I had a loose connection where my video cord screws into my computer. I took it in and Affordable Computer Service's Paul told me I needed a new video card. My card was only one week old. He did a test (faked it as I learned later) and sold me a video card. I took my computer home and almost every application on my computer had been wiped out. I could no longer access business apps that I used or Microsoft. I took it back and he could not undo the damage, so he made a bypass that would let me access my Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, but nothing else. I lost two days work (I work at home, on the computer.) I then went to a different shop and had them test the video card that Affordable told me was defective. There was nothing wrong with it. I went back to Affordable with my computer and told them to take their card out and put my previous one back in. It worked perfectly, of course. I demanded my money back and they put me on the phone with the owner "Duane" whose last name they would not give me. Duane yelled at me and told me my computer was full of viruses and that was why I had lost access to all my programs. I advised him that I had had my computer swept the previous week and had protection programs on it. Furthermore, my computer was working perfectly, except for the loose video connection, when I brought it in. It was, for all intents and purposes, unusable when I took it home. After the voices-raised-phone call with Duane, in which I told him his company had scammed me into buying the new video card and paying for two hours of service, he refunded the money for the card and half the service. This is a company with dishonest practices, scam artists, because they went to great lengths to put on a show to prove my perfect video card was malfunctioning, when it fact it was not. I would never recommend them to anybody except the District Attorney or the police "Bunko" squad.
