It was the Friday before a long weekend and they had not completed the job. They tried to delay the job until the following Tuesday, before I demanded they finish the job immediately as I and the other tenant had no place to sleep. They warned me that they would have to start early the following morning as if that would prevent me from meeting them. But as it turned out, I was there an hour before the first of two guys showed up. Once they were here, they were fine and didn’t leave until the power was up. And the owner left me his number in case something didn’t work. Two of my outlets didn’t work, so I texted him that night to let him know. He came over dressed up for a night out, which creeped me out. I stayed on the phone with a friend the whole time he was here because I felt uncomfortable. In the end he charged my landlord $150 because I “made him come over” to deal with a non-existent problem. That was weird, but I thought there might have been mixed messages and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But he came over again and told me that my landlord had authorized me to pay him $550 in cash. I told him I couldn’t get him the cash but wrote him a check, which he told me would have to be for $600. My landlord told me today that he didn’t know what I was talking about. And I now have an electrical problem in my laundry room. I can’t turn to Knock Out to do the job.
