Acadiana Chimney Sweeps

It went well.

Called Acadiana Chimney Sweep because he advertised fixing chimney leaks. He arrived inspected my chimney and told me I owed him $79 and that he would put together a quote to fix the leak. He called back a week and half later asking if he forgot his hat at my house. At that time I asked if he had prepared my estimate, he stated that he didn't and would call me back that afternoon. Still raining down my chimney and I've never received an estimate, I feel like I've been had for $79.

They did an excellent job and clean up. They are the only chimney sweeps recommended by Angie's List in the area.

John was very friendly and knowledgeable on the phone. I explained to him our situation and he told us to let him know if we decided to proceed with the house after the electrical inspection and needed him to come out and inspect the chimney. Unfortunately the electrician gave us the bad news on the huge cost of replacing the potentially hazardous aluminum wiring with copper in a two-story house, which would involve gutting most of the walls and ceilings, so we withdrew our offer. John remembered to call us back the following week to check up on our situation. He was again very friendly and easy to talk to. We definitely will call him back in the future when we need any chimney-related work done.

We recently bought an older home, and had no idea as to the condition of the fireplace other than the fact that it was dirty. I called Mr. Bordelon and he arrived promptly the next morning. He arrived on time and was very professional. He first cleaned the entire inside and outside of my fireplace. He also inspected the inside of my chimney with a video camera, which he then showed to me, along with recommending an important repair I need. He then spent time going into my attic and onto my roof, thoroughly examining and documenting the repair work I would need. At the end I received a written estimate, along with a report on how to make my home safer from and during fires. I plan on calling him back to complete the repair work he recommended.

He did a very good job. We feel he was completely honest. He said he shouldn't need to come back for three years, which really surprised me. While he was working he explained absolutely every step he was taking.

They were professional and clean. Their price was reasonable.

We were very satisfied with everything he did including the price.

Mr Bordelon called before he came to ask if I had a two story home and verify time of service. He arrived approximately on time gave me an estimate of $800 to clean my chimney but suggested I do a camera inspection which he'd discount at a cost $100 for a total of $900 even after most reported bills of $600. He completed approximately two hours of work from the inside of the house, then started to pack up his equipment. He walked around in my back yard to look at the roof and chimney. I asked if he was going to clean the chimney from the top and he said he didn't have a ladder even after he had called perviously to ask me before he came. I told him I had a ladder, but then he told me he needed help to get up on my roof. When he gave me the bill, he told me he'd return in 5 days to finish the job. When my husband got home, he was furious that I had paid him in full for an uncompleted job. He called Mr. Bordelon and he told my husband he'd return in 10-15 days. He finally emailed us to let us know he could come and install a bird mesh at the top of our chimney at a cost of $150 even when I had not agreed to purchasing a mesh. I thank him for the follow-up but we had not agreed to changing our screen but would appreciate him coming by to finish the cleaning. He never returned or called!!!

Last winter knob broke to open and close the vent to the chimney. As cold weather approached called him from the yellow pages. He made an appointment; arrived on time, assessed the situation. Noticed how badly the chimney needed cleaning, saw a crack at the top of the outside structure, offered an estimate. We haven't had the chimney cleaned in 5 years since we moved in, figured it was time. He completed the job; paid him by check. No problems, used the fire place 6 times so far. We'll call him again for sure!

His work met all our expectations, we were very pleased with his work. If we need to have our chimney sweeped or any other work performed on the chimney in the future, we will be calling Mr. Bordelon

Mr. Bordelon performed the cleaning and repair, working for three hours, while I was at work. The work area was clean and tidy when he left.
