on it even though it is a perfectly fine computer for the home use. Apparently young people think the computer should be junked and replaced every two years. I explained our use and he stated it would be cost prohibitive to trouble shoot the system and correct the software problems. He said the simplest thing to do was wipe the drive clean and re-install everything. I had a couple of problems when first getting it home which he was able to work through by phone. Overall a good experience. The business is new and the personnel young. I expect them to get better and would have no problem using them again.
Description of Work: Computer had become slow then erro messages started appearing until finally shutting down the system. Appeared to be a software or malware problem.

Description of Work: I had washed my phone and left it in rice for 2 weeks. I was originally recommended this company but I figured I could do the work myself. When it didn't come back on I brought it to Apple Pie Repair and they cleaned my phone and not only quoted me a solid price, they gave me several options from replacing the bad parts to bringing to Apple for a replacement!!! This company is honest and I will always recOmend this company.
